Welcome from the Headteacher Welcome to the 2014 Denbigh Celebration of Success Ceremony.

We have the highest expectations for our students and have created a culture of learning within the School which inspires our students to be the best they can be. Academic excellence is at the heart of our School and the enthusiasm and commitment to learning that our students possess, combined with the outstanding standards of teaching and learning offered at Denbigh, ensures that our students record examination results that bring credit to themselves and the School as a whole. Tonight’s ceremony celebrates the effort and achievement made by our students over the last academic year. Our students achieve examination success in a broad range of academic subjects that have a real currency supporting progression into higher education or employment. Over 75% of our students go onto study a diverse range of university courses including at Oxford, Cambridge and the Russell Group Institutions.

Tonight we will reward those students who have achieved the very highest results, as well as those who have significantly exceeded the expectations and targets we as a School set for them. We also recognise those students who through their attitude, determination and skills have made an outstanding contribution to each of

the curriculum areas within the School. We will also celebrate those students involved in the Engineering in Education Scheme and those students who through their enthusiasm and commitment have contributed to the wider life of the School.

This evening is also an opportunity to pay tribute to the contribution made by teachers and parents whose commitment and encouragement have helped our award winners achieve their success. I congratulate all our award winners tonight and acknowledge the contribution they have made to the continuing success of Denbigh School. I am exceptionally proud of them all.
