Neil Stone's Karate Academy: Six-Week Program

Ages 4 and up NSKA is partnering with the Milford Recreation Department to offer six weeks of karate classes to the Milford community! The Academy teaches traditional Uechi-Ryu karate through modern techniques and study, blending physical self-defense education with training in bully prevention, stranger danger, and many other fields. Most importantly, our Character Development Program teaches students to live in the martial way--respectful, humble, disciplined and kind. Participants in the Program have full access to the Brookline classes and facility six days a week, from September 25 to November 4! Youth Piano Lessons Ages 7-12. Lessons for the beginner piano student! These 6 lessons will teach students the basics required to develop proper piano playing ability. You will work on reading music, proper posture and hand position, and begin to play songs. Our instructor looks to personally inspire students through music and to further encourage their commitment to learning this instrument! Parents are welcome to drop-off or stay. Co-ed Group Golf Lessons Ages 12 Over During our 6 week lessons we will be going over putting, chipping, follow through and rotation, full swing form, hand positioning, and standing correctly when approaching each shot. Milford Recreation Ski Program (formerly known as Heron Pond Ski Program)

The Milford Recreation Ski Program will be held at Crotched Mountain. Beginners as well as seasoned skiers and snowboarders are welcome to join us for 5 fun filled weeks. Children in grades 2-5 are welcome to participate in skiing or snowboarding. First graders are welcome to attend if accompanied by a parent. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.

Ski and snowboard program will be held on Thursdays, January 4, 2018 through February 1, 2018. Make-up class (if needed) will be February 8, 2018.

Parent Info/Equipment Fitting Night

3:45 pm—approximate arrival time. Participants will gear up and have the opportunity for some free skiing/snowboarding.

Important informational meeting providing a great opportunity to hand in liability forms and have all the questions you may have answered. This will also be the time for those individuals renting from Crotched Mountain to be fitted for their equipment.

5:00 pm—1 hour lesson (optional/additional cost) 6:00 pm—Dismissal At 6pm, all participants must be met by a parent (or other adult designated in advance).

If you are unable to attend this meeting, you must stop by the Recreation Department to complete paperwork and visit Crotched Mountain to get fitted prior to December 29th.

Sept. 13th: Help MIT with Pumpkin Festival

Join us in assisting the Milford Improvement Team with setting up and preparing for the 2017 Milford Pumpkin Festival! Also, we will have supplies available to write letters to our troops. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.  October 11th: Coffee with a Cop

Milford Police Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together over coffee–to discuss issues and learn more about each other. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

It‘s time to bring in the Holiday season once again! Help make decorations to beautify our Banquet Hall for the Holiday Luncheon in December. We will also be decorating a wreath as a donation for the Wadleigh Library: Wreaths Around Wadleigh! Music, snacks, and refreshments will be provided. 

Kids Vacation Programs February Vacation Fun-Days! Auditorium in Town Hall Thursday, 3/1: Wildlife Encounters Wildlife Encounters will be coming to Milford Recreation Department. You will have an opportunity to meet the ―Faces of Nature‖ through a dynamic and interactive animal presentation. This program has ―Hands on‖ potential with some of the smaller, interactive, animals.
