How to Read Your Progress Report

Introduction The Progress Report is the primary report for the Apprentice and Employer user to evaluate the progress of the Apprentice against the associated advisory targets and scope of work requirements. The report is broken down into several key sections. Each section is described below. Note that all screenshots have been taken from the Single Point Login database. To effectively read the Progress Report, there are a number of things that you need to look for: 1. How is the progress going against the advisory targets? 2. How is the progress going against the range of work, i.e. are you getting across all of the Core Work Areas? 3. As you progress, is the supervision level changing? Are you starting to Plan and Complete tasks? 4. Is there a reasonable spread of work, i.e. are you conducting all of your mandatory tests? Are you installing a range of electrical cables and electrical apparatus? eLogBook reports are generated live; which means they are generated the instant that you press the link requesting them. It is common that there will be a slight delay in displaying the page due to the processing time. Outstanding cards are cards that have not been verified. If an Apprentice has submitted a card for verification and the Employer or nominated supervisor has not verified the card, they will still appear here as outstanding.

Core Work Activities

Core Work Activities

The Core Work Activities bar graphs display the Apprentices’ progression against each Work Area in the database. Each Work Area is measured against a specific target measured in Experience Points. Experience Points are a calculated representation based on scaling hours using algorithms. Note that hovering your mouse over a segment of these graphs will generate a pop up displaying the actual numerical value of that section. The colours represented on the graph are as follows: •

This represents the required quantity of experience points for the Work Area. The target is the end of the blue section. These targets represent industry stakeholder input.

This area represents any data that may have been credited to the Apprentice from a Previous Work Recognition process (onjob component of an RPL).

This area represents the verified data entered by the Apprentice via their weekly summary cards.

This area represents data from the last 6 verified cards entered on the system. Therefore this represents that current work being performed by the Apprentice.

Core Work Activities Target Percentages

Core Work Activities Target Percentages

The Core Work Activities Target Percentages bar graph displays the progression of the Apprentice in each Work Area as a percentage of the target. This graph has been specifically included to highlight when an Apprentice has overachieved the targets. The graph is measured in percentage and the axis auto scales if 100% is exceeded. Note that hovering your mouse over a segment of these graphs will generate a pop up displaying the actual numerical value of that section.

Elective Work Areas

Just like the Core Work Activities bar graph, the Elective Work Areas bar graphs display the Apprentices’ progression against each Work Area in the database. Each Work Area again is measured against a specific target measured in Experience Points. Experience Points are a calculated representation based on scaling hours using algorithms. Just as the above graphs note that hovering your mouse over a segment of these graphs will generate a pop up displaying the actual numerical value of that section.

Elective Work Areas Target Percentages

Elective Work Areas Target Percentages

Just like the Core Work Activities Target Percentages bar graph, the Elective Work Areas bar graph displays the progression of the Apprentice in each Work Area as a percentage of the target. This graph has been specifically included to highlight when an Apprentice has overachieved the targets. The graph is measured in percentage and the axis auto scales if 100% is exceeded. Just as the above graphs note that hovering your mouse over a segment of these graphs will generate a pop up displaying the actual numerical value of that section.

Job Participation

The Job Participation graph graphically displays the spread of participation levels (Plan, Carry out, Complete). The numerical value displayed in the legend represents the number of actual times the associated participation level has been ticked on verified cards.

7

Support/Supervision

Support/Supervision

The Support graph graphically displays the spread of Support levels (Constant, Intermittent, Limited). The Supervision graph graphically displays the spread of Supervision levels (Direct, Broad, General). The numerical value displayed in the legend represents the number of actual times the associated Support/Supervision levels have been ticked on verified cards.

Range of Variables

Each Work Area is also represented by an associated Pie Chart. These pie charts represent the spread of the materials. The numerical value displayed in the legend represents the number of actual times the associated material has been ticked on verified cards. In some Work Areas where there are an excessive number of materials, this may be displayed as a bar graph to assist in interpretation.

Work Practices and Supplementary Work

Work Practices and Supplementary Work

The Work Practices and the Supplementary Work data are displayed on a combined bar graph. The numerical value displayed next to the item represents the number of actual times the associated material has been ticked on verified cards.
