May 2010 Twenty four years ago this October I committed my life to serving Jesus Christ after my parents placed me in a Christian school when I was sixteen. It was the thirteenth school I had attended since kindergarten and I hated being placed in a Christian school. However, the teachers and students at Lakeland Christian School truly modeled Christ for me. I knew after I committed my life to Christ I wanted to serve in the same type of ministry which had influenced me so much. I have been so blessed as The Christian Academy provides the same type of ministry to young people and their families. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to serve you. Fashion Show The 5th grade girls had the opportunity in April to do a fashion show for their moms and 4th grade girls. The goal of the fashion show was to demonstrate that a young lady can be beautiful and modest simultaneously. Thank you to the mothers who attended and for the elementary teachers and junior and senior girls who put together the show.
Knighting Ceremony The 4th and 5th grade boys ministered to the town of Brookhaven along with teachers and high school boys by spreading mulch at Garzia Park. After mulching the boys came back on campus and five boys were “knighted.” These boys were selected by the teachers as young men of outstanding character. The boys knighted were Kei-Shon Graham, Andre Jones, Jake Sitkowski, Anthony O’Brien, and Joshua Avalos.
JR/SR Banquet Teachers and parents worked side by side to make the JR/SR Banquet a night to remember for the seniors. The theme this year was “A Starlight Cruise.” The gym was converted into a cruise ship, where students enjoyed miniature golf, wave running, line dancing, and great food.

Race for Education Thank you to Mrs. Roach and PTO for overseeing and pioneering another year for the Race for Education. We were able to raise more than $32,000 dollars to paint and replace all the ceiling tiles in the hallways.
