2. TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE
INNOVATION
a.
Prestressed Mechanical Joint • •
b.
The Gateway Upgrade Piling Alliance part funded the development of a revolutionary new prestressed splicing system. We have approval from the Department of Transport & Main Roads (QLD) for its use on selected projects.
Enhanced Installation Tolerances Work to install foundations for several LNG projects has required driving ever larger steel tubes to tight tolerances. To meet this demand we have increased the capacity of our driven pile equipment (to be able to handle up to 1500mm diameter piles pitched in single lengths up to 33m long), and have fitted our driven piling rigs with Trimble GPS and Jean Lutz pile driving monitor equipment. These innovations put our driven piling capability at the forefront of the market in Australia.
•
c.
Market Accepted Standard
Pile Driving Monitor • • • •
2.4.
When Piling Contractors was awarded a large driven piling contract, this innovative new technique was not commercially available in the marketplace. Piling Contractors saw significant safety advantages in its implementation and undertook with our Client that if the technology became available during works it would be used for the project. Piling Contractors brought the system to site in prototype form because of the safety and quality improvements it offered. The full scale trial at the first project was successful and Piling Contractors subsequently purchased additional PDM units which have been widely used since.
WORKING WITH OUR INDUSTRY

PROJECT EXPERIENCE Piling Contractors has undertaken a large range of projects in recent years varying in size and complexity and under different contracting arrangements including Alliancing, Sub-Alliancing, Early Contractor Involvement, Design & Construct and Construct only. We are client focussed. We have undertaken foundation works all across Australia including in remote regions such as the Kimberly and Pilbara regions of Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland. The company has over 30 years history of delivering projects of magnitude safely, on time and on budget. To this end, we believe that an early specialist foundation contractor involvement is the most effective way to ensure efficient design, feasible and safe construction methods and the timely delivery of foundation solutions ahead of time and target cost estimates.
Details of recent projects that demonstrate our capability and expertise are available from our website . We also have a library of Project Data Sheets providing additional information about many of our past projects. Numerous timelapse videos and animations illustrating some of the techniques we offer are available from our website at http://www.pilingcontractors.com.au/timelapse-and-animations
