Context Providing cycle training is a core part of CTC’s mission because training is a key enabler to achieve CTC’s vision for the UK as a place where it’s easy and safe for people of all ages to cycle, whatever their ability, background or income. CTC’s training is a business with a social purpose: it must achieve demonstrable social impact and earn enough income to fully cover its costs and aim to provide CTC with a revenue stream. It is also expected to recruit new members to CTC, from amongst its trainees. Purpose of Role This position will lead the coordination of the CTC cycle training programme to ensure delivery of quality training programmes to meet the needs of the priority market segments in CTC’s strategic marketing plan for training. The role will be accountable for delivering planned courses on time, on budget and to the agreed quality; and for customer satisfaction with the courses. Scope of Role The Training Coordinator has primary responsibility for all the technical and delivery aspects of CTC’s training business including: developing and maintaining courses; recruiting, booking, managing and developing trainers; identifying, accrediting, booking and managing training venues; creating and applying internal quality assurance frameworks and complying with relevant external quality assurance standards. Specific Duties In the first year, the post holder will be expected to develop a range of systems and processes to deliver more effective ways of delivering CTC training courses, and in the second year to evaluate the effectiveness of these. 1. Contribute market intelligence, technical and operational knowledge to the strategic marketing planning process. 2. Coordinate marketing of CTC training courses through internal or external marketing resources 3. Help implement the strategic marketing plan:

a. Develop and maintain a plan for recruiting, managing and developing the existing community of CTC freelance trainers across the UK to deliver quality training programmes. b. Identify, accredit and manage sufficient training venues to deliver training programmes to CTC’s priority market segments. c. Devise and implement a quality assurance framework for CTC training services to ensure that courses meet customers’ needs and are rated highly by them. d. Maintaining any external accreditation which is required to operate in any of the priority market segments in any nation. e. Providing technical and operational input to the development of business cases for new courses, for entering new markets, or for withdrawing from existing courses or markets. If the business cases are approved, developing the new courses and produce the course materials. f. Continuously improving existing courses to meet market requirements. g. Produce a rolling schedule of public courses, ensuring CTC has the capacity to deliver. Booking the venues and trainers for these courses and ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget and to the agreed quality. h. Liaising with Membership Services to ensure they have what they need to provide customers with a quality customer booking experience and trainers with their course materials. i.

Providing technical and operational input to CTC’s relationship with corporate training customers and affiliate training providers.

Contributing technical and costing information to regular pricing reviews in partnership with the Head of Development.

k. Providing technical input to the writing of content for the CTC website and other promotional materials. l.

Supporting activity to promote membership, volunteering and member groups to trainees – particularly making sure trainers are equipped and motivated to play their role in this process.

Maintain good financial controls by ensuring that training delivery suppliers are paid promptly and accurately and that training delivery costs are coded accurately and in a way which provides actionable management information. 5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date course delivery records to provide management information. 6. Produce monthly activity reports and help the Head of Development produce a quarterly report for the Leadership Team on training’s overall performance. Producing other reports as required. 2

7. Working with the CTC Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to produce and implement a plan for evaluating the social impact of CTC’s training. 8. To respond, in a timely and professional manner, to training enquiries. 9. Attend Council, Member Group and other meetings as appropriate. 10. Carry out other duties as may be specified by the line manager from time to time. 11. Some weekend and out of hours work may be necessary.
