Founded in 1977, Linear Equipamentos Eletrônicos became an important provider of broadcasting equipment in Brazil, and has been present in the international market since 1985. The company has installed over 37 thousand systems in more than 40 countries. Investment in R&D put the company in a unique and privileged position in Brazil, with important achievements such as the launching of digital transmitters in the ATSC standard for the North-American market in the mid-2000s, as well as pioneering the development and local production of equipment in the ISDB-Tb standard, adopted in Brazil and most of Latin America. A team of 320 employees, that includes researchers, engineers, assembly and support teams, develops and produces systems and services for all needs in transmission, retransmission, signal boosting, coding, multiplexing, and distributing with microwave and digital radio, demanded by TV stations and their owners. In 2011, Hitachi Kokusai acquired 100% of Linear shares and now as “Hitachi Kokusai Linear Equipamentos Eletrônicos S/A” (HKL), is an important base in the broadcasting segment for Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc., a company that develops products for broadcasting, telecommunications, control and surveillance since 1949.
