PBA Family Law Section Summer Meeting

July 8-11, 2010 Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, Bonita Springs, Florida

The Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section will hold its annual Summer Meeting in Florida on July 8th11th. Our venue is the beautiful Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs, located on 26 acres overlooking the breathtaking Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve. The hotel was recently awarded the Three Palm Certification as a “Florida Green Lodge.” There are a number of recreational activities for you and your family. You can enjoy a round of golf at the world-class Raptor Bay Golf Club, recharge with a spa treatment at the Stillwater Spa or plunge down a 140foot waterslide that leads to one of three large pools on the grounds. Ride the lazy river pool or have fun on a 15-minute boat ride that ferries you to a private beach island. The Section events begin on Thursday evening with a “Welcome to Bonita Springs” outdoor party where we will enjoy the scenic grounds of the hotel! Friday features a wonderful lineup of CLE programs. First, the nationally recognized Melvyn B. Frumkes will present a CLE program, “Frumkes on Divorce Taxation.” The second CLE program on Friday will be “Law Office Management — Billing Done Right,” presented by Ellen Freedman. After a morning of CLEs, there will be a golf tournament at the Raptor Bay Golf Club. We are also offering an airboat trip through the Everglades! In the evening, it is “dinner on your own” followed by a Dessert Party in the hotel — a great way to relax after a full day of learning and fun! Saturday also features a great lineup of CLEs: (1) “Valuation and Income Issues of Alternative Investments: Private Equity Funds, Real Estate Partnerships, Etc.,” with a panel spearheaded by Robert D. Feder; (2) “Representing a Client on a Budget in Divorce and Support Matters”; (3) “Custody Relocation — A Detailed Analysis of Trends in Case Law;” and, (4) “A Primer on Child Protection Law.” After another full day of learning, we again turn to fun! In the afternoon, enjoy a shopping tour of Naples or a guided tour of the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Winter Estates. On Saturday evening, join us for a festive outdoor Steel Band Party! There will be live music, a tropical drink bar and fabulous food. The kids will enjoy their own party, where they will be occupied and entertained with fun food, exciting games, activities and special surprises! On Sunday, our presenters will bring you the latest “Case Law Updates” together with insights into pending and recently passed legislation and civil rule changes that impact our family law practices. Please don’t miss Bonita Springs for a great educational, networking and social experience! Jeffrey M. Williams Chair, Family Law Section

PBA FAMILY LAW SECTION SUMMER MEETING You’ll enjoy delightful days in the Florida sunshine at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, where choices abound for recreation, relaxation and fine dining. Florida vacations are all about the beautiful outdoors. Pools, water slides, golf, tennis, biking, and a climbing wall are just a sampling of the exciting activities available at the resort. For more adventure, hit the beach, hop on a boat to search for dolphins, kayak through mangroves or shop in nearby Naples. Parasailing, water skiing and offshore fishing are all offered off-site. You needn’t leave the property to play tennis or golf, roast s’mores, join a volleyball game or try your hand at bocce. The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point boasts seven restaurants and bars — ranging from the poolside Corkscrew to the four-diamond Tanglewood. Jutting out over the water, Tarpon Bay has a beach cottage vibe. The chef infuses the freshest seafood with innovative combinations of herbs and spices for a truly memorable meal. Find a seat at the inviting bar for a drink, throw in fantastic live music, and you are in for a special evening. Even indoors, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the lush grounds and waterways.
