Polar Exploration Books

Catalogue McCLINTOCK

Welcome to my latest polar catalogue. With the centenary of Shackleton’s ITAE (Endurance) Expedition upon us I have decided to list more Shackleton items than usual. Also, please note the advert on the back cover for the event in Plymouth in August 2014, which I am involved in organising, to commemorate the centenary of the departure of Endurance. Do have a look at the website www.devonandcornwallpolarsociety.org.uk for more details. You can be sure of warm Devon welcome should you decide to come. There is a section in the middle pages of the catalogue of Polar Ephemera, and sections at the end listing Polar Recordings, Polar Fiction and Recently Published Polar Books; including one by David Harrowfield, one on William Lashly and another on Antarctic cooking! Again, I have also tried to highlight the ‘special’ items. I do hope you find something of interest amongst all of this. If the book you are looking for is not in this catalogue, then please get in touch as I do have many other books not listed here. Please let me know if you would like more details about the content or condition of any of the books. Images can be emailed if required. Happy reading; and very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year,

Paul Davies * Many books sell very quickly therefore so it is best to ring straight away, then Andrea or I can reserve them for you. * Because of the costs involved, we regret that if you do not place an order after receiving three issues of our catalogue we will no longer be able to send it to you, unless you specifically ask for it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1 Alexander, Mrs Chippy’s Last Expedition 1914-5; The Remarkable Journal Caroline of Shackleton’s polar-bound cat 1997 First Bloomsbury Finein d/w Story based on life on the Endurance of McNeish’s cat £10 2 Alexander, Caroline See item 207
