Data on Colleges of Education There are 22 Colleges of Education in the State. The data on these colleges were collected recently and are presented here. The Universitywise distribution of these colleges is indicated in Table 1. The table also provides the postal address, telephone number, email address, website and year of establishment. Table 2 indicates the intake and the optionals offered by these colleges in B.Ed. Course. Table 3 indicates the specialisations/electives offered by the colleges in B.Ed. Course. Table 4 provides information on M.Ed. courses being offered by these colleges. The following colleges offer both M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes: N.K.T. National College of Education for Women Stella Matutina College of Education St. Christopher’s College of Education Sri Sarada College of Education Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education St. Xavier’s College of Education V.O. Chidambaram College of Education In addition, Lady Willingdon Institute for Advanced Study in Education and Thiagarajar College of Preceptors offers M.Phil. programme only and Lakshmi College of Education offers Ph.D. programme only. Some of the colleges also offer various other courses for the benefit of the teaching community. The information in respect of these courses is provided in Table 5.
