#32 Eric Ball 2nd Year! 6’3” Forward!

Syracuse Bishop Grimes

Background: Eric averaged 9.2 points and 4.0 rebounds last season. He had a season high of 19 points in the regular season finale at Tompkins-Cortland, and scored in double figures 11 times. He also had a high of 13 rebounds on 2 occasions. Before coming to Onondaga, Eric was a 4-year varsity performer for coach Jamie Evans at Bishop Grimes High School and scored 1,002 points in his high school career. He was named 9th team All-State in Class B, honorable mention All-Central New York, and was a two-time 1st team All-Onondaga High School League Liberty Division selection. He averaged 19.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a senior in leading Bishop Grimes to the Section III Class B-1 championship. Syracuse LaFayette

Background: Zach averaged 6.1 points and 3.5 rebounds last season. He had a high of 15 points at Finger Lakes, and scored in double figures 6 times. Zach was also a member of Onondaga’s national championship lacrosse team last spring. Before coming to Onondaga, Zach played for coach Jerry Kelly at LaFayette Central. He averaged 14.2 points per game and was named a 1st team All-Onondaga High School League Patriot American Division selection as a senior. As a junior, he helped lead the Lancers to the Section III Class C championship and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association quarter-finals. #22 Dave Foltz 2nd Year! 5’9” Guard!

Auburn Auburn

Background: Dave averaged 5.6 points and 2.7 assists per game last season. He had a season high 27 points in the Lazers’ win at Tompkins-Cortland. Before coming to Onondaga, Dave played for coach Al Giannone at Auburn High School, where he led the Maroons to their first ever Central New York Counties League American Division title. In his 3-year varsity career, he was a 1st Team All-League selection once, a 2nd Team AllLeague pick twice, and team Most Valuable Player and leading scorer twice. In addition, he was a two-time selection to the Auburn Citizen All-Star Team and was named honorable mention All-Central New York once. He averaged 14.6 points and 6.0 assists for his career, and connected on 107 three-point goals. #11 Nate Foote 2nd Year! 5’8” Guard!

Norwich Norwich

Background: Nate has been selected as one of Onondaga’s captains for this season. Last year, he averaged 1.4 points and 1.6 assists per game. He had a season best 7 assists in Onondaga’s overtime win at Broome. Before coming to Onondaga, Nate averaged 10 points and 5 assists for coach Mark Abbott at Norwich High School, and led his team to the Section IV Class A semi-finals. He was the team captain, was named honorable mention All Chenango County, and was a member of the Academic All-State Team. A talented multi-sport athlete, Nate was also a Southern Tier Athletic Conference All-League quarterback at Norwich. #5 Josh Kennedy 2nd Year! 5’10” Guard!

Liverpool Chittenango

Background: Josh has been selected as one of Onondaga’s cocaptains this season. He was expected to be a key contributor for the Lazers last season but unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury prior to the season which forced him to take a medical redshirt in anticipation of playing this year. In 2006-07 Josh played in 11 games. He scored 8 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and handed out 9 assists, including 4 against SUNY Canton. Prior to coming to Onondaga, Josh played high school basketball for coach John Clancy at Chittenango. He played both guard positions for the Bears and led his team into the Section III playoffs. #33 Daniel Mabbett 2nd Year! 6’3” Forward!

Mohawk Gregory B. Jarvis

Background: Dan averaged 1.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game for the Lazers last season. He had season highs 8 points at Hudson Valley and 5 rebounds on 2 occasions. Before Onondaga, Dan played at Gregory Jarvis High School in Mohawk for coach Luke Judd. He led his team to the Section III Class C-1 championship game and averaged 15.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.6 blocked shots per game for the Mohicans, earning a Center State Conference Division I 1st Team AllConference selection. Dan was also a member of the track and field and soccer teams. He is his school’s record holder in the high jump, and has twice competed in the open division high jump at the Empire State Games . Parents: Daniel Mabbett & Denise Mabbett Major: Fire Protection Technology Academic Goal: To gradute from OCC and transfer to a four year school Athletic Goal: To Win a Regional Title here at OCC. Go to a four year college and continue to play basketball. To improve my basketball ability and to compete at the level I can. #23 Brad Romancik 2nd Year! 6’1” Guard!

Background: Brad averaged 7.1 points per game for Onondaga, and led the team in made 3-point goals with 32. He had a season best 18 points at Clinton and reached double figures 8 times. Brad was also a member of Onondaga’s national championship lacrosse team last spring. Before coming to Onondaga, Brad played for coach Jerry Kelly at LaFayette Central, where he was a two-time All-State selection, having been named to the 4th team in Class C as a senior and the 7th team as a junior. A three-year varsity performer, Brad was also a two-time 1st team All-Onondaga High School League Patriot American Division selection, and was named Division Most Valuable Player as a junior as he led the Lancers to the Section III Class C championship. He was also a two-time honorable mention All-Central New York selection. Brad was selected to receive the IAABO Board #38 scholarship. Parents: Dave Romancik & Katey Romancik Major: Criminal Justice Academic Goal: Graduate with a 3.5 and move on to a four-year college to major in criminal justice Athletic Goal: To win our conference and go on to win regionals Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Winning the Class C sectional basketball title my junior year at Manley Field House and winning the national championship in lacrosse at OCC Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Jerry McNamara. I love the way he played basketball and was always working his hardest to help his team go as far as possible. He wasn't a selfish player and he was a great leader.. #20 Raphael Perry 1st Year! 5’11” Guard!

New Berlin Unadilla Valley

Background: Raffi will see his first action this year after redshirting a year ago. He was a 3-year varsity performer for coach Matt Osborne at Unadilla Valley Central, averaging 17.9 points per game and being named team Most Valuable Player. He led the Storm to two Midstate Athletic Conference championships and was a 7th Team All-State selection in Class C. Raffi was a 1st Team Midstate Athletic Conference Division I All-Conference selection and was also named to the Oneonta Daily Star All-Star Team and the Norwich Evening Sun All-Star Team. Perry is a multi-sport athlete who also competed on the Lazers’ men’s soccer team this past fall. He is the all-time leading scorer for Unadilla Valley’s soccer team and also competed on its golf team. #3 Kevin Corbin Redshirt! 6’5” Guard!

Background: Kevin is slated to redshirt this season, in anticipation of playing in 20102011. During his high school years, Kevin played for coach Sam Leo and the Sacred Heart CYO program, averaging 15 points per game. His older brother, Patrick, is a pitcher in the California Angels organization. Parents: Dan Corbin & Patricia Corbin Major: General Studies Academic Goal: I would like to get over 3.0 GPA Athletic Goal: To work hard in practice and prove myself on the court. To possibly earn playing time this year, or to play a more active role next year. Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing Pop Warner football on the same team as my brother Patrick. He played QB and i was WR, and i scored my first touchdown from a pass from him. I remember the announcer saying Corbin to Corbin touchdown. #43 Scott Cotter Redshirt! 6’3” Forward!

Background: Scott suffered an early season knee injury which will cause him to take a medical redshirt this season. He played high school basketball for coach Jim Marsh at Marcellus Central. He averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds per game, and was a 2nd team All-Onondaga high School League selection. Scott led the Mustangs to the sectional finals in Manley Field House on 3 separate occasions. Parents: Joe Cotter & Karen Cotter Major: Physical Education & Exercise Science Academic Goal: Transfer to Cortland with at least a 3.0 Athletic Goal: Become a positive asset to the team and win a regional title Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Playing at Manley Field House three times Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Tino Martinez because he always played the game the way it was supposed to be played Favorite TV Show: SportsCenter! Background: Trevor played for coach Ken Parham at Bay Shore High School. He suffered a knee injury playing football which caused him to miss most of his senior season of basketball. Parent: Kiesha Jackson Major: General Studies Academic Goal: 3.0 Athletic Goal: Win National Championship! Most Memorable Athletic Moment: 9th grade undefeated Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Cadillac Williams overcoming multiple knee injuries and playing Favorite TV Show: ESPN! #45 Jacob Johnson 1st Year! 6’5” Forward!

Tully Tully

Background: Jake comes to Onondaga from Tully Central, where he played for coach Ryan Dando. At Tully he averaged 9 points and 11 rebounds per game, and was named 1st Team All-Onondaga High School League and team Most Improved Player. He led the Black Knights to the Section III Class C-1 championship game. Parents: Douglas Johnson & Kay Johnson Major: Automotive Technology Academic Goal: Associates in automotive technology and possibly an associates in business Athletic Goal: Associates in automotive technology, possibly an associates in business Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Our victory away against LaFayette.  We were the team to beat and they knew that.  They threw everything they could at us but our team work prevailed.  Their roaring fans against ours throughout made it a very intense game. Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: My high school coach because he will do anything for anyone just because he is that type of guy. He was a great friend that helped us learn a lot about basketball. My two varsity years playing for him were a great experience. Favorite TV Show: Overhaulin! ! #40 Peter Lokai 2nd Year! 6’5” Forward!

Background: Peter is a transfer from Elmira College, where he played in 2007-08, where he was named the team’s Most Improved Player. Before that, Peter played two varsity seasons for coach Todd Widrick at Cazenovia Central. Peter was a Dean’s List student at Onondaga in 2008-2009. He is a native of the Sudan. Parents: Bruce Cordes & Diana Cordes Major: Mathematics & Science! Academic Goal: Get diploma in physical thearapy Athletic Goal: Playing hard and win championship title Most Memorable Athletic Moment: Being undefeated at home during my senior year in high school Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Kobe Bryant. he knows how to lead his team to championship Favorite TV Show: Amazing Race Favorite Activity Outside of Basketball: Watching tv, playing pool table and listening to music

Background: Before coming to Onondaga, Andrew played for coach Joe Barnello at Solvay High School. At Solvay, Andrew averaged 15 points and 3 assists per game, and was named team Most Valuable Player. He was also a two-time selection to the Zebra Classic all-star tournament. Parents: Rich Lucio & Jackie Lucio Major: Criminal Justice! Academic Goal: Graduate Athletic Goal: Transfer to another school Most Memorable Athletic Moment: When i played in the Zebra Classic my Junior and Senior year Person You Respect and Admire Most in Sports, and Why: Kobe Bryant because he is my favorite basketball player and a great leader Favorite TV Show: Sportscenter! Background: Before Onondaga, Mike played for coach John Clancy at Chittenango Central. As a senior, he averaged 10.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, and was a 2nd Team All-Onondaga High School League selection. He was selected to the Zebra Classic as a senior. Background: Sairron is a transfer to Onondaga who last played for Clinton Community College in 2007-2008, when he averaged 13.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Before that, he played for coach Pat Donnelly at Bishop Ludden High School, where he averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds per game and was an All-League selection. Background: Coach Pasiak has been involved in coaching basketball for the past 26 years. In 9 years at Onondaga, Coach Pasiak has compiled an overall record of 167-106. , making him Onondaga’s all-time leader in coaching victories. His teams are 83-39 in Mid-State Athletic Conference play, and 147-87 against Region III Division III competition. The Lazers are the only Mid-State Conference school and are one of only three schools overall to have qualified for the Region III Tournament in each of the last 8 seasons. Most importantly, all of his recruited players remained academically eligible and on track towards their degrees. Onondaga has not lost a recruited player to mid-season ineligibility since Coach Pasiak’s arrival, and overall 98% of Onondaga players have remained academically eligible. Also, since arriving at Onondaga 9 years ago, 36 former Lazers have moved on to play at Division I, II, and III four-year schools. He has produced 2 AllAmericans, 2 Academic All-Americans, 4 pre-season All-Americans, 15 All-Region players, 2 conference Players of the Year, and 15 All-Conference players in 8 years. Last season, Coach Pasiak guided the Lazers to the Mid-State Athletic Conference semi-finals and the Region III quarterfinals, the 9th consecutive year that the Lazers have reached the post-season. That followed Onondaga’s 2007-08 campaign, in which the Lazers shared the Mid-State Athletic Conference regular season co-championship, and reached the conference championship game. In 2006-07, Coach Pasiak directed Onondaga to its first Mid-State Athletic Conference championship in 15 years. The Lazers also captured the regular season conference championship, and received the #3 seed in the NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament. The Lazers ranked 5th nationally in scoring offense that season, marking 7 consecutive years that they had been among the top 10 scoring teams in the nation. Coach Pasiak is a three-time Mid-State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. having been selected for the honor in 2002 , 2003, and 2008. In addition, he was named the Region III Coach of the Year for 2002-03. In that season, the Lazers finished with an overall record of 23-7, the 2nd best ever at Onondaga. The 2002-03 team also had a regular season mark of 23-5, the best ever at the school, had a school record 14 game winning streak, and was ranked in the NJCAA national poll for 5 weeks. The Lazers have qualified for the Mid-State Athletic Conference Tournament 8 times in Coach Pasiak’s 8 years, and have reached the Championship game 3 times. The Lazers were also the top scoring team in the country in 2001-02, when they averaged 98.6 points per game. Previously, Coach Pasiak served as the head coach at Herkimer County Community College for 2 years, from 1991 to 1993. He also served for 2 seasons as an assistant under the late Jack Bruen at Colgate University, a Division I institution in Hamilton, NY. In addition, he served 4 seasons as an assistant at Division III Utica College in Utica, NY, and has coached at several high schools in Central New York. Immediately prior to coming to Onondaga, he was the Athletic Director at Frankfort-Schuyler Central School, in Frankfort, NY. Coach Pasiak is a 1984 graduate of Clarkson University, where he played on the basketball team. In addition to coaching the Lazers, he is also serving as interim Athletic Director at Onondaga. He is currently the head coach of the Central Region Empire State Games open men’s basketball team, leading that team to a bronze medal in 2008, their first medal in 5 years. He has been a featured speaker and staff member at many of the top basketball camps in the northeast. He is actively involved In Coaches vs. Cancer and serves on the Board of Directors for the Basketball Coaches Association of New York.

Background: Coach Davis is entering his 8th season with the Lazers. Prior to coming to Onondaga, he coached 15 years at Onondaga Central High School, serving as the Assistant Basketball Coach under coach Larry Behm. During that time, he helped the Tigers to 6 league and 2 sectional titles. Coach Davis is a graduate of Nottingham High School and SUNY Cortland, where he played basketball and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He also holds a Masters Degree from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Public Administration. Coach Davis is employed as an Affirmative Action Administrator by the Central New York Developmental Disabilities Services Office; New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

Patrick Mannion Assistant Coach! 2nd Year!

Background: Coach Mannion returns to the Onondaga staff this year after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Sport Management at Coastal Carolina University. Coach Mannion last worked with the Lazers in 2006-07, when Onondaga capturd their first Mid-State Athletic Conference championship in 15 seasons. He earned his Associate’s degree from Onondaga in 2007. As a player, Mannion was a two-year starting point guard for the Lazers in 2004-05 and 2005-06, averaging 5.3 points and 4.8 assists per game for his career. He is a graduate of Marcellus High School, where he excelled in basketball, soccer, and golf. Coach Mannion is currently the interim Intramurals Coordinator at Onondaga.

Jordan Barzee Assistant Coach! 1st Year!

Cicero Onondaga Community College

Background: Coach Barzee returns to Onondaga as an assistant after playing the last two seasons for the Lazers. As a second year player he was chosen as a co-captain and averaged 8.4 points per game in leading Onondaga to its 9th consecutive post-season appearance. Prior to coming to the Lazers he was home schooled and excelled for the Syracuse Christian Home School basketball program. He is currently completing his Associate’s degree in Business Administration at Onondaga.

John Burns Assistant Coach! 3rd Year!

Oswego SUNY Oswego

Background: Coach Burns returns to Onondaga for his 3rd season as an assistant. He was a part of the Lazers’ staff in 2005-06, a season which saw Onondaga post a 17-12 record, compete in the Region III Tournament, and finish second in the country in scoring offense. Coach Burns was also a member of Onondaga’s 23-7 2002-03 team which posted the best regular season record and the second best overall record in the history of the college. After completing his degree at Onondaga, Coach Burns finished his Bachelor’s degree at SUNY Oswego and served as an assistant coach at Oswego High School. Coach Burns is also a graduate of Mexico high school, where he was an AllStar guard for coach Paul Callaghan. He is currently employed by American Airlines.

2010 Future Stars Boys Basketball Camp

9th Annual Fall Shootout

Camp Features: • Outstanding daily fundamental instruction • A camper to coach ratio of 6:1 or better (the lowest ratio of any camp in Central New York) in order to maintain small teams and eliminate idle down time. • Emphasis on individual instruction and attention. • Game situations to practice and apply newly learned skills • Use of the college swimming pool. • Top flight staff of area coaches and college players. • Access to the college cafeteria. • All campers receive a camp t-shirt, a basketball, a self-improvement program, and a camp certificate. Schedule: Saturday, October 30: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm Sunday, October 31: 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Format: • Each team will play a minimum of five games. • On Saturday, each team will have three games in pool play • On Sunday, teams will be bracketed and compete for the shootout championship. Games: • Games will consist of two 16 minute halves stopped clock, not running time! • Every game will be officiated by certified officials. • Three minute halftime, at least 5 minutes pregame, two 30 second timeouts per game. • Except for the above modifications, National Federation rules will be used. Registration: • The tournament is designed to be an event for varsity-level players, and is limited to the first 16 teams to register.
