Two Part Process PART 1: ROOMMATE SELECTION

THD Self-Service for Housing Selection will go live two weeks before the first lottery time. This will allow students to go in and start requesting and confirming their roommates. All roommates must be mutually confirmed in order to choose a housing assignment together for the 2016-2017 Academic Year.

PART 2: HOUSING SELECTION

The person with the earliest lottery time in your roommate group will log in and choose the housing assignment.

You will be able to filter a search by Hall when looking to choose a room.

Process 1: Roommate Selection The following will guide you through the How-To’s for requesting and selecting roommates.

Important Facts:  There will be a two week window for students to select each other. This process will stay open throughout all of housing to allow flexibility in changing your roommates as the Housing Selection Process develops. All roommates in a group must be mutually confirmed in order to live together for the Spring 2016-2017 Academic Year. You can only have the exact number of roommates confirmed for the style of housing you are pursuing. For example, if you want a triple in Padua, then you can only have two confirmed roommates at the time of choosing your assignment.

On the top command bar, you will see an Room Selection tab. Please click this tab and choose the Roommates/Suitemates Option from the dropdown list.

Student Name 901# Email Address

You will be brought to this page. Please choose the Fall 2016 Term. Click Submit.

You will be brought to this page. In the Simple Roommate Search Box, you can search for your roommates. The easiest search is by last name.

Once you have requested your roommates, you will see what request you have pending and/or confirmed. The system will also tell you who hasn’t been mutually confirmed in the “Unmatched Roommates” section.

In this example, Kathleen and Kaitlyn have mutually confirmed each other.

However, Kaitlyn is still waiting to hear back from Melissa. In addition, Melissa and Kathleen haven’t requested each other yet. In order for all three women to live together, then all need to confirm each other as roommates.

Each time a roommate request is sent, an email will go to that student so they are aware. Anytime a request is accepted or denied, an email is sent to that student. At any point in the process, you can accept, deny or delete roommate requests. Therefore, it is important to have open communication with the people with whom you would like to live with next year.

There are buttons you can use as tools: Red X: to Deny a request Green Check: Accept a Request Green Hand: will send out a reminder email to the person you are waiting to hear back from Blue Envelope: to send someone an email.

When you have a “fully matched” roommate group, you page will look like this.

Once you have a fully matched group, you are all set to go into the Housing Selection Process at your lottery time.

The roommate in your group with the earliest lottery time will log-in and choose housing for the entire group.

Process 2: Housing Selection The following will guide you through the How-To’s for choosing a Housing Assignment.

Important Facts:  All lottery time will be posted two weeks prior to the first live lottery time. A student can log-in once their lottery time hits and at any point after that.  You can only have the exact number of roommates confirmed for the style of housing you are pursuing. For example, if you want a triple in Padua, then you can only have two confirmed roommates at the time of choosing your assignment. Once you choose an assignment, you cannot log back in and change it.

Your lottery time information will be located on this home page.

The date & time of when you can log in will be displayed under the Room Selection heading.

When it is your lottery time, you can start the process of choosing a room two ways: 1.

2.

Click on the blue “Select a Room/Suite” Button on the Home Page. Under Roommate Selection (to the top) you can click “Select a Room/Suite”

If it is not your lottery time, you can still log in to view rooms but you will not be able to select one until your lottery time is live.

Student Name 901# Email Address

Once your lottery time is live and you click on “Select a Room/Suite” you will be brought to this page. You can filter your search by Hall to make the selection process easier.

Or, if you prefer, you can leave the hall filter blank. Either way, it will bring up all open rooms/suites that your roommate group is eligible for once you click “Find Available Rooms.”

After you clicked the “Find Available Rooms” button, the system will generate a list of open rooms/suite that you qualify for. The hall, floor, room number, room type and rate of the room are listed. It is important to note that all halls will be coded by class years that are eligible for them. For example, a rising senior would not be able to pull a rising sophomore into Snyder Hall because only Seniors & Juniors are eligible for that hall.

It is important to note that all halls will be coded by class years that are eligible for them. For example, a rising senior would not be able to pull a rising sophomore into Snyder Hall because only Seniors & Juniors are eligible for that hall. Therefore, the list that generates would only show rooms that you and all of people in your roommate group qualify for.

When you find the room/suite that you want, please click the “Select Room” button.

You will be brought to a page similar to this one. It will have your Hall, Room # and bed information on it.

Bed Placements are only important for Townhouses as there are several bedrooms. However, this can always be adjusted later with the help of the Office of Community Living.

If you are uncertain about your choice, you can click the “Go Back To Room Selection” Button.

If you are sure of your housing assignment choice, then click the blue “I Agree- Submit My Room Selection” button.

After you click the “I Agree” button, you will be brought to this page. All students in your roommate group will receive a confirmation email with the following information in it: Hall Room# Roommates And then you are done and all set!

A Special Note About Townhouses Since the Townhouse are a highly sought after area for Housing Selection, there is certain information that contains just to this type of housing.

Important Facts:  Only groups made up of all Rising Seniors will be able to choose a Townhouse on the Rising Senior Selection Nights. After the Rising Senior Selection Nights occur, there will be a Senior Pull-In Night for all “Mixed” roommate groups that contain Rising Seniors and Rising Juniors.

The Priority order for the Senior Pull-In Night will based off of the Rising Senior(s) Lottery Times. If any mixed roommate group is unable to select their first choice of housing, then they will need to choose another housing assignment from other housing options available to them. *An important note! Only rising Seniors will have active lottery times on the Senior Pull-In night. Therefore, if a group needs to divide up there must be a Rising Senior in the roommate group in order to choose housing. Any roommate group containing all Rising Juniors will wait until their class year’s lottery night.
