Salvation: that all staff would desire a personal relationship with God Blessings and gratitude for the doctors and nurses of our city Protection for their health as they are constantly exposed to diseases Unity among the staff Adequate funding for the physical and mental needs of our city Good mental health alternatives in our city Protection of mental health for personnel who often deal with stressful things in their position

Scripture for Praying for Health Services:

Lord, grant our doctors wisdom in all the diagnoses they need to make. James 1:5 (NIV) – “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

Nurses’ Prayer

Dear Lord, please give me strength, To face the day ahead. Dear Lord, please give me courage, As I approach each hurting bed. Dear Lord, please give me wisdom, With every word I speak. Pray for: 1. Salvation for all employees: that they would desire a personal relationship with Jesus Christ 2. Physical strength and wisdom to do their job; real discretion in the words they use, the attitudes they display in crisis moments 3. Safety while battling fires, attending accidents and en route to these emergencies 4. Being positive role models in our city 5. Protection of their marriages and families as they have stressful jobs and shift work to contend with 6. Workers to provide great fire prevention strategies for our citizens to utilize

Psalm 133:1 (NIV) – “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Colossians 3:14 (NIV) – “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Romans 12:16 (NIV) – “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.”

A blessing on all churches who teach that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life; and for those that don’t, that God would reveal Himself in such a way that they would understand the truth of this teaching 2. Blessing on all pastors, support staff and their families 3. A deep desire to be a church that prays a lot, loves God’s Word and is led by the Holy Spirit 4. To be well looked after financially, to do God’s work 5. Unity between the churches 6. A willingness to reach out and be the hands and feet of Jesus in our city

Deut. 16:20 (NIV) – “Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you.” Zechariah 7:9 (NIV) – “This is what the LORD Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.” 1 Tim 2:1-4 (NIV) – “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

City Hall

Pray for: 1. Salvation for the mayor, councillors and all staff, that they would desire a personal relationship with Jesus Christ 2. Gratitude for all the mayor, councillors and city employees do to make Airdrie a great city to live in 3. Wisdom and discernment as they choose which projects need to be prioritized (There are 30 different service areas.) 4. Safety on the job, in operating so many different machines 5. Unity among the employees, respect and honesty 6. Boldness for the Christian employees to share their faith and demonstrate what it means to walk daily with Christ

Scripture for Praying for City Hall:

Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV) – “Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Proverbs 3:21 (NIV) – “My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion.” Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV) – “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

Schools

Pray for: 1. Salvation: for principals, teachers, aides, janitorial staff, and all students, that they would want a personal relationship with God 2. Deep respect for each other: different nationalities, religions, students with learning disabilities, etc. 3. Gratitude: for all the hours the staff puts into teaching our children, and support staff puts into creating a clean, healthy environment 4. Christian students and teachers to be bold in their witness 5. Great discernment on issues of sexuality, transgender, etc. 6. Safety in the classroom, playground, on the buses or walking to and from school (no bullying) 7. School board and district staff to choose God honoring curriculums
