Scheduled Maintenance

Breakdown Maintenance

Clearly defined SOPs:

There is an unwavering focus on continuous growth which is aimed at improving efficiency, prolonging asset life and driving down operational costs.

Over 100 SOPs, pertaining to all aspects of airport asset and system maintenance have been defined and strictly adhered to.

Some of the initiatives driven by innovative thinking that have been taken up are:

Computerized Maintenance Management Systems:

• RO reject water recovery system

Centralized monitoring and recording of all scheduled maintenance activities, breakdowns/ failures, implementation of corrective actions, complaint management and resolution times.

• Manpower optimization

Automated Systems:

• Energy conservation • Improvement of chiller efficiency

SLAs ARE ACHIEVED THROUGH A THREE PRONGED APPROACH OF PEOPLE, PROCESS AND SYSTEMS STAFF TRANSITION:

AIRPORT ENGINEERING MAINTENANCE

Preventive Maintenance

Emergency Maintenance

Corrective Maintenance

This approach has resulted in over 98% availability and serviceability of various systems.

The training takes place at regular intervals to ensure that staff skill is upgraded in line with the changing system and business requirements.

While maintenance is a repetitive activity, at GMR we realize that maintenance costs have a direct impact on the bottom line of the business.

In recognition of these efforts the Government of India has issued a Certificate of Merit to GMR Hyderabad International Airport at the National Energy Conservation Awards 2011.

OUR APPROACH...

A Gateway to Global Aviation Learning The international aviation community recognizes that the addressal of the critical issue of shortage of skilled aviation professionals will be a key challenge globally in the years ahead. The shortage will be even more pronounced in the Indian context, given that in the next 20 years, India hopes to emerge as the 4th largest aviation market with triple its current fleet of aircraft, over 100 new civil airports and a requirement of skilled manpower estimated to be more than 100,000. The GMR Aviation Academy was established at the state-of-the-art Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, Hyderabad in 2009, with the objective of providing professional training and enhancing the knowledge and skills of GMR Airports’ personnel. Over the years, it has emerged as a global gateway for Aviation learning in India for not only GMR’s own personnel; but also for the people of its peers and allied agencies in India and abroad.

GMR Aviation Academy

The Academy is among the few globally to have been accredited with the coveted “Regional Training Centre of Excellence” (RTCE) stature by ICAO besides being a “Global Training Hub” of ACI. It is also an Authorized Training Centre (ATC) and Accredited Training School (ATS) of IATA.
