Quick Start Guide Introduction

This guide explains how to set up the DVR and your tablet or smartphone for viewing the cameras. We recommend setting up this system at home at least once, to make sure everything works fine and nothing is missing. It will also allow you to quickly set it up at the swimming pool.

Package Contents Included in this package is:

A DVR-System.

1-4 Cameras.

A power supply with 4 connectors, for the cameras.

• • • • • •

A Wireless Access-Point. 1-4 Video cables. A network cable. A power cable for the Wireless Access-Point. Camera-mounting equipment. This Quick-start Guide. A Reference Guide.

Also included, but not needed at the swimming-pool, only for viewing and exporting videos from the DVR: • A remote control. • A mouse.

A larger power supply + cable for the DVR.

In order to use this system, you will also need to provide an IPad, IPhone, or a tablet or smartphone running Android. Furthermore, as swimming-pools tend to not have very many power outlets, and this system uses three, you will also probably need a power-extension cord and a power-strip.

App installation In order to be able to use this system, you need to install one of the following apps from the App-store (Ipad/IPhone), or Play-Store (Android) onto your smartphone or tablet from your own wireless connection before setting up the DVR: • IPad/IPhone: "ASee+" from the developer "Sun Jian". i • Android Tablets: "ASeePro" from the developer "meyetech" ii. • Android Phones: "ASeeProHD" from the developer "meyetech". We will configure this app once we have set up the DVR. This system provides a wireless network that does not provide an internet-connection, only a local network, so you cannot install any apps while connected to this network.

And here is a step-by-step guide to do so: 1. Connect the cameras to the video cables. Make sure you connect it to the proper end of the cable as the powerconnector on the cable is different on the two ends. In case you have trouble connecting the BNC-plugs on the video cables: a. Properly align the 2 plugs:

b. Insert the plugs into each other. c. Rotate the freely rotatable part of the plug to the right until it clicks into position, while pressing it towards the other plug. It should then look like this:

2. Connect the video cables to inputs 1 through 4 on the DVR. Inputs 5 through 8 are not set to record by default. 3. Connect the video cables to the 4-connector power supply. iii 4. Connect the Wireless Access-Point to the DVR with the network cable. Your setup should now look like this:

5. 6. 7. 8.

Connect the second power supply to the DVR (the connector is on the left bottom side on the back). Connect the Wireless AP to its power cable. Plug the power adapters and the Wireless AP into a power outlet. Turn on the DVR (the power-switch is on the left top side on the back) and Access-Point (there’s a small powerswitch on it next to the network-connector), and wait about a minute until a red light labeled "HDD" in the bottom-right corner on the front of the DVR starts blinking. The DVR is now booted, and you can now proceed to connect your smartphone or tablet to it.

Please note, again, that the provided Wireless Access-Point is solely meant to connect to the DVR, and does NOT provide an internet-connection, only a local network. The DVR is configured to continuously record the first four channels whenever it’s powered on. You can view and export those recordings by connecting a monitor and mouse. Consult the Reference Guide for further instructions.

Connect to the Wireless Network On your smartphone or tablet, you now need to connect to the DVR’s wireless network before opening the app: 1. The DVR needs to be powered on and connected to the Wireless Access-Point. 2. Open the Settings-app on your smartphone/tablet and go to Wi-Fi. 3. Wait until the Network "aquacam" shows up, and tap on it to connect. It may sometimes take a long time before this network shows up. 4. It will now ask for the Password. Enter aquacam1 and tap Join(IPad/IPhone) or Connect(Android). iv

App Setup on Tablets You can now open the app to configure it: 1. Make sure the device-list is shown on the left side. If it is not, press

2. Press the in the bottom-left bar to add a device. 3. Enter the following settings and press OK in the top bar: o Name: AquaCam (you can choose any name here) o Address: 192.168.0.100 o Port: 9000 o User Name: admin o Password: 12345 o Channels: 4 (or 8 if you have connected more than 4 cameras) 4. Make sure the app shows 4 screens. If not, press on the bottom bar. 5. Press on "Aquacam" in the device list (or the name you gave it) to show the channels/cameras. 6. On the IPad, drag every connected channel/camera to a separate screen. On Android , you first need to tap a screen to select that screen, then tap a channel/camera to show that camera on that screen. Do so for every camera. The system is now fully set up and ready for use. You can reorder the screens by dragging them around, and maximize and restore them by double-tapping on a screen v.

You can hide the interface by holding you smartphone sideways (in portrait-mode). You can maximize and restore a screen by double-tapping on it.

Footnotes i

Please note that there are several very similar and/or duplicated apps from other developers in the app/play-store. Don't install any of those. Furthermore, the apps's developer provides (nearly) the same app under different names, for different DVRs. Those might work, but are not supported by us. ii The same app is also available under the name "MeyePro" (Phones) and "MeyeProHD" (Tablets). iii The two power-adapters are interchangeable. It doesn't really matter which device you connect to which power-adapter. iv The Ipad and Iphone tend to connect to the topmost available network in the list whenever it loses its connection or resumes from standby. As such, make sure all other known networks available in the same location as the AquaCam-AP are either removed from the list or have a lower priority (are shown lower in the list) than the AquaCam-AP in order to make sure you keep connected to the AquaCam's AP. v A screen sometimes goes “missing” after unmaximizing it. It’s hiding under one of the other screens, normally the first one. You can get it back by dragging the screen under which it is hiding.
