PARISH FINANCE REPORT: At Masses this weekend, members of the Parish Finance Council will present the Annual Parish Finance Report. The Report covers income and expenditure for the period 2015/2016 and the budget for 2016/2017. Copies of the report are available on the tables at the east and front doors. Please take and read at your convenience. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS: Four very interested and committed people have commenced another part of their faith journey through the R.C.I.A. process. We ask you to pray the following prayer for Angela, Fiona, Roseline and Sarah. In the near future these candidates and catechumen will be presented to the community. God of power, look upon these your servants as they deepen their understanding of the Gospel. Grant that they may come to know and love you and always heed your will with receptive minds and generous hearts. Teach them through this time of preparation and enfold them within your Church, so that they may share your holy mysteries both on earth and in heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen SPRED IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS: During the month of October SPRED is having its annual recruitment drive. We are looking for volunteers to begin in February next year. LITURGY WORKSHOPS: Formation sessions for Extraordinary Ministers of Communion and Ministers of the Word (Readers) will be offered on 13th and 27th October respectively. These workshops will run from 10:00am till 12:00 noon (with a cuppa from 10:00-10:30) and repeated in the evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, in the Parish Centre. John Briffa, Diocesan Liturgy Officer, will present these workshops. Please put these dates in your diary. AN INVITATION TO AN AFTERNOON OF CLASSICAL MUSIC – SATURDAY 1st OCTOBER: Alissa Bermingham, together with several of her classmates from the Bachelor of Music program at USQ, will be offering an afternoon of classical music in St Thomas More’s Church on Saturday 1st October, at 2:00pm. No entry charge, but a suggested gold coin donation to Rosies – Friends on the Street. There will be an afternoon tea following the concert. All are most welcome. USQ PEACE WEEK CELEBRATIONS – TUESDAY 4th TO THURSDAY 6th OCTOBER: You are invited to attend the ‘USQ Peace Week Celebrations’. On Tuesday 4th October, at the USQ Refectory, from 10:30am to 1:00pm, there will be a peace week activity with a number of excellent speakers, beautiful musical entertainment and some light refreshments.
