High quality natural oils and fats The core ingredients of natural cosmetics

Nature is full of valuable elements that are in harmony with the constitution of our skin. In fact, the epidermis is composed of substances similar to the composition of natural ingredients in cosmetics. The core ingredients of natural cosmetic formulations are high quality natural oils and fats. As emollients they provide soothing and smoothing action on the skin and have moisturizing effects. Natural oils contain dermal and skin-related fatty acids, which contribute substantially to the regeneration of the lipid structure of the epidermis. Linoleic acid is for example involved in Ceramide synthesis, which is an important factor for the skin’s barrier function. Highly unsaturated fatty acids like α-linolenic acid contribute to regenerating processes in the epidermis hence reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Beyond the content of functional fatty acids an outstanding property of pressed, natural finished oils is their content of valuable active ingredients. Phytosterols are structurally and functionally similar to cholesterol. They have a strengthening effect on the skin’s barrier function and can replace animal-derived cholesterol in cosmetic formulations. Long-chain

hydrocarbons such as squalene exhibit skin-care properties and improve the spread of a formulation, whereas vitamins can act as sun screens and protecting agents against free radicals. We can ensure these additional benefits for our high quality natural cosmetic oils by carefully selecting raw materials and focusing on gentle processing pathways. Sustainable production in the sense of environmental care and fair trade are vital components in our value chain. We appreciate the delicate balance of the natural world and strive to maintain this harmony by using environmentally friendly products. We believe natural cosmetics should offer you, in the truest sense of the word, wholesome personal care.
