JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD! ALLELUIA!

With great joy at the Easter Vigil we welcomed Tracy Elizabeth Fink and Kara Benedicta Sprowl into full communion with the Catholic Church. They and Patrick Martin Yost were confirmed by Bishop Conlon. We continue to hold them in prayer. We are most grateful to the many servers, lectors, ministers of Holy Communion who so willingly volunteered to minister to our parish community during the Holy Week. Your assistance made our times of prayer very special as you witnessed to our faith by your actions. We are very grateful to the priests and deacons who were present and joined with Bishop Conlon for our celebrations of the paschal mystery. It was truly an experience of the fullness of the church. Our choirs sounded fantastic. Because of the joining together of so many talented people, it was a sound that we do not experience on our normal Sundays. Their musical gifts being joined with the wonderful response from the congregation was very uplifting and truly aided us in giving praise to God. As ministers, if you the congregation are not present, our work would be without meaning. We thank each and everyone who came to the many services at Holy Name Cathedral and Holy Rosary Church. May the Lord continue to strengthen us and form us into the one Body of Christ. Fr. Mark is given a special “thank you” for working with all of the above groups and individuals. Through him the Holy Spirit, enabled everyone to work together and lift one voice in praise of God as we journeyed through Holy Week to Easter Sunday. ~ Fr. Nau

CWC MESSAGE: “What’s in your wallet?”

While that Capital One TV commercial may be entertaining, there is nothing funny about the financial struggle that many of our parish families continue to face. Despite our own pressing needs, last year, our parish donated more than $800 to the Madonna Plan to assist pregnant and nursing moms and their children in need of medical care. More than just a “hand-out”, the Madonna plan also provides low- interest loans to women so they can use their skills (like weaving) to establish small businesses and to support their own families.

Once again, on Mother’s Day, May 8th, the TOTC Catholic Women’s Club is asking each family to consider donating $1.00 to educate and empower mothers and children in over thirty different countries throughout the world. “What’s in your wallet?”... Not nearly as much as what is in your heart and we thank you for your loving sacrifice. TOTC Catholic Women’s Club executive committee SACRAMENTS Sacramental Information and registration forms are available at parish web-site www.triumphofthecross.org.

CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS: There are many dioceses right here in the United States whose parishes struggle to keep their doors open. These dioceses are classified as home missions and cannot maintain pastoral programs like catechesis, youth ministry, and seminary formation on their own. The Catholic Home Missions Appeal supports these dioceses by funding essential ministries, including aid to vulnerable parishes. Please be generous in this Appeal and help strengthen the Church at home.

CONDOLENCES: (CCC 1405) “There is no

surer pledge or clearer sign of this great hope in the new heavens and new earth ‘in which righteousness dwells,’ than the Eucharist. Every time this mystery is celebrated, ‘the work of our redemption is carried on’ and we ‘break the one bread that provides the medicine of immortality, the antidote for death, and the food that makes us live forever in Jesus Christ.’” With this great hope we pray for our brother who has died:

Jack Marook, 63, April 20. May he enjoy the eternal

banquet the Lord has prepared for him.

CONGRATULATIONS: (CCC 1227) “According to the Apostle Paul, the believer enters through Baptism into communion with Christ’s death, is buried with him, and rises with him ……

The baptized have ‘put on Christ.’

Through the Holy Spirit, Baptism is a bath that purifies, justifies, and sanctifies.”’ Remember to pray for our newly baptized who has entered in the Body of Christ

Dara Alise Collopy child of Michael & Kelli Ann (Basil) Collopy

May she “put on Christ, as she becomes a member of the church.”
