COMPONENT EXPORTS Through GM South Africa’s supplier base the company exports catalytic convertors, stainless steel exhaust components. (Catalytic convertors account for 95% of component exports business)
Key markets include United States, Mexico, South America, Europe, South Korea and China.
GM South Africa facilitates the export of nearly 3 million catalytic converters per year which accounts for 27% of total catalytic converter export revenue.

Last year the Chevrolet Spark was named as the first-ever supermini to win the coveted IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Pick award in the United States.

GMSA CHILDLIFE FOUNDATION
For every vehicle sold in South Africa GMSA, its dealer network and GMSA Financial Services contribute to the GM Childlife Foundation. Since its inception in 2010 the Foundation invested more than R12-million in 54 child-focused projects across South Africa. The projects include feeding schemes, school transport, building and renovations, and other practical assistance to schools, day care centres and after care centres. Spent R12-million since 2010

GM SOUTH AFRICA FOUNDATION The GM South Africa Foundation is the primary driver of the company’s community development activities and has a proven track record in partnering with Government and other development and education organisations to facilitate effective delivery on two of South Africa’s most critical challenges – public schooling and State-subsidised housing. The Foundation has reached more than 125 000 people throughout the country since its establishment in 1994, and its significant contribution to socio-economic transformation has been recognised with numerous national and international awards.
