Kids Run: Restricted to 5th and 6th Grade Level Elementary School students (no division for gender).

Police and Fire Fighting Group: There is a special free entry for 600 police and fire fighting staff in the 10K race. If you need more detailed information, please contact the CTRRA.

Racing Chip: The 2009 Fubon Taipei Marathon adopts the CHAMPIONCHIP Racing Chip system to record the race results. All race participants will receive a racing bib, souvenirs and one racing chip. There is a chip deposit of NT$100 which can be retrieved immediately after the race. Chip deposits will not be refunded after race day (December 20, 2009). Detailed instructions on how to fasten and use the chip will be provided beforehand, or if you need any further assistance on how to use your chip, you can ask for assistance from officials and volunteers at the race site. All chip times and results of the competition events will be displayed at the site. The racing chip times without exception will determine the final placing and results of the competition events. Please take your own ability into account at the start and as a courtesy give priority to faster runners by allowing them to line up in front of you. The CTRRA has the right to discard any results in which participants have not crossed the starting line within 10 minutes after the race has officially started. Please make sure that you have filled out all entry form details, attached a photocopy of all required ID documents and included all entry fee expenses. You should also retain your own mail registration slip if sent by registered mail.

Register in person at the CTRRA You can register in person at the CTRRA office. Fill out the entry form and make payment at the Chinese Taipei Road Running Association (CTRRA): Room 206, 2nd Floor, No.55, Changji St., Datong District, Taipei, Tel: (02) 2585-5659, Fax (02) 2599-6716 --- map of CTRRA office is located at the CTRRA website http://www.sportsnet.org.tw/en/ --- CTRRA working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 12 Noon and 1:30pm to 5:30pm.

Please make sure you have correctly provided and completed all of the items and information required for registration. Registration with incomplete entry forms or insufficient entry fee will not be accepted. Assess your health and condition while registering and keep in mind that after you have completed the registration process, you are not permitted to replace your entry with someone else, change to a different race event, change your T-shirt size or request a refund. Any marathon entrants below 17 years of age shall be subject to the consent and approval of the CTRRA.

If no T-shirt size is indicated in the entry form, then size “L” shall be granted unless size “L” has run out whereas another size will be substituted.

(f)

If you are registering by mail from overseas, please do not make payment by personal check. The CTRRA will not be able to accept payment by personal check. If you are issuing payment by postal services, please make sure that payment is made in New Taiwan Dollars (NT$) or United States Dollars (US$).

(g)

No prior registration for the FUN RUN required. Participants in the FUN RUN can pick up a number at the race site (Taipei City Hall Plaza). Supply of number bibs is limited.

Note: The registration deadline is November 13, 2009. The organizers will not be held responsible in case any participant fails to meet the registration deadline, or if the participant fails to complete the registration procedure by the registration deadline regardless of the reason and regardless of the method of registration. Registration is closed to everyone after the deadline.

HOW TO CHECK-IN AND PICK UP YOUR RACE PACKAGE: Personal check-in prior to race day Date: December 17 – 19, 2009, from 9:00am to 6:00pm Place: Fubon café at No. 210, Section 1, Keelung Road, Taipei Please be sure to bring your pick-up notice sent to you by mail one week beforehand. If you have not received your pick-up notice by December 17, 2009, please contact the CTRRA right away. If you are unable to personally check-in and pick up your race package, you may entrust someone in writing to pick up your package for you. The CTRRA will not be held responsible for anyone misrepresenting you to pick up your race package.

Mailing of Race Package by Postal Service (please indicate during registration). Also, please note that this service is provided only within Taiwan and a postal fee must be paid as part of the registration. X The CTRRA will mail the race package by post to those who requested to receive it in the mail three days prior to the race event at the address indicated during registration. Please be sure to provide the correct mailing address in order to avoid any chance of a wrong delivery. o If the package is unable to be delivered due to an improper address or nobody was able to sign for its receipt upon delivery thereby resulting in the participant being unable to take part in the event, the package will not be re-sent, but the participant may pick up the package contents at the CTRRA office in the following week after the race (Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 12:00 Noon or 1:30pm to 5:00pm). Afterwards, the package will be discarded. Z Please note the additional postal fee: For individuals and group entries comprised of less than 5 members, the additional fee is NT$130 per person. For other group entries, the cost is NT$600 for groups of 5 – 20 persons, NT$1,200 for groups of 21 – 50 persons, NT$1,800 for groups of 51 – 100 persons, NT$2,400 for groups of 101 – 200 persons, NT$3,000 for groups of 201 – 300 persons.

Pick-up of race package on the day of the race at the site: X If for some reason you were unable to pick-up your race package beforehand at the pick-up location, you may pick it up at the site with an additional service fee of NT$130 per person. Y You must present your pick-up notice confirming your entry and photocopy ID. Z Pick-up at the race site is from 6:00am to 6:30am only. No pickup service after 6:30am.

All entrants who have not reported to pick-up their race package shall be withdrawn from the race. If you were unable to take part in the race, you can still pick up your race package from the CTRRA office during working hours from December 21 to December 25, 2009. Cash Prizes and Awards: Cash Prizes: cash prizes shall be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers. The 2009 Fubon Taipei Marathon will offer the male and female champions of the marathon a total amount of NT$1,333,000 if they also set a new course record. If the amount of cash awarded is more than NT$19,999, then 10% tax will be deducted for winners who are citizens of Taiwan and 20% tax will be deducted for winners who are not citizens of Taiwan (please bring photocopy of ID). All top overall finishers will not be awarded additional prizes for the separate age group

District Award

Trophies and gifts: For the marathon, half-marathon and 10K races, all age group divisions having between 1-20 entrants will award gifts and trophies to the top two finishers, 21-50 entrants will award gifts and trophies to the top three finishers, 51-100 entrants will award gifts and trophies to the top six finishers, 101-200 entrants will award gifts and trophies to the top ten finishers and more than 200 entrants will award gifts and trophies to the top twenty finishers. Also, for the marathon, half-marathon and 10K races, male runners 70 years old and older and female runners 60 years old and older shall be awarded gifts and trophies to the top ten finishers. The top three male and female police and fire-fighters in the 10K race will receive a cash prize and at the same time will also be eligible to receive other trophies and prized awarded in their respective age groups. Please bring your race bib and a photocopy of your ID with you when claiming your prize. All prize winners shall pick-up and claim their prizes prior to the closing time of 1pm on the day of the race event or else their prizes will be forfeited. All runners who completed the marathon and half-marathon within the required time limit will be given a finishers medal, towel and completion certificate. All runners who completed the 10K race within the required time limit will be given a completion certificate and Kids Run participants who finish within the required time limit will also be given a completion certificate.

Please contact the CTRRA if you have not received your race completion certificate verifying your finishing place and time by February 27, 2010. The top three business enterprises with the most participants in the race competitions will be granted a special prize by the race organizers and be provided a canopy tent at the race site.

Violations: (1) Competitors who commit the following violations will have their race results disqualified from the competition: (a) Illegally receiving drink or food from another party (you may only receive drink or food provided by the organizers). (b) Not complying with the race officials’ instructions. (c) Not wearing the racing bib number in the front area of the chest. (d) Using bicycle,in-line skates, skateboards or any other rolling devices, etc. on the race course. (e) Improper usage of the champion chip. (2) Competitors who commit the following violations listed will have their results disqualified from the competition plus they will be banned from participating in any CTRRA activity or event for one year and will have their name and violation publicly announced on the website: (a) Receiving assistance from another person or party during the competition. (b) Using false ID information during registration. (c) Using substitute or non-registered runners during the race competition. (d) Violating the spirit of the activity event (causing a disturbance or insulting officials and staff, etc.). 16.

Disputes:

(1) Competition disputes: during the race competition, competitors may not dispute the referees and officials. (2) Dispute procedure: any dispute concerning the competition should be brought to the organizers attention within ten minutes after finishing the race and at the same time a deposit of NT$3,000 must be submitted. If the judges of the review committee conclude that the dispute is not justified, then the NT$3,000 deposit shall not be returned. 17.

Items of Special Attention (Please Note):

(1) Storage of Personal Belongings: y Runners must use the red color personal belongings bag provided by the CTTRA if they wish to check in and store their personal belongings at the race. If you do not have a CTRRA personal belonging bag, you may purchase one at the site (NT$100 per bag). The CTRRA personal belonging bag can be re-used at

all CTRRA events. The personal belongings bags can be checked in on race day (December 20, 2009) beginning at 5:30 am. Use your racing bib number to retrieve your personal belongings bag. All bags must be checked out before 1:00 pm. (Please store all valuable personal belongings in a secure place. The event organizers shall not be responsible for the loss of any personal items). Since the start and finish of the 10K race are at different locations, all personal belongings bags must be checked in and stored between 5:30am and 6:45am. After 6:45am, the 10K personal belonging bags will be transported for pick-up at the race finish area (Pei An Junior High School). All personal belonging bags for the 10K race must be retrieved by 10:00am. The CTRRA will not be responsible for the custody of any 10K race personal belonging bags after 10:00am.

(2) Safety first: Please be sure that there is nothing wrong with your condition before starting the race. The referees or doctor have the right to stop any runner from continuing depending on his/her physical condition. (3) Please bring your ID information with you at the race event. (4) Please read all of the details and information on the race regulations. (5) Please follow the instructions of the referees and traffic control personnel during the race. (6) If for some reason you were unable to participate in the race event, you can still retrieve your race package with souvenir at the CTRRA office from December 21, 2009, to December 25, 2009 during regular working hours (9:00am to 12:00pm and 1:30pm to 5:00pm). Afterwards, all unclaimed race package materials shall be discarded. 18:

The organizers reserve the right to publish or broadcast any video, photographs or other types of materials recorded at this event for the purpose of reporting and promoting its activities.

Postal Delivery (additional charge for postal fees and domestic deliveries only): If you are unable to pick up your package at the pick up site location as scheduled, then please select the postal delivery method. ADDITIONAL POSTAL FEE:NT$130 for less than 5 entries, NT$600 for 5 to 20 entries, NT$1,200 for 21 to 50 entries, NT$1,800 for 51 to 100 entries, NT$2,400 for 101 to 200 entries and NT$3,000 for 201 to 300 entries.

Register either on-line (Chinese service only), by post or in person at the CTRRA office in Taipei. Please fill out the entry form(make sure all of the information is correct)and include a photocopy of your ID. If you register by post, please mail all of your information to “2009 Taipei Marathon” at P.O. Box 47-110, Taipei, Taiwan. Please contact the CTRRA if you have any questions on how to mail your entry form by post.
