The 5 Counties/Top 100 Showcase Report Top 16 Game Report Leon Wells, 6’3, Junior, Ramona, A very polished player with post game and nice mid range shot. Can guard bigs and wings. Needs to get stronger drive game. Defensively stands a little to much. A very good athlete with a good understanding of the game. Big upside. Austin Sanford, 6’5, Junior, Narbonne, A very strong athlete. Tough and can board. Tends to linger on perimeter to much. Nice mid range shot and can drive a little bit. On the floor a lot for loose balls and hustle plays. Atonye Akamonde, 6’0, Junior, Citrus Hill, A freak athlete with monster hops. Rebounds well for his size. Can guard bigs and wings. Plays like a man for ½ game and than disappears sometimes. Shot needs to get better but can score in transistion. Big upside. Blake Carwile, 6’4, Senior, Corona, Nice high school post player. Needs to develop a little more wing skills for the next level. Plays hard and is a good passer. Very tough and can guard some bigs. Nice touch around 15 feet. A solid college prospect if he can develop the bounce. Nick Tate, 6’4, Junior, Citrus Hill, A good big guard that can drive the ball to the basket. Handles are ok, but needs to develop left hand. A streaky shooter with nice range. Needs to post defend better and rebound better. Good upside, long and rangy. Tough kid and should be a nice college prospect. Dion Hudson, 5’10, Senior, Bishop Amat, Very good athlete with complete drive game. Needs to slow down sometimes and feel for game situations needs to improve. Great attitude, hard

worker. Is a shut down defender, with great lateral quickness. Can really run a team when plays in control. Shot is ok to 17 feet. Has a good upside. Daniel Hopkins, 6’4, Junior, Arlington, Very good shooter with deep 3 range. Needs to get in stance on d and o. His drive game is improving and post defense is solid. Nice instincts and unselfish player. Can board def, needs to hit off boards more. A complete player with nice upside. Nick Paulson, 5’11, Senior, La Sierra, A fantastic scorer. Good passer with good instincts. Can defend and is very strong. Sometimes plays to level of talent but is very tough. Can get to rack or hit deep 3. Good college prospect. David Wedge, 6’6, Senior, Kaiser, A monster board man. Needs to finish better around rim. Can step out to 17 ft. Plays pick and roll well. Defensively is good, but sometimes gets to flat in post. Plays in a nice flow and is real good in transition. Causes some match problems, can guard smaller players. A big upside. Dylan Floyd, 6’8, Junior, Palm Springs, Can post real well. A solid rebounder. Tends to stand to much on D. If he keeps developing will be a nice college prospect. Can step out to 15 ft. Lateral quickness is ok. Good passer and good instincts. Chance Jolley, 6’6, Senior, Ramona, A good athlete with nice instincts. Can defend well and is good in transition. Needs work on handles, but is sneaky around bucket. A good post presence and nice mid range game make him a tough match up. A good college prospect. Stephan Sheppard, 6’7, Senior, LB Wison, A Tayshon Prince like player. Long, Rangy and athletic. Left handed. Drive game is good but can get better. Can shoot the ball and can post. Defensively takes to many possessions off. Good handles and can play multiple positions. A good college prospect.

Clay Gibbs, 5’9, Senior, LB Poly, A tough player with good skill set. Can handle well and runs a team, a good table setter. Can score the ball or defer. whatever you need him to do. Is good in transition and can shoot the ball well. High skill set and a good athlete. Needs to play pick and roll better and be more assertive sometimes. A nice player. Would make any college team better! Steve Watkins, 6’7, Junior, Olympian, A real good athlete that keeps getting better. Nice face up game, but needs to learn to play “inside/out”. A high riser with adequate handles. Can play multiple positions. A good college prospect. Attitude and court demeanor has really improved. Big upside! John Gilliam, 6’0, Junior, Upland, A cold blooded player. Loves to make the game winning shot. Tends to stand to much on defense and offense. A real good athlete. A great competitor. Can shoot the 3 or drive it. He has a 5th gear and can get up well, plus, he knows how to win. Defensively can guard PG’s or 2’s. A college prospect. Greg Latta, 6’6, Senior, Palm Desert, A nice post player with a great body. A very strong defender. Has worked real hard in the weight room. Can step out and shoot the 15 footer and can get to the rim. Post game is good. Needs more confidence and sometimes takes possessions off. Handles are ok, but can get better. A good college prospect.

Top 32 Game Report Julian Nichols, 6’1, Junior, Upland, nice wing player with good handles and nice feel. Rangy, with a nice shot. Mid range needs work. Def is pretty solid. Needs to get stronger. High IQ and good athlete. De De Baldwin, 6’0, Junior, Citrus Hill, Tough kid with very big upside. Needs a little more confidence but plays very hard. Great athlete, with good drive game, and can board for his size. Can defend bigger players. Can handle the rock and slashes well. Kendall Schmidt, 6’0, Soph, Riverside Christian, A real good offensive player with high skill set. Needs work on defense and playing hard all the time. Very good in open court and when he plays hard, “the sky’s the limit”. Great athlete. Tyler Payne, 5’10, Senior, Woodbridge, A great playmaker and great team player. Can handle, makes great decisions, and works very hard. A perfect SCIAC player. Very heady and gets into gaps/seams, fronts ball to open players and can knock down big shots. Mark Johnson, 6’6, Senior, Palm Springs, Very good rebounder and great hi low passer. Raw, but good athlete. Long and rangy defender. Needs better shot selection. Can guard a big or smaller wing.

Andre Walker, 6’0, Senior, Las Lomas, A very skilled guard that can beat you off the bounce or with the 3. Defensively is a lock down defender. Needs to get better defending post. Defered a little to much. Very unselfish. Plays at a good pace. Nice upside.

Evan Hicks, 6’9, Senior, Covina A big frame and nice hands. Needs to get in better shape. Works very hard and is extremely coach able. Can bang and gets boards. Very raw but with some work can be a competent player. Alton Sanford, 6’4, Junior, Narbonne, Very athletic, can score from different spots on the floor. Needs to defend better. Can rebound very well and is a tough match up. Can post defend and can guard some wing players.

Michael Ballotta, 6’2, Senior, Upland, The “Energizer Bunny” A high intensity, old school player. Tough and can shoot the 3. Defends and knows how to play. A good athlete. Needs to slash better to play at next level. A sleeper that makes coaches smile. Kendale Washington, 6’0, Junior, Citrus Hill, A terrific shooter that needs to gain more confidence. A very good defender, that can guard ones or twos. His drive game is good. Fits well into different styles of play. Needs to handle better. A very tough kid that has big upside. Sam Kruk, 6’1, Junior, Rim of the World, Terrific athlete, can rise and finish. Plays in streaks and sometimes disappears. When he brings it he is very tough. Can guard bigs and can score different ways. No one works harder and wants it more. Fantastic rebounder for his size. Brian Evans, 6’5, Senior, Claremont, Long athletic player. Post defense needs work. Plays hard and has good mid range game. Has to work on handles and get to rack better. Nice upside.

Raul Isiordia, 6’6, Senior, St. Anthony, Nice post feel. Can score in different ways. Shoots ball well and is good passer. A good athlete that needs a little more wing foot speed. Rebounds well, and can handle ball pretty good. Very Competitive.

Garret Keiffer, 6’5, Junior, Corona, A good team player. Nice mid range game. Makes good reads. Can shoot and defends well. Needs to rebound better. Nice all around game. Jordan Hiroshima, 5’8, Senior, Torrance, A smooth player with High IQ. Makes great reads and plays very hard. A real good 3 shooter with nice handles. Size is only limitation. Defends well and is great getting through screens. Very tough. JJ Moorer, 6’0, Junior, Torrance, A high skilled combo guard. Can shoot the 3 and get to basket. Tends to play at level of competition. Defensively has to get into people more. Has potential to be a big time player. Multiple ways to beat you.

Best of the Rest Report

JV Valle, 5’9, Junior, Heritage, A workaholic in the gym. Plays at good speeds. Can shoot the ball and plays very hard. A little undersized. Sam Finley, 6’0, Frosh, MLK, A good athlete with high skill set. Made some great plays. Handles well and attacks the basket. Watches to much and needs to be active. Buddy Agyin, 6’2, Junior, Corona, Plays real hard and is good defender. Needs to work on handles. Nice understanding of spacing. Shane Stanton-Carlise, 6’2, Soph, Murrieta Mesa, Good athlete with nice understanding of game. Drive game is solid. Shot needs needs to improve. Good on D, but takes some possessions off. Good prospect! Tyler Hill, 6’0, Junior, Bishop Amat, Very good athlete with nice overall game. Defended well and had good weekend. Needs to be more aggressive sometimes. Nice body and nice upside.

James Northrup, 6’1, Junior, Bonita, Extremely hard worker. Has nice handles and good understanding of game. Competes and has high skill set and high IQ. A player to watch for. Cecil Green, 6’0, Senior, Daughtery, Works very hard and is very competitive. Can handle and defends well. Needs work in half court set, but is good in transition.
