PMC Cylinders has been manufacturing hydraulic cylinders and other hydraulic products since the 1950s, and many users have benefited from its experience over the years. LHA 25 double action hydraulic cylinder – for high demands On the following pages we present our LHA cylinder range, a versatile type of cylinder designed for 250 bar which is suitable for heavy-duty mobile and industrial applications as well as harsh marine environments.

PMC Cylinders´ cylinder programme PMC Cylinders offers a standard range of hydraulic cylinders, although much of our production consists of customised special applications. We deliver cylinders with piston diameters of 20 – 800 mm and stroke lengths of up to 12 m, depending on the dimensions and design in both black and stainless steel grades.

Most of our customers are to be found in four fields: Energy, Offshore & Marine, Mobile Systems and Industry. PMC holds a leading position in the energy field as a supplier to the wind-power industry. Our industrial customers are mainly steelworks, papermills and mining companies who automate with the help of hydraulics. In Offshore & Marine, PMC collaborates with many of the world’s leading equipment manufacturers. Mobile Systems comprise manufacturers of such things as forklift trucks, mobile cranes, logging machines and mining and construction equipment. With our service organisation we can quickly be on the spot to solve problems that arise in production. We naturally stock spare parts and other components needed to avoid needless stoppages and delays in production.

Double action hydraulic cylinder LHA 25

LHA 25, Linear Hydraulic Actuator LHA (Linear Hydraulic Actuator) 25 is a result of a joint venture between the industrial and mobile communities in Sweden and the offshore and marine communities in Norway. The result is a flexible cylinder designed for 250 bar, which is ideal both for use in both industrial and mobile applications as well as in maritime surrundings.   The cylinder has been type-approved by DNV and has standard piston diameter dimensions of Ø 32 to Ø 400 mm.

Rod surface: H 20–30 my chrome. N Nickel/chrome (max Ø100, only for rods in C material), environments that have moderate corrosion risk. Materials: All materials, apart from the rod, are carbon steel, approved for use by DNV. Rod C Carbon steel. Industrial usage, environments that have no corrosion risk. R Stainless steel (1.4418), environments that have a corrosion risk. Bearings: S Standard. Spherical bearing in C steel, must be lubricated. B Bronze. Spherical or straight bearings with C steel outer ring, must be lubricated, but are a better solution with regard to corrosion. C Composite. Spherical or straight bearing in composite material with C steel outer ring, must be lubricated, but is a better solution with regard to corrosion. D Composite/bronze (Spherical). Spherical bearing with bronze or stainless steel outer ring, can be used without lubrication and has excellent anti-corrosive properties. R Stainless Steel (Spherical). Spherical bearing in stainless steel, maintenance-free. V Maintenance-free (Spherical). Spherical bearing, maintenance-free. Seals:

S Standard. Speed max. 0.5m/s, temp max. 80 Cº. W Water Glycol. Speed max. 0.5m/s, temp max. 120 Cº. V High temperature/speed. F Low friction.

Classification of seal applications: S Standard. General use mineral-based hydraulic media. W Water Glycol. Demanding uses and/or water-glycol-based media. No stick-slip. V High temperature/speed. For use in high temperature environments. No stick-slip. F Low friction. No stick-slip.

Sävsjø in Sweden. Established in 1957. The CA-verken division of PMC Cylinders offers a wide range of small and medium-sized hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic components for virtually all types of industrial activity, including marine applications. Many of our customers benefit from PMC Cylinders’ years of experience with customised, complete hydraulic systems.

Skede in Sweden. Established in 1870. Hällaryd produces the largest cylinders – for dam hatches, bascule bridges and heavy industry. The cylinders are manufactured in sizes up to around 800 mm in diameter with stroke lengths of up to 15 metres.

Vaggeryd in Sweden. Established in 1928. The Vaggeryd division of PMC Cylinders constructs and produces small, medium-sized and long cylinders for load handling among other applications. The cylinders, which are produced in four production units, are used for fork lift trucks, reach stackers, mobile cranes and marine cranes, both in and outside Europe.

PMC Cylinders are quality-certified according to ISO 9001:2008.
