YEFIM BRONFMAN Internationally recognized as one of today’s most acclaimed and admired pianists, Yefim Bronfman stands among a handful of artists regularly sought after by festivals, orchestras, conductors and recital series. His commanding technique, power and exceptional lyrical gifts are consistently acknowledged by the press and audiences alike. At the center of last season was a residency with Staatskapelle Dresden, which included all the Beethoven concerti conducted by Christian Thielemann in Dresden and on tour in Europe. Mr. Bronfman also performed the Bartók concerti with the London Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev in Edinburgh, London, Vienna, Luxembourg, and New York. Recital performances captured audiences with the cycles of the daunting complete Prokofiev sonatas over three programs in Berlin, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and Cal Performances, Berkeley. As a regular guest, Mr. Bronfman performed with the Vienna, New York and Los Angeles philharmonics, Mariinsky, Cleveland and Philadelphia orchestras, as well as the symphonies of Boston, Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco and Seattle. Following the success of their first U.S. tour last spring, Mr. Bronfman also rejoined AnneSophie Mutter and Lynn Harrell last May for a European tour that took them from Madrid to Berlin, Moscow and Milan. Always keen to explore chamber music repertoire, his partners have also included Martha Argerich, Magdalena Kožená, Emmanuel Pahud, Pinchas Zukerman and many others. Mr. Bronfman works regularly with an illustrious group of conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Herbert Blomstedt, Semyon Bychkov, Riccardo Chailly, Christoph von Dohnányi, Gustavo Dudamel, Charles Dutoit, Daniele Gatti, Valery Gergiev, Alan Gilbert, Mariss Jansons, Vladimir Jurowski, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Andris Nelsons, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Sir Simon Rattle, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Franz Welser-Möst, and David Zinman. Summer engagements have regularly taken him to the major festivals of Europe and the U.S. He has also given numerous solo recitals in the leading halls of North America, Europe and the Far East, including acclaimed debuts at Carnegie Hall in 1989 and Avery Fisher Hall in 1993. In 1991 he gave a series of joint recitals with Isaac Stern in Russia, marking Mr. Bronfman’s first public performances there since his emigration to Israel at age 15. That same year he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Prize, one of the highest honors given to American instrumentalists. In 2010 he was honored as the recipient of the Jean Gimbel Lane prize in piano performance from Northwestern University. Widely praised for his solo, chamber and orchestral recordings, Mr. Bronfman was nominated for a Grammy® Award in 2009 for his Deutsche Grammophon recording of EsaPekka Salonen’s piano concerto with Salonen conducting, and in 1997 he won a Grammy® Award, again with Salonen, for his recording of the three Bartók piano concerti with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. His prolific catalog of recordings includes works for two pianos by Rachmaninoff and Brahms with Emanuel Ax, the complete Prokofiev concerti with the Israel Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta, a Schubert/Mozart disc with the Zukerman Chamber Players and the soundtrack to Disney’s Fantasia 2000. His most recent CD releases are the 2014 Grammy®-nominated Piano Concerto No. 2 by Magnus Lindberg, commissioned for Yefim Bronfman and performed by the New York Philharmonic conducted by Alan

Gilbert on the Da Capo label; Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1 with Mariss Jansons and the Bayerischer Rundfunk; a recital disc, Perspectives, complementing Mr. Bronfman’s designation as a Carnegie Hall ‘Perspectives’ artist for the 2007-08 season; and recordings of all the Beethoven piano concerti as well as the Triple Concerto together with violinist Gil Shaham, cellist Truls Mørk, and the Tönhalle Orchestra Zürich under David Zinman for the Arte Nova/BMG label. Now available on DVD are his performances of Liszt’s second piano concerto with Franz Welser-Möst and the Vienna Philharmonic from Schoenbrunn, 2010 on Deutsche Grammophon; Beethoven’s fifth piano concerto with Andris Nelsons and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra from the 2011 Lucerne Festival, and Rachmaninoff’s third concerto with the Berlin Philharmonic and Sir Simon Rattle on the EuroArts label. Scheduled for DVD release later this year are both Brahms concerti with Franz Welser-Möst and The Cleveland Orchestra. Born in Tashkent in the Soviet Union, Yefim Bronfman immigrated to Israel with his family in 1973, where he studied with pianist Arie Vardi, head of the Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University. In the United States, he studied at The Juilliard School, Marlboro School of Music, and the Curtis Institute of Music, under Rudolf Firkusny, Leon Fleisher, and Rudolf Serkin. He is a 2015 recipient of an honorary doctorate from the Manhattan School of Music. Yefim Bronfman became an American citizen in July 1989.

PROGRAM NOTES Béla Bartók (1881-1943) was one of the 20th century’s greatest composers for piano and was also known for operas and orchestral works. In addition, he was fascinated by Magyar folk music – the language, people and music that became known as Hungarian – and collected thousands of examples. He carefully distinguished these from the better-known gypsy music, which spanned the borders of several countries. The suite form had been used in earlier centuries to indicate a grouping of dance movements. The order could vary according to the country and the composer; they were not necessarily meant to be danced. Bartók borrowed this organizing principle for his Suite, Op. 14, Sz. 62, which was written in Budapest in 1916. He used only one dance form, the scherzo. By using the concept of the suite, Bartók was reaching back in time. Given his interest in folk music, one might also expect this work to include folk melodies. However, although the first movement of the suite sounds like folk music, it is actually completely original, with a decidedly rustic character. The short and occasionally modal themes are enhanced by syncopation and the frequent exchange of high and low passages. The scherzo movement begins with a ten-note motif, outlined one note at a time, first descending and then ascending in patterns spanning more than two octaves each. Following these rapid passages, the tranquillo section begins with sharp dissonances; these two themes alternate throughout the movement. Allegro molto, the third movement, begins in the low bass clef for twelve measures, adds treble clef phrases, and then alternates the sections. This intensely driving rhythmic movement leads directly into the Sostenuto, which is slow and melodic, with subtle Continued on next page.

29

syncopation, frequent half-step melodic movement, and a dynamic marking that begins piano and ends pianississimo. It is unusual for a work to end with a slow and quiet movement, but Bartók’s choice shows his self-confidence and his mastery of the piano. The Suite is considered the first real masterpiece of his thirty piano works and is a highlight of 20th-century piano music.

Robert Schumann (1810-1856) composed his Humoreske, Op. 20, in late 1838 and early 1839, while living in Vienna. He described the work in a letter to Clara Wieck, who was later to become his wife, as “somewhat melancholy but with more joyful aspects.” It is dedicated to Julie von Webenau, a friend and fellow pianist and composer. The title is not meant to indicate a humorous work but rather to indicate humors, or moods, by the variety of musical subjects. The opening phrase feels as though something should have preceded it, as if one had come into the middle of a conversation. It is a most unusual beginning, presaging a most unusual work. The printed key signature throughout the work is B-flat, but a key change occurs after the first eight bars. Keys are constantly shifted by means of accidentals and alteration between major and minor scales. Changes of mood are indicated in the score by titles or musical instructions as well as by new musical material. There are no designated movements, although the many relatively brief “humors” divide into five larger sections. Within each section, many different melodies, rhythms and dynamics are used, with little development or connection between them, although some themes do recur. Despite its general air of calm, there are measures where the music is sufficiently complex that it is printed in three staves rather than two. Schumann is known for his melodic gifts, which are on full display in the Humoreske, a work of often-subtle contrasts.

Claude Debussy (1868-1918) began piano studies at the age of 7 and considered a career as a concert pianist. However, as a young man he began to focus on composition. With the insight gained from his keyboard studies, he excelled at creating unusual colors, textures and sonorities in his piano works. The Suite bergamasque is a perfect example of Debussy’s ability to depict an atmosphere, in this case one of nostalgia, mystery and longing. French poetry of the latter half of the 19th century was very popular and was known for its almost-mythical atmosphere of the ancien rêgime and the fêtes galantes of the late 17th century, in which the upper classes were portrayed as spending their lives in languid pleasures. The works of Paul Verlaine (1844-1896) were especially evocative. Also, Debussy intentionally took the name of an earlier dance form, the bergamasque, which may have referred initially to peasant dances from the region of Bergamo, Italy. (Even Shakespeare, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, has a character call for a “bergomask.”) The form had been popular in the 18th and early 19th centuries, then fell out of favor until the late 1800s. The composition was dated 1890 on Debussy’s corrected first edition proofs, although alterations may have been made up to its 1905 publication. Throughout the work, common features include the use of parallel thirds and rippling accompaniments, an almost harp-like effect throughout the piano’s range, and a predilection for triplets. The first movement, with its gently flowing melody, is marked forte but after that, dynamic levels rarely reach above piano until the final fortissimo chords. The Menuet, although in three-quarter time, is not a dance but a delicate

30

movement echoing some of the first movement’s figurations. It begins in A minor but moves to several other keys before its pianississimo ending. The third and most famous movement, Clair de lune (Moonlight), is a depiction of Paul Verlaine’s poem of the same name. Debussy himself was apparently fascinated by moonlight, which may have influenced this wonderful depiction of an ethereal moonlit evening. The opening melody is composed of widely-spaced intervals, with prominent parallel thirds above a fairly static accompaniment. The second main theme has a narrow range but is equally melodic, with a fluid accompaniment. The finale, Passepied, has an air of stately forward motion in keeping with the original dance of that name. Staccato passages provide a change of pace, alternating with arpeggiated passages and chordal triplets over arpeggios. The final upward sweep leads to three delicate pianississimo chords.

Igor Stravinsky (1882-1972) was born in Russia and lived in Paris in the early 1900s. In 1911, he began composing a piece for piano and orchestra, using the familiar Russian stories of the puppet Petrushka as his inspiration. When the impresario Diaghilev heard the sketches, he begged Stravinsky to turn the work into a ballet. The Ballet Russes premiered Petrushka in June, 1911. The Petrushka character was somewhat similar to the French Pierrot/Harlequin character, and even to the English exploits of Punch (of “Punch and Judy” fame) audiences therefore responded enthusiastically to the ballet. In 1921, Stravinsky was approached by the pianist Arthur Rubinstein to write a piano version of the ballet. Stravinsky selected three episodes and developed them for the virtuoso, with the title Mouvements de Pétroushka. (Transliteration of the Russian name into French or English results in different spellings.) The story is set in a pre-Lenten carnival, at which Petrushka is one of several puppets being manipulated on a stage. Petrushka escapes from his handlers and becomes half-human. In the “Russian Dance,” the puppet runs into the crowd and begins to dance in jerky fashion. The action is depicted in short, rhythmic, pulsing phrases, with no thematic development. A few bars of quieter music are interspersed but overall the energy level remains very high. The next movement, “Petrushka’s Room,” begins vigorously and includes a number of what Stravinsky himself called “diabolical arpeggios.” The music is bitonal – in different keys simultaneously – and continues the jerky motion as Petrushka stumbles around. In the finale, the Shrovetide (Carnival) Fair once again becomes an important element of the action; the music indicates the rustling of the crowd, the awkward Petrushka evading his pursuers, and the denouement as he is returned to the puppet stage. The textures and harmonies shift dramatically, and at times the music is so complex that lengthy passages are published in three and even four staves. Stravinsky viewed the piano as a percussive instrument and makes fantastic use of that quality in the Mouvements. He wanted to create a work that would be worthy not only of Arthur Rubinstein (who played it frequently), but also would appeal to other virtuoso pianists. He succeeded in creating a work of lasting excitement for pianist and audience alike.

THE CAST DAN SASKI has been helping the RSC reduce expectations for years. He’s performed internationally in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) and regionally in The Ultimate Christmas Show (abridged) and The Complete History of Comedy (abridged). Dan also workshopped the premiere of William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged) and was introduced to the RSC when he was seen in The Complete History of America (abridged). He’s been an actor in and around the SF Bay area for the past 15 years and also teaches theater, so he can pay rent. Dan is a proud alumni of The Meisner Technique Studio. REED MARTIN has performed in forty-six states and eleven foreign countries, including New Jersey. Prior to joining the RSC in 1989, he was a clown with Ringling Brothers/ Barnum & Bailey Circus where he spent two years frightening children and smelling of elephants. He lives in Northern California with his wife and two sons, all of whom are much funnier than he is. Reed feels strongly that toilet paper should be fed over the top of the roll. AUSTIN TICHENOR wrote nine of the RSC’s ten Complete (abridged) shows, plus the irreverent reference book Reduced Shakespeare: The Complete Guide for the Attention-Impaired (abridged), with Reed Martin. He’s played recurring roles on Felicity, 24 and Alias, and guest starred as Guys In Ties on Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, and many shows like them. He and his wife Dee Ryan live in Chicago with two kids and too many cats. Twitter: @austintichenor

PRODUCTION STAFF ALLI BOSTEDT (Wardrobe Supervisor) took her first foray into theatre at age 4. She soon discovered that every stage has a backstage and has attempted to remain there ever since. BIBLIOGRAPHY FOR THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA (ABRIDGED): SPECIAL ELECTION EDITION Any scholarly work is dependent on the research of underpaid graduate students, and The Complete History of America (abridged) Special Election Edition is no exception. The list below, though well-typed, is by no means complete: in our attempt to grasp some ephemeral notion of truth, we scoured more texts and rare primary sources than we had the energy or attention span to count. The books below are a mere sampling of the wealth of knowledge available to the casual historian, and from which we gleaned1 many valuable insights. The Complete History of America (abridged) Special Election Edition is the result of years of scholarship, innuendo, and over-the-counter narcotics. A REDUCED HISTORY Since its pass-the-hat origins in 1981, the Reduced Shakespeare Company has created ten world-renowned stage shows, two television specials, several failed TV pilots, and numerous radio pieces, all of which have been seen, performed, and heard the world over. The company’s stops have included the White House, off-Broadway, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, London’s West End, Seattle Repertory Theatre, American Repertory Theatre and Montreal’s famed Just For Laughs Festival, as well as

36

performances in Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Malta, Singapore and Bermuda, plus countless civic and university venues throughout the USA, the UK, and Europe. The RSC’s first three shows – The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), The Complete History of America (abridged), and The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) – ran for nine years at the Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Circus as London’s longest-running comedies. For years the RSC had more shows running in the West End than Andrew Lloyd Webber. They were also funnier. In 2016, in honor of its 35th anniversary and the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, the RSC premiered its 10th stage show William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged) at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC. And in 2013, the RSC premiered the subject it was born to reduce – The Complete History of Comedy (abridged) – to critical and commercial acclaim at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. The “Bad Boys of Abridgment” have also applied their fast, funny and physical approach to World History in Western Civilization: The Complete Musical (abridged) [original title: The Complete Millennium Musical (abridged)], which toured simultaneously in the US, UK and Australia); Athletics in The Complete World of Sports (abridged), which played in London during the 2012 Olympics; Literature in All the Great Books (abridged); and the Movies in Completely Hollywood (abridged), which skewers the 197 greatest films of all time. All these shows have received critical acclaim across the US, UK, Belgium, Holland, Hong Kong, and Barbados, and played to packed houses at the Kennedy Center, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, San Diego Repertory Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Seattle’s ACT Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and Sweden (in Swedish!). And in 2011, the world premiere of The Ultimate Christmas Show (abridged) became Merrimack Repertory Theatre’s best-selling holiday show ever, and the third-bestselling show in MRT’s history. For TV, the RSC compressed the first five seasons of Lost into a ten-minute film called Lost Reduced, and was a Jeopardy! category in the 2005 and 2006 Tournaments of Champions. They wrote and starred in The Ring Reduced, a half-hour version of Wagner’s Ring Cycle for Channel 4 (UK), and reduced the Edinburgh Festival for BBC and the soap opera Glenroe for RTE Ireland. Shakespeare (abridged) aired on PBS and is available on DVD, as is America (abridged). For National Public Radio, the RSC has been heard on All Things Considered, Weekend Edition, Talk of the Nation, Day to Day, West Coast Live, and To The Best of Our Knowledge. The BBC World Service commissioned the six-part Reduced Shakespeare Radio Show. The Reduced Shakespeare Company Christmas was heard on Public Radio International. The RSC won the prestigious Shorty Award in New York City and the Delft Audience Award in Holland. They’ve also been nominated for an Olivier Award in London, two Helen Hayes Awards in Washington, DC, the SF Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award. Continued on next page.

What’s the difference between the Federalist Papers and the Articles of Confederation? The Papers explained the Constitution and urged its ratification; the Articles predated it, serving as the nation’s first binding constitution. 5. Which two Presidents died on the same day? Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on July 4, 1826. 6. What was Seward’s Ice Box? Alaska. 7. In whose administration was Elvis Presley an agent for the Drug Enforcement Agency? Richard Nixon’s. 8. When was the Era of Good Feelings? From 1817 to 1825. James Monroe was president and there was only one political party: the Democratic-Republican Party. 9. What does E Pluribus Unum mean? “Out of many, one.” 10. What did the Nineteenth Amendment do? Not adopted until 1920, it gave women the right to vote. 11. Who was Harriet Tubman? Abolitionist, spy, and escaped slave who made 19 trips back to the South to lead over 300 slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR’S NOTE I’ve been crazy about The Beatles’ music ever since I was a kid. When we first launched this project four years ago, the aim was to experiment with Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band while staying absolutely true to the album’s genius – an enticing challenge, given how dearly fans of The Beatles hold the original music. In a process that’s become characteristic of Art of Time, I delegated each of the tracks on Sgt. Pepper to an arranger whose sensibilities felt in tune with the song. We’ve embroidered upon the music, pushing the boundaries of the songs without altering the brilliant melodies and harmonies that lie at their core. It’s a real pleasure to be performing this music with these great singers and amazing musicians gathered from all kinds of musical backgrounds. I hope you enjoy.

ABOUT ART OF TIME ENSEMBLE Art Of Time Ensemble was formed in 1997 by artistic director Andrew Burashko, a renowned Toronto-based concert pianist, as an outlet for his vision to explore the intersection between high art and popular culture. With the support of a small group of like-minded musicians and prominent figures in other art forms including literature, dance and theatre, Andrew presented one-off concerts to small but enthusiastic audiences. Word of Art of Time began to spread through Toronto’s cultural scene, and the company has become a beacon for groundbreaking multi-disciplinary performing arts and artists in Canada and abroad. The ranks of Art of Time Ensemble’s artists are deep and their talents unmatched; featured collaborators include authors Margaret Atwood and Michael Ondaatje, The Cowboy Junkies’ Margo and Mike Timmins, jazz legend Branford Marsalis, vocalists Madeleine Peyroux, Sarah Slean, Hawksley Workman, and Tony Award® winner Brent Carver, composers Gavin Bryars and Jonathan Goldsmith, and many more. www.artoftimeensemble.com

BIOS ANDREW BURASHKO (Piano; Art of Time Artistic Director) Andrew Burashko is the founder and creative force behind Art of Time Ensemble. Born in Moscow, Burashko trained as a concert pianist across North America, making his solo debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at the age of seventeen. As a soloist, Burashko performed with some of the world’s most renowned conductors, including Sir Andrew Davis, Pinchas Zukerman, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. His eclectic musical interests have led him to share the stage with such diverse artists as Branford Marsalis, Peggy Baker and Madeleine Peyroux. In 1997, Burashko formed Art of Time Ensemble to produce unique concerts that ignore the barriers between genres and disciplines, with the aim of exposing audiences to a broad range of artistic possibilities. Under Burashko’s direction, Art of Time Ensemble has become a Canadian destination for today’s most accomplished artists working in music, dance, theatre, film, and literature. In addition to their annual concert series in Toronto, Art of Time Ensemble has toured extensively throughout Canada and

the United States, as well as in Russia and Finland. STEVEN PAGE (Singer) Steven Page’s distinctive and powerful tenor is among the most immediately familiar voices in popular music today. The singer/songwriter is a founding member of The Barenaked Ladies, with whom he toured the globe and sold millions of albums. On his own, Steven Page continues his artistic evolution with a diverse array of solo projects. Steven Page is working on his fifth Stratford Festival score, and in conjunction with Toronto’s innovative Art of Time Ensemble, he has collaborated on two releases, This Singer Must Die and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, as well as several live performances. With his flair for writing literate songs with catchy melodies, Steven Page continues to release original music including his critically acclaimed album Page One, his Genie – nominated track, “A Different Sort of Solitude” – featured in the film French Immersion – and his composition “A New Shore” – the theme for the 2014

CBC miniseries Best Laid Plans. A lifelong food and travel enthusiast, Steven Page journeyed across North America last year as host of The Illegal Eater, a television series which uncovers underground eateries and explores off-the-grid dining experiences. The show, which airs on Travel + Escape in Canada and Esquire TV in the US, also features a theme song and incidental music penned by Steven. He recently released Heal Thyself, Pt. One: Instinct. WESLEY STACE, aka John Wesley Harding (Singer) Wesley Stace was born in Hastings, Sussex in 1965. He has also published four novels, including the international bestseller Misfortune, the most recent being Wonderkid. He created Wesley Stace’s Cabinet of Wonders, a monthly show from NYC’s City Winery that airs on NPR. The New Yorker called it “one of the finest nights of entertainment this city has to offer.” Stace reviews for the Wall Street Journal and the Times Literary Supplement. He has taught at Princeton and Fairleigh Dickinson University. He lives in Philadelphia. ANDY MAIZE (Singer) Andy Maize is a singer-songwriter and co-founded the Canadian roots/rock band Skydiggers. The ‘Diggers have been writing and playing their way across the majestic landscapes of Canada for over a quarter-century. In celebration of their 25th year, Skydiggers released No. 1 Northern (2013), a covers album of classic Canadian folk and rock songs. Toronto-born and bred, Maize can also lay claim to co-founding Maple Music, a record label and e-commerce platform for Canadian artists and markets. Maple’s successes are

many, and include bolstering the careers of Sam Roberts and Kathleen Edwards, and distributing Radiohead’s three most recent records in Canada. Maize is no stranger to Art of Time Ensemble, having collaborated on projects for nearly a decade. His work with the Ensemble is diverse, and ranges from performing Abbey Road to writing songs inspired by Schubert; from joining the Lonely Hearts Club Band to singing songs of protest. Maize was a part of the original Ensemble production of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 2012. CRAIG NORTHEY (Singer) Vancouver’s Craig Northey is one of the principle singer-songwriters of the band Odds. Their debut album Neopolitan (1991) spurred a decades-long career, which saw their many records released in 20 countries. Odds went platinum with Good Weird Feeling (1995) and gold with Nest (1996), generating popular singles like “Someone Who’s Cool,” “It Falls Apart” and “Eat My Brain.” The Odds have been nominated for several Junos (including two nods for Best Songwriter) and acted as Warren Zevon’s backing band for the Mr. Bad Example tour. Northey is a “serial collaborator,” making albums and writing songs with friends such as Rosanne Cash, Steven Page, The Gin Blossoms, Tom Wilson, Rob Baker (of The Tragically Hip), Wide Mouth Mason and Colin James. His strong relationship to the comedy troupe Kids in The Hall opened the door to composing for film and TV. Amongst Northey’s credits are Brain Candy (1995), Dog Park (1996), Hiccups (2010-2012), Kids In the Hall: Death Comes to Town (2010) and the theme song for Corner Gas (2004-2009). E N D OW M E N TS Endowments provide a foundation of stability and support. Gifts to endowments are made with the understanding that the principal is continually preserved and the total amount of the gift is invested. Each year, only a portion of the interest earned is spent while the remainder reverts to principal. In this respect, an endowment is a perpetual gift. Wharton Center gratefully acknowledges those individuals/organizations that have funded named endowments through gifts of cash or their estate plans. John D. Barkham Endowment Kenneth C.
