What is Aloe Vera? Aloe Vera is a liliaceous plant, which grows in dry tropical countries. When you cut a leaf, you reveal a fleshy pulp that enables the plant to survive for long periods of drought and it boasts amazing therapeutic properties.

Pur’Aloé works in collaboration with Mexican farmers according to the “OperAequa” fair trade charter regarding the supply of raw material that is certified organic. The enforcement of these requirements is checked in the field on a regular basis by the “Bioagricoop” certification body.
Ciel d’Azur was created in 1991 through a desire to offer an alternative to products containing too many artificial ingredients, which past experience has taught us have a negative impact on public health. Back in June 2014, we chose to set up base in the heart of Provence, in Mane, near Forcalquier. Our building, recognised as a high-performance ecological structure, is equipped to the latest standards for both the food (beverages) and cosmetics sections.
Our manufacturing method IN MEXICO: The raw material, namely the Aloe Vera pulp, is manually extracted by the producers from leaves freshly gathered from the fields located near the pulp extraction room. This guarantees that the pulp will retain its rich concentration of polysaccharides, the natural constituents of Aloe Vera that are responsible for its action.

IN FRANCE: The pulp is not heated so as to protect the main active ingredients. It is kept cool in various refrigerated vats corresponding with the different stages of filtration that are required to remove the aloin, which is an undesirable element of the plant that is regulated. All these operations are carried out according to the latest standards in force, which notably include HACCP food standards (analysis and testing of critical points) and the GMP (good manufacturing practice) for cosmetics. At each stage of manufacture, our microbiology & physical chemistry laboratories perform quality analysis. All our end products are then inspected by Ecocert, regarding both the food (AB) and the cosmetics (COSMEBIO) sections. We do not use concentrated powder in the manufacturing of our products so they are LIVING, which guarantees an intense therapeutic effect.

External use Aloe Vera’s colourless, translucent pulp contains an impressive array of diverse molecules: polysaccharides, tannins, steroids, organic acids, vitamins, minerals and even proteins. Aloe Vera is traditionally used to treat burns, sunburn, grazes, scratches, insect bites, cuts, bedsores, chapped skin and sprains. Here is a non-exhaustive list of its main actions: moisturises the skin thanks to its ability to survive in an arid environment. It enables the skin to retain moisture and be nourished and regenerated, thus combating the effects of aging. penetrates the skin much more easily than water. It is rapidly absorbed into the epidermis to nourish the dermis and the hypodermis and activate microcirculation thanks to its abundance of polysaccharides. As such it speeds up the production of new cells. Thanks to its proteolytic enzymes, Aloe Vera removes the dead surface cells that clog the skin’s pores and asphyxiates them.
