If your student would like to Tye Dye a T-shirt then they need to bring a white T-shirt with their name on it to ARTFEST. We will see all of our student artists at ARTFEST. We cannot wait!

ARTFEST DONATIONS We could use some households supplies……empty gallon milk jugs with screw on lids, empty margarine tubs, wood scraps, hammers, raw vegetables, beach umbrellas, 2 great funnels, and 2 plastic swimming pools. Raw veggies should not be in brought until the day of Artfest. Thank you very much!

ARTFEST PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARTFEST is right around the corner on Friday, May 6th from 12:30-2:30 pm. We need approximately 30 parent volunteers to assist in the booths. The 8th grade students will be the instructor/teacher of the craft at each booth. The parent volunteer will be there to assist and observe the 8th grade instructor. When ARTFEST closes the parent volunteer for that booth will need to sign the 8th grade student’s contract and give comments as to the quality of work. If you would be willing to donate a few hours of your time to assist in a booth, please email me at [email protected]. If you have any questions, you can also call at 469-688-9700. We also need five parent volunteers to do face painting, so if you are comfortable with this assignment please let me know. ARTFEST is one of the student’s favorite days of the year; it is a day they all look forward to. We need your help to make it happen.

This year at Artfest, we want to give our students who have been taking private or group lessons in instrumental music, vocal music, or dance a chance to perform on stage during the event. The intent is to reward all the hard work and effort these students have put forth in their lessons. Just about any art form that can be performed on a stage that is 12’ by 24’ by 2’ high is welcome provided that the student has been taking lessons. Gymnastics is the only thing that is not allowed because we do not have the necessary mats and safety equipment. Pieces and performances need to be 3 minutes or less in length. All recordings used to accompany dance routines, and all vocal music needs to reflect Catholic values. Please submit a copy of the music to be used by April 18th to be previewed by Mrs. Vickery. We will have a keyboard, microphone, CD player and electrical outlet. If your child requires any other equipment or props, we ask that you send/bring these to school on the day of Artfest. If your child would like to perform, please send an email to Mrs. Vickery at [email protected] with your child’s name, what they will perform and equipment needs from the list above.

FORE! All Saints 2011 and the ASCS Endowment Fund As Bishop Mark points out, FORE! All Saints, the annual golf tournament benefiting the youth of the parish, is just around the corner. Many of you may not be aware of the close link between the golf tournament and the ASCS Endowment Fund. Since 1996, the tournament has been a key source of funding which has helped the Endowment Fund grow to nearly $150,000. Over the past five years, the Endowment Fund has distributed $20,000 to ASCS students in need of financial assistance to attend the school. This coming school year, the Endowment Fund will again be called upon to distribute several thousand dollars to students in need of financial aid. Your support of FORE! All Saints helps make this possible. In 1996, permission was granted to name the Endowment Fund in honor of Kraig Frick, a nine year old parishioner at All Saints, whose family is totally committed to the support of Catholic education. Each participant in FORE! All Saints will receive a book entitled “Of Moose and Miracles,” the story of Kraig’s passing into eternal life and his prayer to help those who need it most. Establishing the Kraig Frick Memorial Scholarship Fund at All Saints was just one way of providing support to those who need it most. Following this page is a copy of the brochure for this year’s tournament. Please print it out and sign up today to participate as a player or as a sponsor. Last year was the most successful year ever. In addition to donating nearly $11,000 to the Endowment Fund, the tournament also provided the funding for the Altar Server program at All Saints, as well as a $2,500 contribution to Little Saints. For additional information, please call Steve Barrett at 214-693-6394 or email him at [email protected]. Thank you for your support of FORE! All Saints 2011.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT Since its creation in 1995, FORE! All Saints has raised over $125,000 for the youth of our parish. Your support of this event allows us to continue to provide quality youth programs. The majority of the funds raised will be distributed to students in need of financial aid at All Saints Catholic School (ASCS) and in our Little Saints pre-school program. Additionally, the tournament has been the primary source of funding for the Altar Server Program for several years.

The ASCS Endowment Fund was created in 1996 and honors the memory of Kraig Frick. Kraig, a remarkable young man whose life was tragically cut short by a brain tumor, was the son of Mike and Karyl Frick, long-time parishioners at All Saints. The Frick family’s total commitment to Catholic education has been a driving force in sustaining FORE! All Saints. Funds generated from this tournament have been the primary source of on-going funding for the ASCS Endowment Fund and the Kraig Frick Memorial Scholarship. Little Saints uses a developmentally appropriate curriculum for 1-4 year olds to develop the whole child to include their spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs. It is a Texas licensed, childcare facility operating within a Catholic environment. Funding from this event has allowed us to offer tuition assistance to families experiencing financial

hardship so their children can participate in this highly effective program. The Darryl Marchand Memorial Service Awards recognize outstanding contributions to the parish by our Altar Servers. Darryl’s service to All Saints provides an enduring example of selfless dedication and commitment to the All Saints community. The tournament provides the funding for these important awards, as well as for the annual Server Appreciation Dinner and other essential elements of this program. The Altar Server Program continues to flourish with record numbers and is grateful for your generosity and support.

FORE! All Saints 2011 Registration Please note: Sponsorship registrations need to be returned by May 10, and player entries are due on the 14h.
