ST. BENEDICT CATHEDRAL SCHOOL April 14, 2016 PARENT NEWSLETTER NEWS FROM SR. KARLENE

SURPRISE VISITOR FOR GRADE 3 Thursday, Mrs. Carol R., made an appointment with me to share her absolute delight about an VOICES article that recently appeared in the Evansville Courier. Mrs. Carol R. and her support group of cancer survivors wanted to tell two of our young authors, Elise Brown and Landen Shelton, of their delight that young children wanted to be famous for curing cancer. Mrs. Carol R. brought special notes written to the two third graders, encouraging them to follow their dream of working to remove the pain of any form of cancer. Mrs. Carol R. was thrilled to meet the entire third grade class. The act of kindness by Carol made my day. She also notices that St. Ben’s always has a good representation of writers in the Evansville Courier.

April 7, 2016

Dear Patrons and Supporters of Reitz Memorial Athletics, I would like to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Charles Roberts and was named Director of Athletics at Reitz Memorial High School in June 2015. I graduated from Memorial High School in 1996 and know first-hand the legacy and tradition of Memorial Athletics growing up as a youth, as a RMHS student-athlete, and from afar as an alumnus. Tradition and excellence define athletics at Memorial. Our hard working student-athletes, led by fine coaches, represent Memorial in one of the most competitive leagues in the state of Indiana. The Southern Indiana Athletic Conference (SIAC) provides an opportunity for our athletes to compete at a high level and pushes them to excel. Memorial strives to be a leader in athletics at the local, regional, and state levels. In closing out the 2015-16 school year, a final effort to support all of our athletic programs is our annual summer golf scramble event. I want to thank you for your previous support and I ask you become a sponsor and/or participant in the 2016 Memorial Athletics’ Golf Scramble on Friday, June 3rd, 2016 at Cambridge Golf Club. Lunch will be served at 11:15 AM with a Shotgun start at 12:00 PM. I encourage you to gather friends and family and enter a foursome or to individually sponsor this event through your personal place of business. The goal of this TEAM initiative is to allow all boosters and alumni to participate as a whole for the betterment of all Memorial Athletics while enjoying a day on the golf course. Please note the deadline for sponsorship is Monday, May 23rd. I have included a 2016 Golf Scramble registration form. In addition, the Athletic Department will have 2016-17 home athletic event season passes available for sale during the outing as well as an opportunity to purchase Memorial athletic apparel. I look forward to seeing you for a great day of golf with friends and Tiger fellowship. Fight Tigers Fight! Respectfully, Charles L. Roberts Director of Athletics Reitz Memorial High School
