The functioning of the melt-X

In das volumetrische Förderaggregat sind zwei aussenverzahnte Zahnräder eingebaut, die beim Drehen ineinander greifen. Im Pumpeneinlauf reicht ein geringer Druck zum Füllen der Zahnkammern. Auslaufseitig bewirkt das abwechslungsweise Ineinandergreifen der Verzahnung das Verdrängen der Schmelze in den Zahnkammern. Die Kräfte der Zahnradwellen werden von je zwei Gleitlagern aufgenommen. Diese werden vom Kunststoff geschmiert und arbeiten wartungsfrei.

The volumetric pumping device has two externally toothed gearwheels that mate with each other when they rotate. A small pressure in the pump inlet is sufficient to fill the tooth chambers. On the discharge side, the mating of the gear teeth in each other forces the melt out of the tooth chambers. The forces on each of the gear shafts are taken up by two slide bearings. These are lubricated by the plastic and are maintenance-free.

Diese Entwicklungen ermöglichen es der melt-X Schmelze mit mehr als 80% Füllstoffanteil zu fördern. Voraussetzung dafür ist u.a. die exakt aufeinander abgestimmte Verzahnung zu den Gleitlagern.

Improved lubrication channels und tooth geometries are good for low shear stress in the melt and result in a small temperature rise. These developments allow the melt-X to pump melts with solids contents in excess of 80%. A prerequisite for this is, amongst other things, that the gear teeth and the slide bearings are perfectly matched.

Verkleinerte und strömungsoptimierte Produktkanäle erhöhen die Fliessgeschwindigkeit. Die abgestimmten Komponenten der melt-X ergeben deren herausragende Selbstreinigung. Für häufige Farbwechsel steht Ihnen das e p r o t e c bleeding valve zur Verfügung, welches sich seit der Markteinführung 2002 vielfach bewährt hat. Verschiedene High-Tech Werkstoffkombinationen werden für die modular aufgebaute melt-X eingesetzt, um sie der Aufgabe anzu passen. Sonderbeschichtungen, auch für die komplette Schmelzepumpe, bieten besonderen Schutz vor Abrasion oder Korrosion. Gleitlager mit guten Notlaufeigenschaften und langer Lebensdauer sind kein Widerspruch, wie e p r o t e c eindrücklich beweist.

Smaller and flow-optimised product channels increase the flow velocity. The perfectly matched components of the melt-X are the reason for its excellent self-cleaning. For frequent colour changes, you can use the e p r o t e c bleeding valve, which has proven itself many times since it was first introduced in 2002. Different combinations of high-tech materials are used for the modular designed melt-X in order to fulfil the specific task. Special coatings, also for the whole of the pump, offer special protection against abrasion or corrosion. Slide bearings with good emergency-running properties and long life are not a contradiction in terms as e p r o t e c has impressively proven.

Our melt-X melt pumps have flow-optimised inlets and outlets and make a broader range of applications possible. The flow channels, slide bearings and gear teeth are carefully matched to ensure the melt is pumped in a gentle manner. Residence times are minimised. The functioning of the melt-X

Auslaufseitig bewirkt das abwechslungsweise Ineinandergreifen der Verzahnung das Verdrängen der Schmelze in den Zahnkammern. Die Kräfte der Zahnradwellen werden von je zwei Gleitlagern aufgenommen. Diese werden vom Kunststoff geschmiert und arbeiten wartungsfrei.

The volumetric pumping device has two externally toothed gearwheels that mate with each other when they rotate. A small pressure in the pump inlet is sufficient to fill the tooth chambers. On the discharge side, the mating of the gear teeth in each other forces the melt out of the tooth chambers. The forces on each of the gear shafts are taken up by two slide bearings. These are lubricated by the plastic and are maintenance-free.

Improved lubrication channels und tooth geometries are good for low shear stress in the melt and result in a small temperature rise. These developments allow the melt-X to pump melts with solids contents in excess of 80%. A prerequisite for this is, amongst other things, that the gear teeth and the slide bearings are perfectly matched.
