MARTIN BAENA

Cabo Villas members and guests are in for a treat! Accomplished chef Cesar Pita has joined the beach club team to provide his culinary expertise! Cesar brings nearly 20 years of worldwide experience as a cook to the beach club, including eight years as a chef for leading hotels. Chef Cesar has resided in Cabo for the last nine years, and most recently served as the executive chef at Esperanza Resort. His extensive background also features culinary experience in Mexico City and Copenhagen, Denmark. Cesar invites you to stop by the beach club and say hello!

Martin Baena is the front desk manager of Cabo Villas! Originally from the state of Sonora, he has Francisco is a favorite with our members and guests, and he has added another facet to his incredible service! Francisco now serves private dinners at Cabo Villas Beach Resort! The specialty menu's include American, Asian, International, Mexican and Surf & Turf. Transportation services from the airport to Cabo Villas Beach Resort are available through Olympus Tours, who offer both shuttle and private services. Shuttle transportation to Cabo Villas is for arrival only, and is $18 USD per person (minimum of four passengers is required). Private transportation is $90 USD. BBQ POOL PARTY The U.S. Department of State recommends international travelers ensure that their passport has at least six months of validity beyond their dates of international travel to avoid unintended disruptions. United States citizens traveling on passports that expire in fewer than six months have increasingly been denied airline boarding or been detained upon arrival in certain foreign destinations, including Mexico. SPORTFISHING REPORT

We are having a strange year here in Cabo. After a long and beautiful fall fishing season, the water is still in the mid 70’s and beautiful blue in color. The fishing has been slightly difficult to predict, as regular fishing patterns are not really in place.The Striped Marlin bite has been fairly steady however, and the green Mackerel are here, so the Stripey’s will be showing in strong numbers shortly. There is a lot of warm water north of us still and this means the real migration is still to come! Very exciting as one never knows what may happen out there. New fish are rolling in each day. Dorado and Wahoo are being caught more as incidental catch nowadays, as they are on their way south to warmer waters. Seems the stragglers we are finding are some real nice fish however.The Tuna are showing and in good numbers. Large schools are being found on the Pacific. Some nice fish are mixed in with the school, good size Yellowfins. Captain Bernie landed a 150 lb fatty in mid-February. As the water cools the Snapper and Grouper bite will start, and the Yellowtail will also show. We love jigging Yellowtail and there is no better table fare. Bring your coolers! THE LOS CABOS CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION TV ON CHANNEL 18 Over the past 15 years, Cabo Villas Beach Resort & Spa has been grateful and honored to be a part of a number of caring foundations and charities in the Los Cabos area. Cabo Villas has grown extremely close with the Los Cabos Children Foundation. Their main goal is to provide medical assistance for children in the Los Cabos area suffering from cancer, heart defects and other serious illnesses. The LCCF and their amazing kids are showcased on channel 18. These children have little or no chance without treatment and medical assistance. A typical heart surgery for a child costs $10,000 (USD), while a year of cancer treatment totals $20,000 (USD). Cabo Villas invites you to join us in a rewarding experience with the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation. Abril Estrella, the first patient to be treated in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit in the Salvatierra Hospital in La Paz, is now in surveillance! This means she currently hasn’t present activity of cancer cells and will no longer receive chemotherapy, but she will remain under medital supervision. We are proud to share a beautiful massage from her oncologist, Dr. Altamirano. “Thank you Abril Estrella for making our community come together for a noble cause; your healing. I compare your journey of 40 months of treatment to when a man is sent to the moon and returns to earth safe and sound. You are emblematic for all of us because you inspired us and brought our the best in us. Everybody who met you was moved by your courage, your managed to bring together our will to help in an alliance for good. The southern Baja has benefited from these achievements. Your motivated us to keep working because, like you, there are more heroes that will make this difficult journey to the moon united with us by the love of life.
