We wish to thank all the participants in the Holla Mohalla celebration this past weekend! We particularly wish to thank the schools and the gurdwaras that participated and volunteered their time. In addition Mr. Jagjit Singh’s students displayed excellent Gatka skills during the event.

April 29th Parkash Purab Guru Angad Dev Ji Assembly and Langar: The school will be celebrating this occasion with an assembly and langar from 10-1:00pm on this date. If any parents are interested in volunteering please contact the office.

Once again we hope to have continued support of all the parents and volunteers. With all of the time and effort of all of our volunteers, our programs reach great success!

Vaisakhi Assembly April 14th : This assembly will take place from 8:30 – 9:30. The purpose of this assembly is to celebrate with the students the importance of Vaisakhi as the birth of the Khalsa.

them to come to the school office at the earliest as spots get filled up quickly. Children born in 2011 are eligible for admission to Kindergarten as well. Field Hockey Club: Mr. Basra is running a club for both boys and girls in grades 2-3. It is on Saturday from 8:50-10:00 in the school gym. This is a free club and we encourage our students to participate in this fun filled activity! Track and Field Club:

Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan – On April 23rd, G.A.D. students will continue their practice of participating with honour and pride in Surrey’s annual Vaisakhi Parade. The school is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the event. Further information of students’ involvement will be given closer to the date. GAD Science Fair: Students in the school will be participating in a school wide science fair on April 6. Students will be dismissed early at 12pm. Please come view the projects and celebrate how creative and imaginative our students are! This is an excellent opportunity to support and encourage our wonderful students. Viewing of the projects will be from 5-6pm. Yearbook Order Forms: Yearbook order forms will be coming home soon! The yearbook this year will have approximately 80 pages and be

Welcome back! We hope all of our G.A.D. families had a restful and fun Spring Break. We are in the last stretch of the school year. The third term is once again going to be full of excitement and learning. In the final term, students will continue to grow academically and have a chance to reach their goals.

Uniform Please remember to come to school dressed in your full school uniform. This includes ties, sweater, and blazer. Uniforms give students a sense of belonging to the school community and create an identity. Wearing the full uniform with pride is a way of building respectfulness and discipline.

2016 Budo Cup Karate Tournament: Our GAD Elementary champs got the opportunity to compete in the tournament. 12 students competed in the tournament and we won 1 Gold (Pervaiz Khosa) 2 Silver (Imroz Khosa, Rajveer Kular) 3 Bronze (Yaader Chattha, Manjot Sanghera, Manroop Kular, Harshaan Sidhu, Sahib Sandhu, Gurbaksh Bhangu, Gurnisha Dhillon). Congratulations to all the winners and participants! Way to go everyone!

Earth Day Assembly April 22: KGD and KGA will be organizing an assembly for Earth day. This is an international day set aside specifically to remind ourselves the importance of preserving and conserving the gifts of the Earth. Lights out Canada will also take place on this day. The idea behind lights out is that small changes can lead to a big difference.

Grade 7 Boys Basketball Team: The grade 7 boys basketball team will wrap up their season this Thursday at the "Battle of the Ridge" tournament at Panorama Ridge Secondary. Despite being the very first basketball season at GAD, the season was considered a success, with the boys winning approximately half their games.

Community Involvement

Volunteer Parents are welcome to volunteer and help out around the school. We all here wish to thank all parents for participating and being involved in the school community. If you are interested in volunteering please enquire in the office. Please note that Moving Forward Family Services agency will be providing Family counseling. Counseling sessions will be held at the office at GAD school. Minimum charges will apply for more information and to make appointment, Please call Navneet Bains at 604 715 3216.

Traffic: Please pay attention to all signage and park in designated spots. Please use the crosswalk to cross the street. Schedule: Please drop off students no later than 8:10am. Also please pick up students on time as there is no supervision available, unless they are in a club.
