Tethering your tablet to a Smartphone Tethering allows you to share your Smartphone’s 3G connection over Wi-Fi, allowing other devices (such as tablets) to connect to the internet. Tethering is also referred to as connecting to a Hotspot. Please check your data allowance before tethering your Smartphone to your tablet, to make sure you don’t incur excess charges.

This guide provides set up instructions for the following devices:

iPhones and 3G iPads (with operating system iOS 7 or above)

iPhones and 3G iPads (with operating system iOS 7 or above) 1. Touch Settings > Mobile or Cellular

2. Touch Personal Hotspot and slide the switch to the right to turn it On

3. Touch Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth if asked

4. You can now connect to your Smartphone from your tablet using the network name and password shown. If you wish to do so, you can change the password. To help minimise security risks, we strongly recommend using a strong and unique password. (ie. a combination of letters and numbers).

5. You can now search for this Personal Hotspot using your tablet. Select it from the list of available networks and enter the password to connect. After setting up this Hotspot, you can directly access the settings from Settings > Personal Hotspot

Blackberry 10 1. On the BlackBerry’s home screen, swipe down from the very top of the screen and touch Settings 2. Touch Network Connections and then scroll to Mobile Hotspot

If this is the first time you are creating a Mobile Hotspot, please follow the on screen instructions. Read the information provided carefully as it will supply you with important information regarding the Mobile Hotspot you are creating, including the name and password. To help minimise security risks, we strongly recommend using a strong and unique password. (ie. a combination of letters and numbers).

3. Slide the Mobile Hotspot switch to the right to turn it On. This will then display the Mobile Hotspot Name and session information page.

4. You can now search for this Mobile Hotspot using your tablet. Select it from the list of available networks and enter the password to connect.

HTC One 1. Touch Menu and go to Settings > More

2. Touch Mobile network sharing. Then tick the box next to Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. Touch the option for Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.

4.  Under ROUTER NAME (SSID) enter a personalised name for your Wi-Fi Hotspot or use the name generated by your device. A password will be displayed automatically but you may choose to enter your own password. To help minimise security risks, we strongly recommend using a strong and unique password. (ie. a combination of letters and numbers).

5. Tick the box next to Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot to turn On 6. Touch OK as the device is now ready to be used as a Mobile Hotspot. You will you see on the status bar.

7.  You can now search for this Portable Hotspot using your tablet. Select it from the list of available networks and enter the password to connect.

Nokia Lumia 620 1. Touch Start, swipe across and scroll down to touch Settings

2. Touch Internet Sharing

3. Slide the Sharing button to the right to turn it On. Your Hotspot is now visible and ready for use.

4. To personlise settings such as the Broadcast name and Password, touch Setup 5. Touch the Broadcast name and Password to personlise, then touch the Tick to apply. To help minimise security risks, we strongly recommend using a strong and unique password. (ie. a combination of letters and numbers).

6. You can now search for this Hotspot using your tablet. Select it from the list of available networks and enter the password to connect. 11

4. Touch Portable WiFi Hotspot and slide the button to the right to turn it On

5. Click OK to turn off Wi-Fi to enable the Wi-Fi hotspot

6. Touch Portable Wi-Fi hotspot to view the generated Wi-Fi network name and password to connect. You can personlise these settings if you wish by touching Configure.
