Spalding County Fire Department Monthly Activity Report Monthly Activity Report for November 1st – November 30th 2014  Special Details performed by fire personnel: 11.01.2014: Engine 1, Engine 4, and Battalion 1 went to a Community Wellness Fall Festival at New Hope Baptist Church. 11.01.2014: Engine 5 and Battalion 1 went to Center Point Church to participate in “Final Approach” Detail. 11.02.2014: Engine 1 and Battalion 1 went to Center Point Church to participate in “Final Approach” Detail. 11.03.2014: Fire Safety House Detail at Child Care Network (1609 Williamson Road). 100 Pre-K Kids and 50 after school kids went through the Fire Safety House. 11.03.2014: Captain Harold Williams was promoted to Fire Marshal.

11.04.2014: County Poll Workers here for general elections held at Station 1, Station 2, Station 3, Station 5, and Station 6 from 0700 – 1900hrs. 11.04.2014: Capt. Lyons and Capt. Bankston attended a Professionalism & Ethics Course at GPSTC. 11.04.2014: B/C Jones and Lt. Ellis attended a GSAR Training session. 11.05.2014: GEMA Hazardous Material Awareness Class held a Headquarters Station. 11.05.2014: Vol. Daniel Adams rode with Engine 1 on calls. 11.06.2014: Engine 7, Engine 1, and Battalion 1 along with the Fire Safety House reported to Childcare Network at 1140 Cowan Road for public fire safety education.

11.07.2014: Eng-2, Sq-3, and Batt-1 went to Futral Road Elementary for Fire Safety House Detail. 11.07.2014: Eng-6 went to Center Point Church to participate in their production of “Final Approach”. 11.08.2014: 11.07.2014: Eng-1 and Battalion 1 went to Center Point Church to participate in their production of “Final Approach”. 11.09.2014: 11.07.2014: Eng-1 and Squad 3 went to Center Point Church to participate in their production of “Final Approach”. 11.10.2014: Fire Safety House Detail at Orrs Elementary School. 11.10.2014: Spalding Fire, Spalding Regional EMS, Emergency Communications (911), and the Spalding County Sheriff’s Dept. held a Service Panel Presentation for the residents of Sun City Peachtree.

Spalding County Fire Department Monthly Activity Report Monthly Activity Report for November 1st – November 30th 2014 11.11.2014: Engine 1 and Battalion 1 went to Moreland Rd. School for a fire safety detail. 11.11.2014: Chief West, Chief Clark, Chief Polk, of the Spalding County Fire and Office of Homeland Security, and Fire Marshal Williams met with Atlanta Gas and Light for planning for upcoming drill. Sheriff Beam, Tim Crane (Public Works), Okeshia Etheridge (911) were also present.

11.11.2014: Engine 6 went to Cowan Rd. Elem. School for Flag retiring ceremony. 11.11.2014: Cub Scout Troop 109 arrived at station for a station tour and to go through the Fire Safety House. 11.11.2014: 11.01.2014: Chief Clark tested and installed 16 smoke detectors for residents of Sun City Peachtree 11.12.2014: Shift C received piercing nozzle kit training. 11.12.2014: Chief West and Chief Polk attended an Infectious Disease Summit Course at GPSTC. 11.13.2014: Griffin Fire used burn building at Headquarters for training. 11.13.2014: Capt. Goodman was showed new piercing nozzle kit to train shift personnel with starting next week. 11.13-11.14.2014: Spalding County Fire Dept. hosted a GEMA class for Rescue Specialist at HDQ Station. (0830-1600) 11.14.2014 Chief Clark and Chief Slaughter attended the area 4 table top meeting at the Hospital from 10 to 12. 11.14.2014: Chief Slaughter trained with the personnel at station 7 for 1.5 hrs on the new AED, Piercing Nozzle and Pulse OX. 11.14.2014: Battalion 1 trained with the personnel over the AED, Piercing nozzle and the pulse ox for 1.5hrs Night Training. 11.14.2014: Megan Lummus (Parks & Rec.) and Melissa Jackson (Fire) went to the Annex to draw names for our United Way Gas Card Fundraiser. They then distributed the gas cards to the winning employees.

(1815hrs) 11.17.2014: Michael Boggs dropped off the 2015 Country Ordinance Violation Calendar for Magistrate Court. 11.17.2014: Chief West, Chief Clark, B/C Jones, B/C Slaughter and Captain Goodman met in the day room over the recruit school coming up. 11.17.2014: Chief West, Clark and Slaughter attended the Policy and procedure class at the Annex over Alcohol and substance abuse for 3hrs from 1p to 4p. 11.17.2014: Engine 1, 2, Battalion 1 and J. Chastain went to Affairs remembered for a banquet dinner for volunteering for the Final approach at Center Point Church. 11.18.2014: David Young brought by canned food items for Canned Food Drive. 11.18.2014: Engine 2 and Battalion 1 along with Chief West reported to Spalding High School for fire extinguisher class until 10:30. 11.18.2014: Battalion Chief Slaughter and Adam Marat conducted infectious control, pulse oxygen meter, and AED procedures with the whole department, they first meet with station 4, station 5, and station 1 at Norton Station; they later meet with station 2 and station 6 at Cabin Station. 11.19.2014: D. Sims and J. Odom took a Supervisor preparation course at UGA griffin campus. 11.19.2014: Eng-3 and Eng-5 completed driver training. 11.19.2014: Batt-1, Eng-2 and Eng-6 en route to Station 3, Adam Marat conducted infectious control, pulse oxygen meter, and AED procedures with personnel. Capt. Lyons trained over transforming piercing nozzle with Eng-2 (Lt. Miller, M. Baker) and Station 3 (T. Berry, R. McIver, J. Byrd and K Seigler) personnel. 11.19.2014: Eng-4 and Eng-5 en route to Station 7, Adam Marat conducted infectious control, pulse oxygen meter, and AED procedures with personnel. Capt. Lyons trained over transforming piercing nozzle with Eng-4 (Lt. Jones, C. Holloway), Station 5(K. Dufresne, K Chambers) and Station 7 (Capt. Goodman, K. Hollums, J. Odom and D, Sims) personnel. 11.19.2014: Capt. Lyons stopped by station 6 to train personnel (M. Kimbell, D. Pelchat) on new piercing nozzle. 11.20.2014: B/C Slaughter taught class to Chief West, Polk, Fire marshal Williams and T. West and Goss from A Shift, over the new AED, Pulse Ox and other medical equipment. 11.20.2014: Battalion 1 went to station 7 with Chief Mercer to give him and his staff a tour of the station as per Chief West request. 11.20.2014: Vol. A. Peavey arrived here to ride on engine 1. 11.20.2014: All stations went to HQ to receive their new AED and medical equipment. 11.20.2014: Lt. Tate, Melissa Jackson, Griffin-Spalding County School System employees and DFACS employees purchased Christmas gifts for children who have been

Spalding County Fire Department Monthly Activity Report Monthly Activity Report for November 1st – November 30th 2014 placed in DFCS custody. Our Annual Firefighters for Kids Golf Tournament funded this project. 11.21.2014: Engine 3 conducted driver’s training with Jordan Slaughter. 11.21.2014: Center Point church youth group reported to Headquarters Station for a scavenger hunt. 11.22.2014: Chief Polk dropped off donated canned food for our Thanksgiving Food Drive for Fives Loaves and Two Fish Food Pantry.

11.22.2014: Little league team – Emerald (11 kids and 11 adults) toured Headquarters Station. 11.22.2014: Engine 4 and Squad 3 personnel did a Fire Safety House Detail at Sunnyside Methodist Church. 11.25.2014: Fire Safety House Detail at the Festival of Lights at Airport Road. 11.26.2014: Vol. D. Adams arrived here to ride on Engine 1. 11.27.2014: Fire Personnel went to ring the bell for Salvation Army at Big Lots; -Eng-1 from 9-11am, Eng-6 from 11am-1pm, Eng-4 from 1-3pm, and Eng-7 from 35pm. 11.30.2014: Eng-6, Eng-7 and Eng-1 personnel at HDQ to train over piercing nozzle equipment.
