Welcome to European Forest Machinery. We are UK based manufacturers of Botex Heavy Duty Equipment. Manufactured in Dalbeattie , in the South West of Scotland, we are the UK’s only manufacturers of forest cranes & trailers. We understand the needs of our home market like no other & design all Botex equipment with this in mind.
History Botex Products were originally designed & built in the south of England by Gordon Hoy, who had a factory in Colaton Raleigh, Devon. Wilson Machinery & European Forest Machinery acquired the business in 1997 & since then around 1500 units have been manufactured and sold from our factory.
Commitment We aim to support the forestry industry with the machinery they require, at a price they can afford. We aim to make it as easy as possible to get a new Botex unit through a number of support measures (including Finance & Part Exchange), so those who seek to have a heavy duty timber trailer & crane can purchase one easily!

Timber Loaders 360
FORESTER
The 360 Botex loaders are our mid lift units, designed to handle small to medium sized timber. These loaders can be detatched from a timber trailer & mounted to a tractors 3-point linkage. They can either be powered from the tractors hydraulics or by an independent PTO Pump. Multi Use Loader Although having a maximum lift of one tonne close in, the 360 loader is of robust contruction & can load larger logs by lifting one end at a time. It is also possible to mount other attachments such as crane fed chippers to the rear of the loader.

500 Series Heavy Lifting Loaders The 560, 570 and 580 loaders in the 500 series are our heavy duty units, capable of loading up to 2 tonnes. Again much heavier timber can be loaded if trailer pins are removed and one end lifted at a time. These loaders are designed with the professional user in mind, a machine that will get the job done with power to spare! These can be roof mounted on a Valtra tractor or fitted to a timber trailer or wood chipper.

Top Seller The 560 has been our top seller since 2002. It is an ideal multipurpose loader & many hundreds are working around the UK within private estates, with timber contractors, with local councils etc. They all require a one-stop loader which can cope with practically all their timber! For the Professional The 580 was developed to satisfy the needs of our modern industry. Most are roof mounted on Valtra tractors which can be used for high speed feeding of high production wood chippers. They can also be fitted to trailers & other machines.

Rotator
Designed to fit loaders, excavators, telehandlers & tractor front end loaders. The smaller of the two grab options, the 0.2 is designed for lifting objects up to 1.5 Tonnes, and is usually fitted to a 3 tonne rotator & quick hitch bracket, sold separately.
Designed to fit large loaders, excavators, telehandlers and tractor front end loaders. The larger of the two grab options, the 0.26 is designed for lifting objects up to 3 Tonnes, and is usually fitted to a 6 tonne rotator & quick hitch bracket, sold separately.
Many sizes & options available. Sold either stand alone, or mounted to an attachment such as a grab or clamshell bucket. As there are many differing specifications and aspects to consider when buying rotators, we recommend giving us a call to discuss your options.
Comfort Controls
Standard Botex hydraulic controls, simple & reliable. Outside levers control two functions each. Grab and extension levers on the inside of those. The two middle levers operate the stabiliser legs.
Similar to the standard hydraulic controls with the exception of the extension and grapple controls being incorporated into the main outside levers. This is done using 2 electric solenoid valves and buttons on the levers. The main advantage is that all loader controls are on 2 levers rather than the standard 4. The middle two levers are for the stabiliser legs.

The skidder allows the operator to pull out lengths of timber without leaving the seat of the tractor. Options are available, including fixed or extending boom & fitment of a rotator on the Grapple.
Designed to fit to loader cranes for use on loose materials, such as gravel, sand & lime. Capacity of 500 litre volume.
For fitment to telehandlers & tractor front end loaders, the Botex log beak is designed to be quickly attached & removed. Ideal for loading & unloading various sizes of timber.

Full Electric Advanced Controls 2 Lever, Joystick on armrests of seat or Small Valve options available. This is a highly professional system which mirrors purpose built forwarder crane controls.
Timber Trailer Models Euro The Botex Euro trailer is our top selling model. Typically used along side our larger 500 series loaders, this trailer is very heavy duty. Ranging from 6-14 tonne, this straight pinned forwarding trailer is very capable of carrying very large timber. The standard floation tyres used are a good hybrid between road & forestry tyres, ensuring it’s up to the task! This unit comes with a steering drawbar as standard, which is a great advantage on sites with difficult access routes as it greatly improves maneuverability.
Versatile The Botex Versatile trailer is our lighter model, typically used with the 300 series loaders or behind a tractor with a roof mounted crane. It is capable of forwarding up to 8 tonnes, has round swivel pins to carry up to two bays of timber. Steering drawbar is standard fitting.
Eco Very similar to the above Versatile trailer, in that it is capable of forwarding 8 tonnes. The Eco has a fixed drawbar, meaning the streering aspect has not been fitted.

Special Builds
Heavy ply flotation 400 x 15.5 x 14P tyres are fitted as standard on our trailers making them ideal for demanding forestry tasks,but if road tyres are preferred, then please let us know and we can add these to your order. Larger tyres available on request.
It is possible to have a machine exactly tailored to its purpose. We are happy to discuss custom built machinery to suit your exact requirments. Shown above is a hook lift trailer fitted with a heavy duty Botex loader.
Extension
Flat Bed
If you would prefer an extra long timber trailer, our trailers can be easily adapted to suit your requirements. You can either specify a trailer built to your exact dimensions or specify a trailer with built in extendability. The unit shown above is designed to extend to carry two bays of 3m timber. It can be worked in a variety of positions to give a bed length between from 4.2m - 5.2m.
Lift on, lift off Botex flat bed attachment for your Botex timber trailer. Create a multi-functional trailer capable of many tasks. This is often used to carry builders bags of logs, agrigate etc. The botex 500 series loader can easily load and unload the bags.

Upgrade to a new machine today
Finance, Part Exchange & Delivery Fixed Rate Finance
There are various ways in which our equipment can be purchased. You may have the money available to do a cash transaction, however if you consider spreading the cost over a period of time this can allow the machine to pay for itself and at the same time leave you access to your hard earned capital. We have links to carefully selected external finance organisations who can help you to obtain the funds required to purchase your new machine. Repayments are then usually made over 3, 4 or 5 years through fixed monthly payments. Finance can be arranged with as little as 10% deposit plus VAT or you can speak to us about part exchange options to cover your deposit.
Part Exchange If you are looking to upgrade your existing equipment & buy a new or used Botex machine, then we would be happy to consider any forestry (or other) machinery as a trade-in or a deposit for finance. We often accept plant and agricultural equipment as well as firewood machinery, tractors and other forest equipment. If you are interested in trading in an item, then please call us & we’ll advise you within hours of how much we will give towards a Botex.
Delivery Deliveries are carefully planned to balance speed & cost. Often our deliveries are combined to bring down your individual haulage cost. For example a Botex trailer crane delivery to Exeter would cost less than £500 + VAT. Trade-in machines are returned to us at our cost.
