BMR Choice

Lush

The Brown Mid Rib Silage Specialist.

Highly Productive, Quick Feed. Lush is one of the most popular summer forages in Australia. Having been marketed for over 20 years, Lush has found a new niche with livestock producers as intensive management skills have been introduced more widely to forage sorghums. Lush is very quick to first grazing, has excellent regrowth and low prussic acid levels. It has proven to be a highly productive forage for beef, and dairy producers.

BMR Choice has been specially bred to suit the silage market. In one of our farmer trials BMR Choice was grown under extremely tough dryland conditions for pit silage and still managed to yield 24.95 tonnes per hectare, with a Relative Feed Value of 117. BMR Choice can also be cut early when the plants are 1 metre to 1.5 metres in height to make very good quality hay.

• Silage Specialist • Superior 12 gene BMR pedigree

Mel, Cam and Josh Mengel, “Kia Ora”, Nobby.

• Sorghum x sweet sorghum type

Everlush

Hunnigreen

Highly palatable Ultra Late Flowering forage.

Sweet Leafy Feed for Longer - and a Safer Option. Hunnigreen is an Ultra Late flowering sweet sorghum that will not flower until daylight hours are less than 12 hours, 20 minutes. This provides leafier, high quality feed right through the summer. This also means your cattle are at less risk from sorghum ergot with Hunnigreen, as ergot only infects the plant at flowering. Hunnigreen can provide up to three months leafier, safer grazing than some older traditional type sweet sorghums. Example below:

Everlush is one of a new range of top quality forage sorghums from HSR Seeds that will make grazing management easier. Because it will not flower until day length is less than 12 hours 20 minutes, it will maintain a high leaf to stem ratio, with less rank, stalky feed.

• Ultra Late Flowering for more quality feed for a longer grazing period

• I mproved palatability for higher intake per head and improved productivity • Sudan grass x sorghum type • Very fine stems and leaves • Excellent for hay making • Safe low prussic acid levels • Ideal for early grazing.

• Excellent for silage • Leafy with excellent palatability • E xcellent standover feed for late grazing into autumn and winter

WHO SHOULD GROW Everlush? Farmers seeking a truly versatile forage that will provide quality feed and a bulk of it. It is an excellent hay variety and being highly palatable is a great choice for intensive and extensive grazing situations.

• Can be grazed all summer • Ultra late flowering means more feed for longer • Will not run to head as quick as some sweet sorghums, so less exposure to Ergot risk.

Will West “Caloona Charolais” Tamworth, NSW. “Everlush is an excellent feed with the stalks being smaller and more palatable than other forage sorghums. It produces outstanding hay and silage and is easier to graze with low prussic acid levels.Overall very versatile with a bulk of early to late feed”.
