Agency placed ads will be billed to the agency, not the advertiser. The advertiser remains responsible for all advertising not paid by their agency. Agency discount: 15%, cash discount. Agency discount will not be allowed if invoice is not paid within 45 days of invoice date. Invoices for agency placed ads not paid within 45 days will be forwarded to advertiser for payment. New advertisers must submit payment with their first insertion and complete a credit application. Credit references are then given individual consideration for open terms.

Open terms are net 30 days from invoice date. No agency discounts on inserts, classified ads or printing. Should an invoice be turned over for collection, advertiser forfeits all discounts & pays the cost of collection if incurred. Mechanical Charges For Agency Placed Ads: Any work done on ads will be charged to agency. Non-Agency Advertiser: Additional production charges will be billed to advertiser, including all artwork. Cancellations/Changes of Ads: Cancellation of advertising contracts by advertiser and/or advertising agency must be received by VDTA•SDTA, in writing, on or before the advertising deadline for the scheduled publication. If such cancellation reduces the number of advertising placements in a multiple issue contract, all placements in that contract will be rebilled at the applicable one-time advertising rate. Cancellations or changes in orders are not accepted after an issue closing date. Mechanical Requirements Accepted Files: We accept digital files only, preferably high resolution, with no compression, CMYK fontembedded PDF. All bitmaps, photos, should be at least 300 dpi. Acrobat files should be created using the “high quality” setting. At the advertisers discretion, ads may be submitted as 300 dpi or greater TIF files. We do not accept Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher for advertising. Accepted Media: CD, Flashdrive, DropBox, or E-mail (preferred). Digital files less than 50 MB should be sent to [email protected]. CDs and Flashdrives can be mailed to 2724 2nd Avenue; Des Moines, IA 50313. Proofs: Proof should accompany all digital materials. The publisher assumes no responsibility for files sent without a color proof. Photos: Digital photos must be as follows: 300 DPI at 100%, CMYK color and .TIF format. If .JPG format is used be certain that the file was created using the highest quality setting (least amount of compression. Cover Story Images: If you are selected to provide a photo for the cover story, please see accompanying page for additional specifications.

Contract Conditions Publisher reserves the right to reject or edit advertising and news releases inconsistent with the objectives of VDTA•SDTA. Advertisers and advertising agencies are responsible for all content of their advertising, news articles and releases and assume liability for any claims against publisher arising therefrom. Publisher assumes no liability whatsoever for the content, claims or statements of the advertising and news releases it publishes. Advertiser and/or advertising agency agree to indemnify and hold harmless publisher, publisher’s staff, agents and officers against expenses, losses and legal fees resulting from publication of the contents of their advertising, articles and/or press releases. VDTA•SDTA assumes no liability for failure to print, publish or distribute any or all of an issue due to strikes, civil disruption, fire, accidents, acts of God or any circumstances beyond publisher’s control. Cover Story Specifications When selecting images for the cover, please consider that they will be used to represent the cover story. Ads will not be accepted for the cover image. All product or subject information accompanying the cover image must appear in the story, not on the cover image. The cover story will either have the lead line in the teasers on the cover or will appear in a prominent position and will be added by the publisher. The publisher reserves the right to tease other stories on the cover, where appropriate. When the submitted image is larger than 8 5/8" wide or 11" tall, the publisher reserves the right to crop where necessary to fit the publication cover. If cropping is necessary, you may provide a copy of the photo along with the photo, indicating where you prefer the cropping to occur. Indications for cropping are viewed as suggestions and are not accepted as a requirement by the publisher. Any part of the photo within 1/2 inch of the photo's edge may be trimmed in production. The masthead, logo and label are permanent structures of the publication's cover and will not be moved. The color and placement of these structures are determined by the publisher. Every effort to ensure a satisfactory cover will be made. Advanced proofs will not be sent to the client. Final approval for the cover image, where story teasers occur and final cropping of the cover image is at the discretion of the publisher. Photos should be 8 5/8" x 11" and digital images must be at least 300 dpi. The trim size of the magazine is 8 1/8" x 10 1/2". Make sure the live matter of the photo is inside these dimensions to avoid trimming important photo content. You may submit either a photo, TIF or JPEG file in CMYK (any RGB files will be converted to CMYK where a color shift may occur). We do not accept images embedded in Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher.

VDTA / Epstein Scholarship Fund:

VDTA•SDTA Awards & Cocktail Reception Sponsorships:

Every year, the VDTA / Epstein Scholarship worth up to $10,000 is awarded to a male and female applicant who are pursuing a collegiate-level education. The scholarship is a member’s only benefit, meaning the scholarship is for VDTA•SDTA dealer members, their dependents, employees, and employee dependents. It is primarily funded through the VDTA / Epstein Charity Night at the annual VDTA•SDTA Trade Show and Convention. Manufacturers and distributors can contribute by donating prizes to the spinning wheel, sponsoring a table at the charity poker tournament, or donating to the fund directly.

Held the evening before the Trade Show opens, this event brings together friends across the country and celebrates the people our industries.
