PRAY WASHINGTON PRAYER GUIDE FOR SEPTEMBER 2014 NOTE: On this page is summary of targeted prayer requests. The following pages include more in-depth information, testimonies, and appropriate Scripture to supplement the information below. We continue to encourage you to read through all pages first and allow the Holy Spirit to direct your prayers. This summary allows you to tear off the page and use it as a prayer reminder.

Churches: Praise God for increase of the Kingdom of God in this state. Pray churches will seek opportunities to unite under the banner of Christ in bonds of love, strengthening connections within the Body of Christ and be "fitly joined together" with "every joint supplying." Pray for the significant observances being held this month including David‘s Tent on the State Capitol Campus from September15 -28; Rosh Hashanah at Westwood Baptist on September 25; and prayer for the persecuted church in the State Capitol rotunda on September 26. (More information on these included herein.) Pray the revealing presence of God will … ―produce repentance, lead to revival, and release reformation!‖ Government: Pray for Christian candidates who have been voted in to participate in the general election in November to be wise, discerning, and strong in the Lord and to have much volunteer assistance and financial help. Pray churches and Christians are informed and engaged. Families/Social Services/and Health: Pray Christian families will model a true love of God and servant hearts towards others who seek to know Him. Military/ Law Enforcement Agencies/Firefighters/EMS: Pray for the firefighters and emergency personnel, law enforcement and our military – knowledge, wisdom and strength to provide front line assistance and strategic defenses as needed. Pray for their salvation and protection. Education: 1) Pray for public, Christian, and home schools, teachers and administrators, bus drivers, cooks, all those who volunteer - to be diligent to model responsible behavior as they influence young lives.2) Pray for "See You at the Pole"(SYATP) events to be held September 24th at 7 AM at numerous public and Christian schools. Since 1990, SYATP has been about one simple act—prayer. Today, it is still about students humbling themselves, turning to God, and interceding for their generation. Media/Communication/Arts/Entertainment: Pray for release of even more technically-savvy, God-glorifying individuals who will bring honor to the Name of Christ in the entertainment sphere. Pray for a release of more movies that promote family values and for increased opportunities for godly directors and actors. Pray for the NDP bus as it traverses this nation encouraging prayer. Business/Employment: Pray for creative ideas to be released in the business sphere that will promote Kingdom businesses. Praise the Lord for sustaining/blessing those who are true servants in the market place. Israel: CONTINUE TO “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem”. Pray for salvation and revelation, pray for wisdom and understanding. Praise Him - He is a covenant-keeping God; His love is eternal, and they shall yet know Him as Messiah. "And I will pour out on…the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on Me, the One they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son. On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be great…each clan by itself…And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob. PRAISE. The first ‘Kingdom Congress’ was recently held in Everett, WA.

Pastor Tim Taylor's vision launched the strategic ‗Operation Rolling Thunder 'initiative, which has impacted Whatcom County and other states and nations with accompanying ‗signs and wonders‘–along with reproducible, measurable results. ‘Pray Thurston/Washington' is one of the fruits of this strategy. The large gathering brought many leaders from each of the seven spheres that are prayed into in this objectives. There was an electricity of anticipation in the air; a deep sense of the presence of God; and, joy abounding among all who attended. Pray for Pastor Tim and the other leaders from many denominations and ministries who are committed to move the Kingdom of God forwarding Washington state as the Holy Spirit gives direction and confirmation. The General Election will be held November 4 with the top two candidates from the August primary election being voted upon. Pray that Christian candidates will know it is "not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit" that they will prevail. Pray for them to have all the resources they need to excel and run outstanding, value-based, God-honoring campaigns strengthened with His might and power. Pray churches and Christians will be informed and engaged. 

U.S. House of Representatives serving in Congress. All 10 positions are up for election.



Washington State House of Representatives. All 98 positions are up for election. Current mix is: 55-Democrats and 34-Republicans. Washington State Senate. Total positions in the Senate are 49. Twenty-five positions are up for election. Current mix is: 25-Democrats and 24-Republicans.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS UNDER ATTACK. Pray for wisdom and discernment for Christian leaders throughout our state and nation to know how to engage and then to be bold and courageous as they take a stand for those persecuted for their faith. FAMILIES. Continue to pray for families especially as they transition to a new season. Pray they flourish as they commit their ways to the Lord. Pray that they will set a compelling example of Christian love to others. JAIL /PRISON MINISTRY. Praise God for those who faithfully minister in the jails and prisons."I was in prison and you visited me." Pray the messages they speak will be effective and many will know the Lord who invades the hearts of those incarcerated bringing true freedom in Christ.

Praise God for Church Extension Ministries and the lunch they held for Pastors and Leaders that allowed them to share the vital services they provide in our community. Continue to pray for ministries throughout the County that represent multiple churches uniting together to exalt Christ and His Kingdom in serving the social and health needs of Thurston County: Serve Thurston, Union Gospel Mission, Church Extension Ministries, City Gates, Salvation Army, Gideon‟s, Youth for Christ, and Young Life, Faith Harvest, Crazy Faith, Teen Esteem, Care Net, Healing Hearts, Blessed Ministry, Wisdom Ministries, Daniels Prayer Ministry, Greeners 4 Christ, Truly Motivated Transitional Living, and many others like them. Pray all their needs are met.

From Janet Swindon at Care Net Pregnancy Center: “We serve an awesome God! With all of us working together, we can meet the needs of many who are lost, hungry, ill and burdened. Praise God that we do not have to say:“Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed” (James 2:16b), but we can place feet on the ground and meet their needs. From the foundation of prayer, food, clothing, counseling and medical care are provided – we are His Body!”

City Gates Praise Report: An estimated 1,100 people showed up to our Street Lights Back to School Back Pack Give Away. Over 500 plus were given out. Kids shopped thru 2000 lbs. of school clothes. The praise report: seeing the kids receive prayer and then giving them the opportunity to pray for their parents. We accomplished our goal to pray for kids. Please be in prayer as we continue our mission to reach people in need and bring them the Gospel as we help them find their way. See the Polaris Project. Additional Washington State anti-trafficking organizations: Washington Engageand, IWantRestSharedHope.org– founded by former Washington State Congresswoman, Linda Smith. Also: Operation Found Safe www.operationfoundsafe.org an organization whose mission is to educate and train communities on how to protect children from abduction, exploitation and human trafficking by working closely with families and law enforcement by assisting in the search & location of missing children throughout the U.S. so that they can be ―Found Safe‖. “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” I Peter 3:12 ______________________________________________________________________________________

MILITARY/LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES/FIREFIGHTERS/EMS “But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31



Pray for law enforcement and border patrols as they are being overwhelmed by those who are breaking immigration laws and over-running our borders. FROM CAPITAL HILL PRAYER PARTNERS: "We're in a war. Pray for police officers to have wisdom as they confront divisive and abusive issues on a daily basis especially in our larger cities. Thank God for our firefighters and emergency medical personnel who effectively confronted serious wildfires in this state and are diligently and daily watching to save and protect lives.

STUDENT OUTREACH. Pray for effective Christian student outreach efforts throughout the school system. Thank Him for the ministry of organizations such as "Greeners for Christ" at The Evergreen State College, and all other similar Christian ministries and their contributions for the cause of Christ and religious freedom. SEE YOU AT THE POLE (SYATP). The 2014 theme verse is: "Never stop praying, especially for others" (Ephesians 6:18a CEV). This passage on the armor of God challenges and encourages Christ followers to stand strong in the Lord and be His representatives to share the good news of the Gospel. From that very first year in 1990, "See You at the Pole" has been about one simple act—prayer. Today, SYATP is still about students humbling themselves, turning to God, and interceding for their generation. There are two opportunities to prioritize prayer with your friends: 

DAY: SEE YOU AT THE POLE day is on Wednesday, September 24, at 7:00 a.m., local time. All around the globe, in every time zone, students will be gathering at their flagpoles, praying for their school, friends, families, churches, and communities. 

WEEK: The GLOBAL WEEK OF STUDENT PRAYER (Sunday, September 21 through Saturday, September 27) encourages students to find new and unique ways, places, and times to pray throughout the week.

2014 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER (NDP) BUS TOUR. The NDP Bus Tour is on a mission to create a wave of prayer from the East Coast to the West Coast. The Tour begins on September 2 in Orlando, Florida, and ends October 5 in Hollywood, CA. PRAY: Join with them in prayer, every day, for 33-days to cover the team and all those participating. Pray during this time that lives would be changed and God would intervene across America. Pray for effectiveness of vision and message. Pray for change in many hearts and minds and mobilization of those who can impact this sphere for Christ.



Every day, thousands of Christians work in the arena of secular media and entertainment, trying to be salt and light in what are often difficult and challenging workplaces. There are numerous Christian writers, directors, and producers who are developing projects with a Christian focus, designed to make an impact in this culture. We need to pray that in every area of the media God will equip believers with the creativity and skills to bring such excellent projects forward that they will counter the flooding of our culture with Hollywood‘s ―morality.‖

And we also need to pray for the vast Christian media that is already in place. Pray it will be authentic, powerful, true to the Word of God, and filled with the creativity of the Holy Spirit. “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." BUSINESS/EMPLOYMENT “The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases Him." Proverbs 15:8

Pray for Kingdom businesses to seek first His righteousness and to see blessings outpoured upon them as they conduct business in a way that honors God. Market-place Ministry. Your place of employment is your mission field; it is where God has placed you for His purposes to be fulfilled. We do not live to work: we do not even work to live. We live to live out our personal relationship with Jesus Christ at home, church, shopping, vacationing and at work. By committing to pray, and live out Christ‘s character through the power of the Holy Spirit in ALL that we do, we fulfill the mandate to love the Lord with ALL of our heart, soul, mind and strength. We also open up every area of our life for His blessing. God is seeking an intimate relationship with you, not a quick nod at breakfast and out into the world we go. He desires to share wisdom, knowledge, strength, joy, discernment and direction all day long and all night--wherever your place of employment.

“Listen to my prayer, O God, and do not ignore my plea.” Psalms 55:1 ________________________________________________________________________________

Prayers for Israel -"I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: you that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence." Isaiah 62:6 "Why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 'Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.' He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision." (Psalm 2:1-4 NKJV)"The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry; but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth." CONTINUE TO Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for salvation and revelation, pray for wisdom and understanding. Israel remains God‘s litmus test and time piece for the nations. -"This is the land which you shall make fall by lot for an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, and these are their parts, declares Adonai YAHWEH." Ezekiel 48:29

That God continues to place His hand of protection over His people, in Israel - that "no weapon formed against you (Israel) shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17). — that He continues to use us as His messengers to let them know that they are NOT alone. That He continues to give us the strength and courage to stand with Israel, to support her in deed and action — to give feet to our blessings and swift wings to our support. That the United States does not abandon Israel at a time such as this — that President Obama reaffirms the friendship between our two nations and recommits to a zero tolerance against terror. May nations around the world realize that Hamas does not want peace — that Hamas is a criminal terrorist group that wants Israel‘s destruction at a horrific price — pray that the eyes of other nations will be opened so that Israel does not have to stand alone against this terror. For the brave men and women who are on the front lines, putting their lives at risk as guardians of Israel. Thank you for praying with me, and standing with Israel and the Jewish people.

We will gather together in Olympia, WA for 14 days of non-stop, 24/7 united, Christ-exalting worship and praise on our state’s capitol grounds. MARK BILTZ BIO Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State, is a well-known and popular commentator on the Feasts of the Lord and has produced a series of dvd‘s on the Feasts that have gone around the world. His research and theories have earned him guest appearances on both radio and television as well as the cover of magazines. He teaches how the Messianic prophecies that Jesus fulfilled 2,000 years ago when He came the first time happened to the very day. He then explains how the second coming events will also happen to the very day of the Fall Feasts. Yeshua died for our sins on Passover, was buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, resurrected from death on First Fruits, and then sent the Holy Spirit to indwell believers on the Jewish Feast of Pentecost (Shavuot). If He fulfilled the spring Feasts to the day of His first coming, He will fulfill the Fall Feasts to the day of His second coming. In 1975 at 19 years of age he was attending Kansas Newman College in Wichita when a childhood friend gave me a better understanding of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He left the Roman Catholic Church and joined a youth organization called the Agape Force. His teachers included Leonard Ravenhill, David Wilkerson, and Winkie Pratney. In 1987, the pastor of the church he attended moved to Washington State and asked him to move as well to be his associate. Mark later became the administrator/teacher for South King County Bible College. Mark felt a real need to refocus on Hebrew Roots and to get back to an original understanding of the context and culture to have a correct understanding of the Bible. His wife, Vicki, bought him a book by a Jewish Rabbi named Moshe Braun called The Jewish Holy Days - Their Spiritual Significance. He saw such depth to the material and realized that Christians were missing so much by seeing themselves as cut off from the Jewish mindset and culture. He became a passionate student of literature written from a Jewish mindset and was humbled by the grace, wisdom and insight that poured forth from our Jewish brethren. Mark realized the Jewish people loved the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and had been studying and mining the Bible for millennia looking for nuggets. A Call to Prayer Prayer Vigil for Pastor Saeed Abedini WHAT: Join Olympia residents and concerned citizens worldwide to protest the unjust imprisonment of American Pastor Saeed Abedini in Iran and call for his immediate release. Jailed for his Christian faith, the U.S. citizen and Boise, Idaho minister faces a “virtual death sentence” of eight years in Iran’s most notorious prison. Charged with “undermining the national security of Iran”, Pastor Saeed has faced beatings from Iranian Revolutionary Guards and, until recently, was refused medical treatment for injuries sustained in prison. Held on the two-year anniversary of Pastor Saeed’s imprisonment, Olympia’s prayer vigil in the Rotunda of the Washington State Capitol Building is part of a global effort to raise awareness of Pastor Saeed’s condition and call upon international governments to pressure Iran for his release. Protestors around the world and in Olympia will gather in prayer to bring attention to Saeed Abedini’s situation and to inspire action from national and international governmental officials, including President Obama.
