About the Collection Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library is a member of Clevnet, a consortium of 38 libraries in Northeast Ohio. Cleveland Public Library purchases the primary collection of eBooks from Overdrive, though Willoughby-Eastlake purchases extra copies for users with a WEPL card. To access extra copies you must sign in for availability. These titles are designated by an symbol.

FIND Open the web or internet on your device.

The ‘a’ symbol located on certain titles designates it as an advantage title. If you are signed in, this means the library purchased extra copies available to you.

Go to the address http:// emedia.clevnet.org. Tap or click Sign In and put in your library card number. Search for a title or author or browse . Optional: You can limit to copies available right now. In the right hand corner of each book there is an icon. A dark icon means it is available; a light gray icon means you will need to place a hold. Book is for eBooks; headphones are for audiobooks. Click on the book cover to view details about the book,

BORROW Once you find a book in the catalog, click the book cover and click Borrow. If you place a hold, you will be notified when the eBook becomes available and will have two days to return to the catalog and check it out. All eBooks you have borrowed or have on hold are listed in your Account. eBooks are checked out for 21 days. Once you have borrowed the

READ eBook, click Read (In your browser). The eBook will open and a brief tutorial will show you how to navigate the book. IMPORTANT: You must uncheck Show on Open at the end of the tutorial to be able to access your eBooks offline.

You can return titles early by going to your bookshelf and clicking Return Title. (Not available for all)

By using the bookmark feature in your eBook menu, you can easily find where you left off on any device.

Tap the center of your book, and tap Menu. Tap or click the Cloud icon and click Download. Add page to your browser’s bookmarks / favorites or add it to the home screen of your mobile device. COMPATIBLE WEB BROWSERS

Firefox and Chrome: Click the star on the address bar of the web browser. To access book, go to your Bookmarks. Internet Explorer 10 : From the Address bar, tap or click Pin site , and then tap or click Pin to Start. Safari (Mac): Click the + sign in the Safari toolbar. Type the name and click Add.

SMARTPHONES AND TABLETS

Safari (Mac): Tap the arrow button. Tap Add to Home Screen. Android: Tap the settings button (three dots) and then tap the star to access the bookmarks menu. To save to the home screen, open the bookmark menu and tap and hold and tap add to home screen. Kindle Fire & Nook HD: Access Web from your device. Tap add bookmark.

Isn’t there an app for that? The benefit of Overdrive Read is that you don’t need any special software or apps to read your eBooks. There are no special file types to worry about compatibility with your device and no extra passwords to remember. However, if you do not want to save all of your eBooks to your bookmarks / favorites or the home screen of your device, you can download the Overdrive Media Console app, which will store all of your eBooks in the app. Download the app from your app store or marketplace (for mobile devices). When you download the app, you will need to authenticate your device and sign in with your library card.
