Erfolgsgeschichte / Story of success 1995 Der deutsche Ground Zero Vertrieb wurde in der Nähe von Frankfurt als Ultimate Sound / MaGmA GmbH von Karl F. Lautner und Peter Unterharnscheidt gegründet. Seit Anbeginn widmete sich das Unternehmen dem Vertrieb außergewöhnlicher Car-HiFi-Produkte „Made in USA“. The company Ground Zero was founded in Frankfurt, Germany, by Karl F. Lautner and Peter Unterharnscheidt under the name of Ultimate Sound / MaGmA GmbH. From the very beginning, the company focused on distribution of outstanding car hifi products ”Made in USA“.
1997 Die Revolution im Subwooferbau! Die amerikanische Firma Ground Zero entwickelte in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Lautsprecherentwickler Bob Carver eine bis dato nie dagewesene Subwooferkonstruktion, die in der Lage war, Tiefbass mit extremen Pegeln in kleinsten Gehäusen zu erzeugen. Breite, harte Sicken, überdimensionierte Magnetantriebe, extrem schwere Membranen und sonstige bis dahin für unmöglich gehaltene Konstruktionsmerkmale sorgten für großes Aufsehen in der Car-Hifi-Szene. Die heutige Ground Zero GmbH sicherte sich in diesem Jahr die Vertriebsrechte dieser Subwoofer für den europäischen Markt. The revolution of subwoofer construction! In cooperation with the speaker designer Bob Carver, the American company Ground Zero developed an unprecedented subwoofer construction that was able to produce lowest bass with extreme levels in tiny enclosures. Huge, strong surrounds, oversized magnets, extremely heavy cones and more incredible construction details that have been unimaginable till then, caused a sensation in the Car Hifi scene. The current Ground Zero GmbH took over the rights of sale for these subwoofers in the european market.
1999 Das Unternehmen zog in die Gemeinde Egmating bei München und übernahm die Ground Zero Markenrechte für Europa. Fortan fand hier neben dem Vertrieb nun auch die Entwicklung sämtlicher Produkte und der Service statt. Die GZ-eigenen Subwoofer- Konstruktionsprinzipien werden seitdem kontinuierlich weiter verbessert, das Produktsortiment durch leistungsstarke Endstufen und hochwertige Lautsprecher vervollständigt. The company moved to the town Egmating near Munich and got the complete trademark rights for Europe. From there on, the development of all products and service took place there. The GZ-typical subwoofer construction details were improved continuously, the product range has been completed by powerful amplifiers and high quality speakersystems.
2000 Die ersten in Deutschland entwickelten Subwoofer (GZPW 15 & GZNW 15) brechen alle Schalldruckrekorde bei der autohifi. The first subwoofers designed in Germany (GZPW 15 & GZNW 15) were able to set new sound pressure records measured by autohifi.
2002 Die ersten digitalen Hochleistungsendstufen aus deutscher Entwicklung sorgen für Aufruhr - die GZPA 1.3000D ist die derzeit leistungsstärkste Monoendstufe auf dem Markt. The first digital high power amplifiers developed in Germany caused a sensation - the GZPA 1.3000D is the most powerful mono amplifier on the market at that time.

2003 In diesem Jahr gelang es dem Unternehmen, auch über die Grenzen Europas hinaus die weltweiten Markenrechte für die Marke „Ground Zero“ zu übernehmen. So wurde Ground Zero zur Eigenmarke und das Unternehmen in „Ground Zero GmbH“ umbenannt. 2004 Eine neuartige Schwingspule mit 8 Lagen Flachdraht und 4 x 1 Ohm verhelfen dem GZPW 15XQ auf den 15“ Subwooferthron. A new voice coil type with 8 layer flat wire and 4 x 1 Ohm helped the GZPW 15XQ to become the best 15” subwoofer.
2005 Ground Zero entwickelte die inzwischen legendären SPL Woofer der Nuclear und Plutonium Serie, die zu unglaublichen Leistungen von bis zu 10.000 W SPL Power fähig sind. Zahlreiche Weltrekorde in vielen Klassen der dB-Drag-Wettbewerbe gingen von dort an auf das Konto der GZ – SPL Subwoofer – schier unzählige Auszeichnungen der Fachpresse folgten. Die Farbe Gelb steht seit diesem Jahr für kompromisslose Subwoofer, die in der Lage sind, Schalldrücke jenseits der Vorstellungskraft zu erzeugen.

Ground Zero manufactured the meanwhile legendary SPL woofers from Nuclear and Plutonium series. These woofers are able to provide unbelievable SPL Power ratings up to 10.000 W. Numerous world records in many classes of dB Drag competitions were setted with those GZ – SPL Subwoofers – almost countless awards of the specialized press followed. Since this year, yellow stands for thoroughgoing subwoofers that are able to produce pressure levels beyond all imagination.
2006 Die Firma expandierte und zog mit Ihren Mitarbeitern in das eigens erbaute Firmengebäude samt Warenlager am Rande von München um. The company expanded and moved to the newly built company building including an own warehouse near Munich.
2007 Die Ground Zero GmbH wird für Ihre langjährigen Erfolge im Subwooferbereich bei der autohifi Leserwahl zur „Best Brand“ gewählt. Auch international zählen die Ground Zero Subwoofer zu den Besten. So überzeugt der GZPW 15SPL und wird von der EISA zum „European Mobile Subwoofer of the year“ ernannt. Die gigantische GZPA 2.20000SPL bricht alle bisher dagewesenen Leistungsrekorde. Dieses Jahr war auch die Geburtsstunde der neuen Gehäusesubwoofer. Ab der Radioactive Linie aufwärts erhielten alle Gehäusesubwoofer ein neues, edles Design mit beleuchteter Plexiglas Front.
