Airport code: FRA Number of Terminals: 2 Information Airport information desks are located in the arrivals and departures halls of both terminals; these are staffed 24 hours a day. There are also several touch screen information kiosks situated throughout both terminals. Transfer between Terminals Free SkyLine shuttle trains run between the terminals (journey time: 2 minutes). Free shuttle buses can also be found by the roadside outside each terminal.

How to get there Driving Directions Frankfurt Airport is directly linked to the A3 (Cologne-Munich) and A5 (HanoverBasel) motorways, which border the airport's eastern and northern boundaries. These routes join at the Frankfurter Kreuz junction for access to the airport on the federal B43 road, which connects directly to the city centre. The A67, serving destinations in the south, connects with the A5. Rail The Regional Train Station (platforms 1-3) is located beneath Terminal 1. From here, S-Bahn (tel: (01805) 768 4636; www.rmv.de) commuter trains (lines S8 and S9) depart for Frankfurt’s Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) (journey time: 15 minutes; fare: €4.25). Trains also run to Offenbach, Hanau, Rüsselsheim, Mainz and Wiesbaden. RegionalExpress (RE) and StadtExpress (SE) trains serve many other destinations. The long-distance train station (platforms 4-7) is linked via a connector building to Terminal 1. From here, a number of high-speed ICE trains depart to the central stations of Cologne (journey time: 1 hour) and Stuttgart (journey time: 75 minutes) – with connections further afield in Germany and across Europe. These services are operated by Deutsche Bahn (tel: 01806 996 633; www.bahn.de). Bus Regular buses (tel: (01805) 768 4636; www.rmv.de) stop at the bus station in front of the Terminal 1 arrivals hall and at the bay in front of the arrivals/departures halls of Terminal 2. The journey time to central Frankfurt is about 25 minutes, and the fare €4.25. Bus 61 serves Frankfurt-Südbahnhof; bus 900 serves ObertshausenBahnhof; bus 73 serves Kelsterbach; while the Darmstadt Airliner runs to Darmstadt. Shuttle There are Lufthansa (tel: (06152) 976 900; www.transcontinental-group.com) shuttles to Hahn Airport, Heidelberg, Mannheim and Strasbourg, stopping in front of Arrivals Hall B, Terminal 1. Taxi Taxis are readily available outside both terminals (journey time to the city centre: 20-30 minutes; fare: from €30). Car Parking There are a total of 14,000 parking spaces at Frankfurt Airport – substantial discounts apply for parking booked in advance (tel: +49 (0) 180 - 6 372 4636). Each of the terminals has a multistorey car park and/or an underground car park providing direct 24-hour access to the terminal: car parks P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 serve Terminal 1, while P8 and P9 are close to Terminal 2. There are reserved parking spaces for female drivers in P1, P4 and P5 and a secure car park at Terminal 1, operated by Airport Car Service (tel: (069) 690 27901; www.acs-airport.de). Facilities & infrastructure Money Numerous banks, bureaux de change and ATMs are available in Terminals 1 and 2, both before and after the security areas. A number of major German banks offer a range of services at their branches in the Frankfurt Airport Centre (FAC), opposite Terminal 1. Communications Postal services are available throughout Frankfurt Airport. 3C Communications provides credit card phone, fax and internet connections 24 hours a day. Deutsche Telekom also provides internet ports at some gates. Free wireless internet is available for 30 minutes (a fee applies thereafter). Food Restaurants, bars and cafés can be found throughout both terminals. Some of these eateries are open 24 hours a day. Among the options are restaurants serving Asian cuisine, an ice cream parlour and a sports bar serving American classics. Shopping There are more than 130 shops at Frankfurt Airport spread between the terminals. These include fashion boutiques, duty-free outlets (for passengers leaving the EU) and newsagents. The Shopping Plaza on level 2 of Terminal 2 offers a wide range of retail options. Luggage Porter services are available from AHS (tel: (069) 6902 2212) and Securitas (tel: (069) 6902 1300). Trolleys (requiring a €2 deposit) are located throughout Frankfurt Airport. The lost property office (tel: (069) 6906 6359) is situated on the first level of Terminal 1. A 24-hour left luggage service (tel: (069) 6907 3277) is available in both terminals. Other There are pharmacies and a 24-hour medical clinic in Terminal 1. There are hairdressers and a nail studio in Terminal 1 for those seeking a spot of pampering before their flight; while those feeling lucky can head to the casino in the same terminal. Travel agencies are on hand for bookings and information in both terminals. For those travelling with kids, children's play areas are located at various points within Frankfurt Airport, while baby-changing rooms and buggy hire are available at the left-luggage offices in both terminals. Those accompanied by canine friends can make use of the new dog-only hotel, which has 25 kennels for day or overnight stays, while the owner can stay in comfort at on-site accommodation.

Conference & Business The Airport Conference Centre (tel: (069) 6907 0500; www.acc-frankfurt.de) in Frankfurt Airport Centre (across a pedestrian bridge from Terminal 1) offers 35 conference rooms for up to 200 people, as well as audiovisual equipment, internet access, secretarial services, interpreters, office supplies, videoconferencing and catering. There are also presentation rooms for hire in Terminal 2 (tel: (069) 6907 0291). Many of the major airlines have executive lounges and the airport's Europe City Club lounge (on level 3 of Terminal 1) is open to all for a fee. First-class passengers travelling with Lufthansa are permitted to use a dedicated area adjacent to Terminal 1. The on-site Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel (tel: (069) 69770; www.starwoodhotels.com) and a number of other nearby hotels also offer extensive meeting and conference options.



Accessibility Facilities for disabled passengers include lift and ramp access, electric buggies, automatic doors, lowered telephones, dedicated toilets and reserved parking. Wheelchair accompaniment services are available on request (tel: (069) 6906 6666). Disabled passengers should inform the relevant airline of any assistance required at least 48 hours prior to their arrival at Frankfurt Airport. Behinderten - und Krankentransport Kaster (tel: (060) 7481 4544) offers transport services for disabled travellers to/from the airport. There is also a door-to-door wheelchair-accessible bus service (tel: (069) 979 8770) equipped with an ambulance lift. The SkyLine shuttle train is wheelchair accessible.
