1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS • • • •
Windows 2003 Server IIS installed Drive C Drive D (data drive must be present)
Note: Remove any images or folder websites on drive D.
2. INSTALLATION 2.1 Installing Prerequisite Programs The Mirax Digital slide Desktop (MDSD) requires prior installation of Microsoft .NET Framework and Java as follows: 1.) Launch Setup.exe. When the following prompt appears, click OK. Note: This prompt only appears if Java Runtime is not installed.

2.) Click Yes. Note: This prompt only appears if .NET Framework 1.1 is not installed.
3.) Select Typical setup - All recommended features will be installed. Click Accept.
4.) Click Finish to complete the installation.

2.2 Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine 1.) Do NOT click Cancel. Allow the Windows Installer to configure.

2.3 Installing the MDSD 1.) Click Next to install the MDSD.
2.) Select I accept the terms in the license agreement. Click Next.

3.) Enter User Name and Organization. In the lower section of the dialog box, select the radial button, Anyone who uses this computer (all users). Click Next.

2.4 Procedure for Manual Configuration 1.) Go to Computer Management and open Services and Applications followed by Internet Information Services.
2.) Go to Web Service Extensions. Make sure that ASP .NET v1.1.4322 Web Service Extension is set to Allowed. Click Add a new Web service extension link.

3.) Input jakarta as the extension name and specify "isapi_redirect.dll" from C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\bin\win32 as the required file. Select Set extension status to Allowed. Click OK.

6.) Open Web Sites folder. Right click on the Default Web Site and select Properties.

7.) Select the Home Directory tab. Specify D:\Websites\MDSD in the local path field. Click Browse to select this folder.

10.) Input jakarta as the filter name and C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\bin\win32\isapi_redirect.dll as the executable. Click OK.

16.) Restart Internet Information Services by right-clicking Internet Information Services, All Tasks. and then Restart IIS.

18.) Stop Apache Tomcat by right-clicking on the Tomcat icon system tray. Click Stop service. To start Apache Tomcat, right-click on the Tomcat system tray. Click Start.
2.5 Accessing the MDSD 1.) Open Internet Explorer and go to http://localhost/?u=dsm to access the MDSD Login window. Input admin for both Username and Password.

3. MIRAX DIGITAL SLIDE DESKTOP INSTALL ADDENDUM Adding permissions to move files using the Web interface may be necessary. If you receive an access denied error, please make sure the permissions are set on the D:\Images\Slides directory properly. Below are some general instructions; however, it is advisable contact your IT Department for help. 1.) Open Windows Explorer and navigate to D:\Images. Right-click on the Slides folder, and click on Properties. Click on the Security Tab as seen below. 2.) Click Add.
