TRFS Support Services TRFS supports over 2,500 people across Scotland and provides a wide range of services designed to meet diverse needs. TRFS supports people with a range of abilities and support needs, including those with mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, people with autism, individuals with dementia and people with alcohol related difficulties. TRFS supports people of all ages. TRFS provides most of our support within peoples own homes, but we also offer services such as drop-in centres, respite and Care Homes. TRFS is keen to ensure that the voice of those we support is actively listened to, both in terms of the development of individuals’ support and in terms of our organisational development. The Job The Learning &Development Coordinator post is crucial to the delivery of quality learning opportunities within TRFS for staff at all levels. The post holder will support the Regional Learning Manager to develop and deliver training in all areas relevant to service provision. This post will also play a role in the SVQ agenda within the Region and within the wider organisation. They will also contribute to the development of the Learning and Development strategy.

Key Responsibilities 1 To develop and deliver training in line with the organisations learning and development strategy  Deliver agreed training  Review and adjust training as necessary in conjunction with RLM  Assist in the development of new learning and development opportunities, keeping abreast of new approaches within our spheres of work  Contribute to the evaluation of Regional and National learning opportunities 2

To contribute to the National and Regional SVQ Agenda  Undertake WPA and/or IV roles as required  Assist in the planning and contribute to SVQ induction and on going workshops  Attend local and national meetings as required to ensure the continuance of TRFS as an SVQ accredited centre  Contribute to the quality agenda within L&D and the wider organization  Reflect regulatory requirements, including National Care Standards and contractual obligations in learning and development opportunities  Contribute to appropriate quality assurance systems across the area and actively promote a culture of continuous improvement.  Promote and support the involvement of people we support in the delivery of training

To establish and maintain effective communication  Ensure effective communication networks are established and maintained with key stakeholders, both within TRFS and the external environment.  Work with Managers to assist in the identification of learning needs and to plan to respond to these  Promote TRFS in a positive manner

Additional Duties    

Participate in national developmental projects, as required Supervision of P/T member of L&D team. 13 hours per month Participate in national conferences and events or other work-related activities, as required. Undertake other duties as may be required by the Regional Learning Manager

Qualifications and Experience It is essential that the post holder has appropriate qualifications for the job or is committed to attaining these within reasonable timescales. Experience in the development and delivery of training is also essential as is SVQ Programmes and Assessment Experience. Safer Handling and experience of CALM is desirable. The post requires D32/33 or A1 Award, SVQ Level 3. Training for Trainers, V1 Award, Safer Handling and CALM is desirable. Additional Information All staff must familiarise themselves with all the Policies and Procedures of TRFS and work within both procedural and legal frameworks including Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities. In particular, all staff have a duty to ensure they comply with requirements under the Protection of Vulnerable Adults and Children. Prior to any unconditional offer of employment being made, TRFS requires the following compliances satisfied:  

Two satisfactory references. Compliance with Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. Qualifications/SSSC registration confirmation (if applicable).

PERSON SPECIFICATION REGIONAL LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR ATTRIBUTES ESSENTIAL Experience Experience in the development and delivery of training. SVQ Programmes and Assessment Experience Education, D32/33 or A1 Award Qualifications SVQ Level 3 or is committed to attaining and Training these within reasonable timescales.
