New Enhance Fitness Classes Reduce the effects of Arthritis by moving and stretching to improving flexibility and strength through low impact aerobics and strength training exercises. Demonstrations on Wednesday, February 17 and Wednesday, February 24 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Session begins March 7 and ends May 13. Classes will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $25.00. RSVP please if you plan to attend the demonstrations.

Improve your physique and enhance your overall well-being at our state of the art fitness center. Equipment includes 2 treadmills, 2 recumbent bikes, an elliptical machine, an upper body strength machine and a lower body strength machine. The fitness center also provides free blood pressure screenings to all center members. Professionally trained volunteer monitors are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They will supervise the fitness studio. Please wear proper shoes in the Fitness Room. Personal Trainer available. Fitness membership is only $60 a year or $15 for 13 weeks. Stop in to pick up your application. Individuals must be a current senior center member to participate in the fitness studio. Renew Your Membership Now And Donate To Our Enhancement Fund By now you should have received a phone call from a volunteer to remind you to come in and renew your membership. A special thanks goes to those 454 members who have already came in and renewed. Also, to those who have made a donation to our Enhancement Fund. Volunteer Opportunities Volunteers are needed to be Board Members, to model in an upcoming Fashion Show, for taking pictures of events, putting pictures in a Scrap Book, changing the message on the Marquee, inflating the Yoga Balls, taking items to SWES, creating fliers, helping with publicity, working in the Travel Office, leading trips, assisting with fundraising, wearing costumes at special events, registering new and old members, assisting at the Front Desk, Kitchen and Fitness Room. Brain Matters Initiative Monthly Lecture Series February 9, 2016 at 3 p.m. - How to Save a Life As part of our Brain Matters Initiative for 2016, Dr. Jerold Fleishman, Section Chief of Neurology, Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Franklin Square Hospital will discuss how to recognize a stroke and what to do if you feel someone is having a stroke. Also, callers are assessed for eligibility to obtain financial assistance to help with Medicare and prescription cost. inClement Weather poliCy It is the policy of the Baltimore County Department of Aging to open and fully operate its programs as scheduled. The effects of severe weather and concern for the safety of our constituents may, however, lead us to close centers, CountyRide, and other services/programs. When this or closing for any other reason occurs, media announcements regarding closures or late openings will ONLY be made on WBAL Radio, 1090 AM; WBAL-TV 11 and WJZ-TV 13. Information on closings and/or late openings will also be published on the Baltimore County web site, www.baltimorecountymd.gov. Senior Centers will open at 10:30 a.m. when a 2-hour delay is reported.
