Item # 1 F50 Improvements: Currently in stock, the F50 has undergone some design changes to the circuit board to address intermittent failures that have been reported from our customers. Even though the failure rate has been far less than other models, some assembly issues have also been identified and addressed to improve the overall quality of this product. These changes have already been implemented and are embodied in the current inventory available for shipping today. Item # 2 The S36 Surrounds New and Improved: The surrounds for the BGD36CF series fireplaces have been redesigned to improve the assembly process and ultimately the product quality. We have also reviewed and improved the packaging, which includes a heavier larger carton and the use of styrofoam in the corners to absorb the impacts that occur. Look for these improvements in your next orders for these products. Item # 3 Reduced Clearances to Ceilings for Gas Fireplaces: The following list of Direct Vent Gas Fireplaces have been approved with a reduced clearance to a ceiling in the room the fireplace is installed in. The reduced clearance is now 54” from the base of the relative fireplace, which will enable all these fireplaces to be positioned closer to eye level. For example, a rear vented Crystallo previously needed 72” from the base to the ceiling, which made the top 38” away from the ceiling. With the reduced clearance, the top of this fireplace need only be 18” away from the ceiling. The models affected by this change are: BGD33, BGD34, BGD36 series, BGD40, BGD42, GD19, GD33, GD34, GD36, GD70, GD82 and HD35. The relative manuals will all be updated as a running change. Item # 4 EPA 2100, 2200 & 1450 Stove Bases Improved: The bases supporting the pedestals of these stoves will be reinforced to improve its overall rigidity. The angled support will be replaced using the same 1” flat bar stock as is currently used on the EPA 1900 base. Item # 5 The 5”/8” Vent Pipe Adjustable Firestop Height Increased: The W010-1778 adjustable firestop included with the BGD42 Gas Fireplace and sold as an accessory to the 5” & 8” Vent Kits for diagonal wall penetration has been changed to part number W010-2116. This new firestop has been increased in height by 1” for a total 3.5” of material above the vent pipe to provide better coverage of the wall opening.
