Social Media Tags

Kickdynamic Social Media This document outlines how to use the Kickdynamic platform to create Tags to embed into your existing email html. The guide takes you through a step by step journey to create each tag for your contextual marketing campaigns.

Introduction to Social Tags Social Tags Using a Kickdynamic Social Tag you can automatically pull your latest Twitter, Facebook and Instagram posts into your email at the time of open. The UI offers a variety of attractive templates for you to use or if you’d prefer to use your own we can upload custom templates.

Top Tip: Embed social Tags into your lifecycle email to keep email content up-to-date and fresh each time the email is opened. Using a Tag means that your email will always display the latest posts automatically so you can reduce the amount of time and resource it takes to pause and update the content in your lifecycle campaigns. Add Tags to your welcome program, transactional and sales recovery emails!

Social Templates Templates In the platform you will find a number of templates preloaded into your account for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. These templates vary in width, size, style and design. You can use any of these templates as many times as you wish. S you’ll see there are various options for the number of posts you can display from one post up to 4 of the latest posts.

Custom templates If you’d like a to include a social Tag in your email that’s on brand, Kickdynamic will add a customized template to your account.

Twitter Tags Twitter Tags automatically display the latest Twitter posts in your email at the moment of open. You can choose to display only your tweets, or you may wish to show replies and retweets. Here are examples of a Kickdynamic Twitter Tag in action:

Creating a Twitter Tag Click on the twitter icon in the hover over menu:

Name the campaign, then click next. Add a description in the description box and then click on the template you would like to use. If you have requested a custom template, it will automatically appear in this section.

Top Tip: Make sure you know the size of the area in your email where you want to add the Tag to. You can then select the best template for the area. Once you have selected the template you wish to use, click next.

Define your rule It is now time to define your Twitter Feed rule. If you select Timeline, posts on your timeline will appear in the feed, you can also choose to shop replies and retweets.

If you wish to filter the tweets on your timeline using a specific hashtag, you need to use the following format in the handle box: #Hashtag from:TwitterHandle Insert your chosen hashtag and your twitter handle to pull through tweets that only relate to that hastag. Click next to generate the Tag. Copy and paste the Tag into your HTML where you wish the latest Twitter posts to display.

To review the tag copy and paste the image URL into a broswer, as indicated in yellow below:

Top tip: Think carefully about showing replies. The latest replies will show in the feed.

Instagram Tags Instagram Tags automatically display the latest Instagram posts in your email at the moment of open. There are a number of template options in the Kickdynamic platform with anything from 1 to 5 posts visible within the one Tag. Here are examples of a Kickdynamic Instagram Tags in action:

Creating an Instagram Tag Click on the Instagram icon in the hover over menu:

Name the campaign, then click next. Add a description in the description box and then click on the template you would like to use. If you have requested a custom template, it will automatically appear in this section.

Enter  the  Instagram  handle  in  the  ‘define  your  Instagram  F eed  rule’.  This  will  generate  your   instagram image.  

Click next to generate the Tag. Copy and paste the Tag into your HTML where you wish the latest Instagram post to display.

Facebook Tags Facebook Tags automatically display the latest Facebook posts in your email at the moment of open. Here are examples of a Kickdynamic Facebook Tags in action:

Name the campaign, then click next. Add a description in the description box and then click on the template you would like to use. If you have requested a custom template, it will automatically appear in this section.

Once you have selected the template you wish to use, click next.

Define your Facebook feed rule It is now time to define your facebook feed rule to determines which Facebook page the content will be pulled from. Type in the name of your Facebook page. A list of pages for you to choose from will appear. Select your page from the drop down list. Once you have selected your page a preview of the tag will appear.

Click next to generate the Tag. Copy and paste the Tag into your HTML where you wish the latest Facebook post to display.
