RESTYLANE FACIAL CLEANSER Cleanse your skin with care
Each time you cleanse your face you risk stripping your skin of essential lipids, anti-oxidants and water-binding substances. Therefore cleansing procedures must be as mild and gentle as possible to preserve the health and natural balance of your skin. Restylane® Facial Cleanser has been enriched with organic oils and ceramides to make your skin soft and supple. Restylane Facial Cleanser cleanses skin and removes make-up gently and efficiently without upsetting the skin’s natural protective barrier. Ingredients: Protective formula with organic oils and ceramide 3. pH-neutral. Suggested usage: Rinse face with water. Place a tiny amount of cleanser in your palm, add water and work into a rich foam. Massage onto face and neck, rinse with water. Repeat the procedure for best result. The cleanser can also be used as a cleansing milk, using cotton pads and less water.

RESTYLANE DAY CREAM Protect and hydrate your skin
Restylane® Day Cream is a moisturiser suitable for all skin types. The DMS lipid structure in Restylane Day Cream means it has a high biocompatibility with your own skin, which helps build up the skin’s natural protective barrier to reduce water loss and withstand premature ageing. Restylane Day Cream contains active ingredients that improve the skin’s own detoxifying ability, resulting in soft and healthy skin. The addition of stabilized hyaluronic acid enhances the long lasting moisturising effect of the cream. Active ingredients: Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, DMS, Niacinamide, Creatine, Acetyl Carnitine, Piperine, and Ceramide 3. Suggested usage: Apply to thoroughly cleansed skin in the morning. It is recommended to use a sun protection cream SPF 15 or higher, when using Restylane Day Cream on a daily basis.

Restylane® Night Cream is a rich moisturiser suitable for all skin types. Containing the DMS lipid structure, Restylane Night Cream helps build up your own protective skin barrier and allows your skin to breathe and recover at night. Restylane Night Cream contains active ingredients that help counteract the skin’s ageing process whilst protecting the natural balance and beauty of your skin. The addition of stabilized hyaluronic acid enhances the long lasting moisturising effect of the cream. Restylane Night Cream improves your skin’s natural functions in as little as four weeks resulting in a beautiful, soft complexion. RESTYLANE NIGHT SERUM Reduce your wrinkles and age spots
Restylane® Night Serum is a highly active product to be used at night only and is very effective at reducing the signs of ageing. It contains a high dose of retinol in a stable and highly absorbable form. Retinol is one of the most active ingredients for reducing fine wrinkles, age spots and uneven pigmentation, as well as counteracting loss of elasticity. The serum also contains a high dose of anti-oxidants. Antioxidants are considered to be beneficial in slowing down the ageing processes in the body. The addition of stabilized hyaluronic acid enhances the long lasting moisturising effect of the serum and compensates for the drying effect of the retinol. Visible results can be expected within a month. Your skin’s firmness and hydration will improve, giving rise to a radiant and more even skin texture and tone. Active ingredients: Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol 0.4%, Curcumine, Ceramide 3. Suggested usage (Consult with your skin care practitioner about how to use Restylane Night Serum): Apply to thoroughly cleansed skin in the evening. Begin by using the serum every third evening. This serum is very concentrated and does not need to be followed up with a night cream. Take note! Sun exposure must be avoided. Do not use the product the evening before sun bathing. Restylane® Recover Cream is a calming and soothing formulation for treating skin after aesthetic skin treatments. Containing the DMS lipid structure, Restylane Recover Cream has high compatibility with your own skin and so strengthens and repairs the natural skin barrier. Restylane Recover Cream contains arnica, which reduces swelling and bruises, and has a calming and soothing effect. Extracts from rice bran build up the important anti-oxidative shield of the outer skin layer. Active ingredients: Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, DMS, Arnica, and Ceramide 3. Suggested usage: Apply to the treated area for up to 2 weeks after aesthetic procedures, including Restylane treatments.

Constant exposure to soaps, weather, chemicals and other external stress factors weakens the skin barrier of your hands. Restylane® Hand Cream builds up your own protective skin barrier, thereby restoring your hands’ inherent softness. Restylane Hand Cream contains extracts from rice which protects the important anti-oxidative shield of your outer skin layer, leaving your hands feeling soft, smooth and moisturised. The cream also strengthens nails. Active ingredients: Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, DMS, and Ceramide 3. Suggested usage: Apply to hands whenever your skin feels dry. Restylane Hand Cream is fully absorbed by the skin after a couple of minutes.

The ABC of Restylane Skincare Active Substances/Active Ingredients
Free Radicals
Active substances in cosmetic formulations provide additional benefits, such as an antiwrinkling or soothing effect on the skin. However, for optimal results it is essential that the active substances are stabilized and that the dosage is high enough.
Free radicals are very reactive molecules, such as by-products from cellular metabolism, often increased by smoking, alcohol, radiation and heavy metals, that start a chain of oxidative reactions in the skin and in the body, making cells “rust”. New cells will become mutated or defective, old cells will be harmed or killed. Free radicals add to the skin ageing process.
A few examples: - Vitamin A/Retinol: One of very few active ingredients that has been scientifically proven to reduce wrinkles. An effective dosage will often show in slight redness and flaking skin in the beginning of the treatment, a sign of improved skin regeneration - Anti-oxidants - Ceramides: Lipids (fatty substances) found in the skin. Energising nutrients: Niacinamide, creatine and acetyl carnitine that improve the skin cell metabolism, making it work as a younger cell
Anti-oxidants Anti-oxidants neutralise free radicals in the skin by preventing the oxidative chain reaction. Anti-oxidants therefore work as anti-rust protection in the skin and body, promoting growth and youth, preventing cell damage and premature ageing.
Glossary
Lipids Fat-soluble substances such as fats, oils, waxes, cholesterol, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins (such as vitamins A, D, E and K).
DMS – Derma Membrane System This is a very advanced technology where the skincare formula is developed with the skin as the model. By choosing only lipids that are found in the skin (ceramides, squalane, phospholipids etc) and by using advanced technology, the lipids in the cream will self assemble in laminar sheets (ultra thin flakes) that are identical to those found in the human outer skin. A cosmetic formulation with DMS has an extraordinary long-term effect on skin moisture as it can replace skin lipids, whereas conventional creams can only form a temporary fatty layer on the skin surface.
Creams with DMS can help the skin rebuild its own protective skin barrier. With the use of DMS, the skin will regain its own protection, thereby effiectively preventing premature ageing.
Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid Hyaluronic acid is a water binding substance essential for skin hydration and the production of collagen and elastin which makes the skin smooth and toned. Its natural rate of degradation in the skin is very fast. A unique process of stabilization (NASHA™ technology), used in all Restylane® products, slows down the degradation process significantly. Together with the DMS lamellar structure, the stabilized hyaluronic acid provides the skin with a unique protection, added hydration and skin smoothness.
Skin Barrier This is the topmost layer of the skin consisting of flattened skin cells together with layered lipids and water-binding salts. The skin barrier is very protective, preventing harmful substances from entering the body. However, if the skin barrier has been destroyed by detergents, UV-radiation or other irritants, the protective function is lost, leading to premature ageing.
Stabilized Active Ingredients Active ingredients are often very reactive and easily lose their effect when exposed to light or when mixed together with other ingredients in a cosmetic formulation. Active ingredients are therefore “stabilized” by the use of new technologies, such as embedding them in lipids or by making them “solid” in extremely small particles. This stabilization prevents the active ingredients from breaking down before being applied and absorbed by the skin.
Therapeutic Dose/Active Dose This is the amount of an active substance that has been scientifically proven to have an effect. A therapeutic/active dose of a substance in a skin care formula will ensure that the product contains enough of the active substance to make a difference.
