The time has come to meet the true King of the Orchestra. Joining us in the double capacity of soloist and fellow musician is Rick Stotijn, one of the world's leading double bass players. We are also officially welcoming our new artistic director, Malin Broman. The concert programme is a fiery one, one that will get your imagination flowing. Three composers from different eras and cultures give us a taste of what passion meant to them. The bass player is the one fuelling the music from bottom to top. music by

Music and time Emotions, elegance and action are three words to describe what's to be expected when Musica Vitae meet with Frispel, the cross-over trio that mixes traditional Nordic music with that of medieval Europe. Swedish folk music, languorous Romanian tunes from the Middle Ages and fiery Italian estampies will envelope the listeners making it almost impossible to sit still. The music is arranged by Stefan Levin. with

at the Concert Hall What is friendship? Yankho Kamwendo is a popular presenter of Swedish children's tele vision programmes. Together with his chums in the orchestra he's wondering what friendship is really like. Are the instruments best friends? Are the best sounds made when they are the same or diverse? Magical powers can be found in music and at the concert we are all sure to become best friends. Before and after the concert, the concert hall foyer is filled with activities. You can listen to bands from the local music schools, get you face painted, do paper craft or take a quiz. with

changing In 2015 we celebrate the 150 years anniversary of the great Nordic composers Carl Nielsen and Jean Sibelius. The two of them lived in times of great change, where wars, the birth of new nations, scientific achievements and new musical currents had great impact on their lives and on their work. In this concert some of their magnificent chamber music is paired with the elegant neoclassicism of Francis Poulenc, and the Concerto for Organ, Strings and Timpani by the latter makes full use of the impressive church organs. Rekviem

A Journey Beyond and Within Rekviem - a meeting between Musica Vitae Chamber Orchestra, singers from the Stockholm-based Harmony of Voices Choir and Circus Glass Royale. Choreography, video projections and music in fusion take us on an enticing journey for all the senses. Sensual French Baroque combined with the pensive sound of an electric guitar in Gavin Bryars' After the Requiem form a moving visual performance focusing on the properties of glass - still liquid. All performances are presented by the arts festival Smålands Kulturfestival. music by

This time of the year is oozing with tradition, and the month of December offers you no less than three occasions to get into the Christmas spirit together with your very own chamber orchestra, Musica Vitae. In our family concert we are joined by Olle Steimer, Santa's elves and Saint Lucia with her entourage. Actress Catherine Westling is our guest as we bring you some of our most beloved Christmas music, poems and stories. On the fourth Sunday of Advent we go full circle when we once again can be heard in the Växjö Cathedral. with
