Video Uploader Overview The Granicus Video Uploader allows you to upload one or more video files without file size limits.

Converting Content for Upload Before you can upload your content into Granicus, occasionally you will need to convert the content into a supported file, either WMA or WMV. There are multiple methods for converting your content. 1

Run the Content Over

The Encoder captures the content that goes to your cable channel. You can set your

Your Live Cable

older content in the middle of the night and set the Encoder to auto-record the

Broadcast

program. The Encoder compiles and uploads the content to the MediaCenter, so when you return in the morning, your content is ready for publishing.

2

Attach a DVD Player

You can capture content from a DVD by attaching a player to the back of your

to Your Encoder

Encoder. The Encoder has cords for precisely this function. You must set up a feed switch to tell the Encoder to capture content from the DVD player and not the cable feed.

3

Self- Encoding with

There are several quality programs for download that help you convert content from

Third-Party Software

one file type to another without involving the Encoder server. There are two programs available in the Support Resources menu of the Customer Service Portal: Windows Media Encoder 9 (a free Microsoft application that works with DVD’s and digital files) and Movavi Video Converter. With the Movavi option you would use a separate computer to convert your files, and then use the Granicus Video Uploader to upload that content into MediaManager.

4

A Second Encoder

You can purchase another Encoder that is not associated with the live feed but is used only for archival encoding. You can purchase one of these directly from us or order it yourself and have Granicus perform the software configuration. There are fees included in this option.

5

Send Content to

This option allows you to send your content to Granicus, where we encode it for you

Granicus

using a dub station. There is a per-video fee that would have to be negotiated to cover our costs (labor, dub station availability, etc). Please note if a video is ever corrupted during the live recording of a meeting, we perform this service for free.
