A Visa of the Republic of Indonesia is issued in the form of a sheet of paper attached to a passport. The type of visa issued shall be based on the visa application. A Diplomatic Visa or a Service Visa shall only be issued to the bearer of a Diplomatic Passport or a Service Passport. Applications for Diplomatic or Service Visas should be accompanied by diplomatic letters or official letters. Visa applications may be done by proxy, except for Diplomatic or Service Visa applications. A visa application should be submitted to an Embassy or Consular Office of the Republic of Indonesia or other official designated by Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Visas shall be used within 90 (ninety) days, calculated from the date of issuance. Any foreign national who fails to use a visa within this designated period of time must submit a reapplication for a new visa. Types of visa : a. Short Visit Free Visa Facilities According to Presidential Decree No. 18/2003, President Decree No. 103/2003, and Presidential Decree No. 43/2011, a 30 (thirty) day visa free visit is currently granted at any immigration check points for nationals of the following countries : 1. Brunei Darussalam 2. Chile 3. Cambodia 4. Ecuador 5. Hong Kong Special Administration Region (Hong Kong SAR) 6. Laos 7. Macao Special Administration Region (Macao SAR) 8. Malaysia 9. Morocco 10. Myanmar 11. Peru 12. Philippines 13. Singapore 14. Thailand 15. Vietnam This entry permit cannot be extended nor converted to any other kind of visa. Requirements: • Original passport with validity of 6 (six) months at the date of entry. • Round-trip journey ticket. • A guarantee of funding to cover living expenses while in Indonesia might necessary.

b. Visa On Arrival In accordance with the Regulation of Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia No. M. HH-01.GR-01.06 dated 12 January 2010 (revised with Presidential Decree No.43/2011, citizens from 62 countries and 1 region are eligible for applying a Visa on Arrival (VOA). This visa can be obtained directly when you arrive at certain airports and seaports in Indonesia, regardless of the purpose of your visit (Business, Tourist, Social-Cultural). Visa on Arrival is neither a work visa nor a visit visa. Therefore, it can not be extended or converted into another immigration permit. The maximum stay permitted is thirty (30) days and could be extended (one time) for a maximum thirty (30) days.

c. Business Visa This visa is given to applicants going to Indonesia for normal business activities (including attending a conference/seminar) which do not involve taking up employment or receiving any payments whilst in Indonesia. The maximum length of stay is 60 days. The following documents should be submitted with an application for a business visa: • Completed visa application forms. • Two colored passport size photos • A valid passport (minimum validity of passport is 6 months as from the date of entry into Indonesia).

A Letter from the conference host setting out details, including the nature, duration and program of the conference/seminar. Evidence that the applicant has sufficient funds to maintain him/herself during his/her stay in Indonesia (e.g. a recent Bank Statement). Particularly countries needing “calling visa”, the photocopies of all pages of the passport must be attached (the whole pages of 1 passport book).

As of 20 March 2007, the fee of Business type of visa is $45.-
