For the launch vehicle market, Moog provides an array of key technologies that can be customized for your applications. Almost 60 years of proven heritage has provided hundreds of launch vehicle flight controls for commercial, science and military applications. We are focused on and committed to providing the launch vehicle industry with major subsystems and components which will deliver mission success at a reasonable cost. Motion Controls: We provide custom products and engineering expertise in all facets of actuation technology, including electromechanical (EM), electrohydraulic (EH), electrohydrostatic (EHA) and pneumatic. Propulsion Controls: Our propulsion controls support cryogenic and storable propellant main engines as well as reaction control applications. Moog is providing innovative, manifold solutions for complex fluid control requirements on main engines and feed systems. Avionics: Since 1971, Moog has been committed to providing control system solutions for TVC actuation, flight control, vibration control and mechanisms on launch vehicle, strategic missile and spacecraft applications. Our state-of-the-art electronics assembly and test facility is dedicated to low volume, high reliability products. Moog specializes in flight critical solutions with a staff of over 200 electrical and software engineers, experienced in guidance, navigation and flight control, actuation systems, propulsion systems, power systems, ordnance control, and high speed telemetry. Structures and Vibration Control: Our launch vehicle structures and payload interfaces alleviate loads on the payload, which allows the end customer to focus on on-orbit functionality rather than launch survivability.

Upon launch in 2011, Taurus II will provide responsive, low-cost and reliable access to space. In addition, it will have the capability to perform commercial re-supply missions to the International Space Station under a NASA Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) agreement. Moog has been part of the Orbital Sciences team since the design of the Pegasus rocket, supplying integrated cold gas thruster systems. Decades later, we are providing electrohydraulic and electromechanical TVC actuation systems for both the first and second stage of this rocket, along with roll and reaction control thrusters and electronic control units.

With our unique capabilities and a strong emphasis on mechanical, electrical and systems engineering, we offer a complete package of integrated technologies for satellites. Motion Controls:

We provide hundreds of Solar Array Drive Assemblies and Antenna Actuators that are orbiting the moon, in-flight for deep-space exploration and stationed around the earth for the advancement of science, security and communication. Propulsion Controls: Moog’s products are flexible to meet the needs of cryogenic liquid and gas propellants used in mono-propellant and bi-propellant feed systems and thrusters. We have a teaming agreement with ECAPS AB for high performance green propellant technologies that allow for the delivery of complete satellite propulsion systems. Avionics: Avionics, currently the fastest growing capability in our company, provides hardware, firmware and software design for integrated spacecraft solutions. Structures and Vibration Control: Our adapters enable multiple small payloads to launch with larger ones and function as the core of satellites and orbital transfer vehicles.

Space Systems/Loral designs, manufactures and integrates satellites and satellite systems for commercial and

governmental customers. The 1300 series satellite platform is used for a wide range of services including broadcast video, broadband digital multimedia communications, direct-to-home services, defense communications and air traffic control. Moog supplies deployment and positioning mechanisms for antennas, actuators for the stationary plasma thruster, chemical propellant latching and thruster valves, an electric propulsion pressure management assembly, vibration isolators and shock test services.

LATCHING THRUSTERS AND ISOLATION VALVES: Isolates the fuel and oxidizer lines leading to the apogee engine and also isolates the helium pressurant tank from the fuel and oxidizer tank.

ANTENNA DEPLOYMENT AND POSITIONING MECHANISM: 2-axis gimbals and single-axis actuators for the on-orbit deployment and positioning of the spacecraft antennae.

TYPE 3 ACTUATOR: Provides stepper-motor, geared actuators for the positioning of the Stationary Plasma Thruster (SPT).

ELECTRIC PROPULSION PRESSURE MANAGEMENT ASSEMBLY (PMA): Acts as the feedsystem for the Xenon propulsion system on the satellite.

VIBRATION ISOLATOR: Used to separate high vibration areas of a spacecraft structure from areas where significant vibration is not desired.
