Properties of High Mn Non-magnetic Steel
■ Strength
■ Magnetic Stability Austenite phase is maintained as strained to be fractured. Good candidate for non-magnetic structural applications Immediately after strained, magnetic permeability of 304 stainless steel rapidly increases due to the mechanically induced phase transformation(magnetic phase, α martensite).
Excellent combination of strength and elongation. Easily strengthened by changes of alloying and process conditions maintaining magnetic permeability. Manufactured by as-rolled process only(no heat treatment required).
