ACTIVITY We will have the Dad's all meeting in our auditorium at 9:20 for welcome and introductions, then they will break into groups: Group 1 will go to their child's class for fun activity with the students. Group 2 will go outside to play physical games, jump rope, football, basketball (Weather permitting, if not they will be in the gym). Group 3 will be in the auditorium for a game of "how well do you know your child's school?". These sessions last 30 minutes each.

At Banksville, we will welcome our guests by inviting them to participate in cross-curricular activities throughout each grade level. Fathers will be invited to share in a light continental breakfast beginning at 10:00am. A brief welcome will take place and an outline of the day’s activities will be provided. Fathers will then join their child’s class and participate in activities co-planned with the reading/ math and science teachers.

During lunch, the fathers will be provided lunch and enjoy special recess activities. After lunch we will thank our role models for coming. Various guests will speak to the Dads to encourage them. Re-elected Representative Ed Gainey will bring words of welcome. We also will take a picture and encourage significant male figures The guests will also adopt students that do not have a “Significant male” figure in attendance. The AM Session will end at 11:15 a.m. Our afternoon session will begin at 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. We will have a welcome session in the afternoon and we will provide words of encouragement.

Our day will begin in the Auditorium during Community to celebrate and honor the many individuals in our lives who support, teach, and take care of us with love and care. The West Liberty School Community will host a special day of learning for all significant male figures on the afternoon of May 20th from 2:00 to 3:30. All visitors will have the opportunity to hear a guest speaker and participate in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities led by student leaders.

We are hosting a "Bring Your VIP Day" instead so it includes more adults. Tentatively ALL VIPs will be invited to participate in our school-wide morning meeting which begins at 8:05 AM. After the VIPs will go to a breakfast where the principal and ITL2s will greet them and speak to the curriculum/ answer questions. Then VIPs will go into the classrooms to participate in activities and special spring crafts. VIPs will regroup at 11:00 AM in the school library to review the day and fill out the parent survey.

8:10am- 8:45am-Our Fathers will be welcomed by our Sunnyside staff and students and a breakfast social will begin in the morning honoring our fathers. 8:45am- 10:45am-Our fathers will shadow their child during their son/daughter’s regular classroom schedule. Engaging and hands on activities will take part in each teacher’s classroom to include both students and our fathers. Fathers who have multiple children in different grade levels will have the flexibility to rotate classroom to classroom. Each father will receive an assigned time to attend a small session on the use of technology (iPads, 3D printers and laser cutter) across all curriculums. During the mini session, our fathers will experiment with the software. After completing this mini session, our fathers will leave with a premade plaque that says, “Sunnyside Dad.” 10:45am- 11:00am -Parent Surveys will be distributed and there will be an opportunity for them to be completed. 11:00am-A drawing will be held to raffle off donated gifts during our closing session.

Pittsburgh Schiller STEAM academy will be welcoming the fathers with a light breakfast while Mrs. Heinzman and Mrs. Findon (STEAM teacher) share a few words of gratitude. As a team, the fathers and students will then build and program an airplane using Lego Robotics technology. While they are building, the STEAM teacher will walk around and discuss the Engineering Design Process that the students have been focusing on throughout the year. To culminate the event, they will complete a self- esteem activity. The activity will include building a craft demonstrating why the grown-ups are proud of their child.

During a Continental Breakfast for our fathers, Dr. MiChele Holly, Principal / Mr. Chris Dedes, Faculty Manager will welcome our fathers to Pittsburgh Sterrett Classical Academy 6-8. After the Continental Breakfast, fathers will be given their child’s schedule and will be escorted to the classrooms to observe first period class. Students and their fathers will meet in the gym. At that time Mr. Inesso, Physical Education Teacher, will explain the rule of “King of the Court” basketball challenge. T-Shirts and certificates will be given to our fathers for participating in “Take Your Father to School Day.” After the Basketball Challenge, the fathers will enjoy a cook-out luncheon. Once lunch is over, an Award Presentation will take place and dismissal. We sincerely hope that the time our fathers spend here at Pittsburgh Sterrett Classical Academy 6-8 will be happy and pleasant as well as informative and helpful.

After a continental breakfast with students and a speaker, students will escort fathers around the building to their classes. The event will be from 8-10:30. Regarding the photo area, we take the photos of students and their guest and get them developed and distribute them to students the following week. For those students whom do not have an Influential Male Role Model available to attend, we welcome an Influential Female Role Model instead. Mr. Lott will welcome all participants and thank them for the support and care they offer our students in their home environments as they sign in at the main office. Pioneer will cater a lunch offered to all students as well as 1 adult role model per student.
